Good report. I loved Axis and Allies as the boardgame. Played it for a long time. Never tried the computer game. I found in the board game though the whole key was Russia. If Moscow falls, axis has a chance to win, if Moscow lives Allies win guarenteed. The Russian player should buy nothing but infantry and put them all in Moscow.

And in Risk put all ot your units in Irtusk
#5 TheRubberDucky (dfiatx100-044.dsl.gtei.net)[13517]
BS krebstar in risk take australia at the inital build u[p and kick whoever attacks u first's ass (not in the game) its easy just pull a dozen or so cannons out of your bowl thing (new vers of risk board game only fooz) and "accidently" put them with 9 at the barrier and 1 at the other 3 spots. It's only 2 extra fag guys per turn but with the 90 guys u have at the first spot by "accident" you can easily take over the asia and some of europe, and in a couple of moves you can take over africa. (Note don't do this with pplz tat aren't blind)

I had the disc. But then I took it to school and it broke in half. POS disc. I still have the Board Game which is mega fun (I can own anyone)

Axis&Allies takes a really long to set up in real life, it's a pain. Risk rocks though, I played a 5 way ffa game that lasted 5 HOURS!! And we weren't done! It was soooo much fun though!

Later

Thats nothing. I played a 6 ffa game and it lasted all the way until the cows came home. And we don't own any cows. and we live in the city.

hehe, i love risk.

although afterwards, all of my friends end up hating each other =

"You forked tongue liar!!! You promised not to attack until AFTER we killed him off!"

Those were the days, eh boys? Back in the day of Risk and Diplomacy the only computer game was Empire played on my friend's brand new 8088 with the all new never seen before "color monitor" wow. We played all night "hotseat" and while the first 50 turns took a minute or two each, after 400 turns at 5 a.m. each turn took 20 some minutes.

5 or 10 years from now, starcraft will look like it came from the dinosaur age as we virtually kill eachother in some form of virtual reality based Pentium XI 4000 gigahertz processor. Wow, the AI might even "not suck" by then.
#13 soulsplitter' /terran'you'up' (spider-we084.proxy.aol.com)[13548]
Stratego tips. Bring out ur 1 and 2 guys and beat there guys up, usig on ly the 2 though. If he does the same, bring outa a sucky guy and pretend likes its the 1. That always works!!
#14 Armpit (1Cust186.tnt1.boston.ma.da.uu.net)[13592]
SS thanks for the Stratego tips but I always like the spy ....
T.T. Empire rocked, but only against other humans, against the comps the AI (at least on Amiga machines) sucked.

Still love Axis&Allies because it takes a little thought but not much-a perfect game while eating, drinking, or watching a game.

BTW this report was kinda inspired by a CIV2 report posted a few days ago..looked cool bringing some turn-based games to the reports.

Good work.

I used to like Stratego and Risk, but my favorite turn based game was AD&D. I dungeon mastered for 3 years in a campaigne that made my best reports seem like no effort at all. It was glorious!

We'd go through about 3 cases of Mt. Dew (before it was cool) in our all night Friday sessions. Yeah, I didn't get laid much in high school... but I had fun anyway.

#16 Lonlivethemac (gauntlet.ObjecTime.com)[13652]
yeah, Mt. Dew was much better to drink before it was cool. Now it is some dumb social symbol. At least you can find it easier now.
