| I see a lot of people use the excuse that their screen shots were maxed for not taking pictures. Well, what I do when I hit 90 is make new folder, move all files into there and start from 0. I have 4 full folders of 100 screenshots. I hope ppl know this. |

| hmm... well thx for the advice VRAM, but it wasn't an excuse =] |

| I really think when early expanding you should get those extra 4 gates asap, unless your scouting tells you otherwise. Just pumping zealots and goons from 5 gates will kill a zerg in no time, you don't need to tech unless you fail. |

Didn't even try to expand at all? Hehe.
btw VRAM: I have about 14 folders worth of screenshots =] |

| Well, I think that Zerg played poorly. I mean, going 3 hatch's b4 pool is just asking for a beating. (Did you go random?) You could have pressed the Zealot rush and pounded him easily.

Now, I never favored Grrr's early exp build order cause it leaves you with only one gate in the early game. What if the Zerg decides to 9 pool and ling mass? Grrr himself said that it's risky. |

Umm...your b/o is really screwed up. With Grrrr's strat you don't wait for 45 ctrl to make the second gate. You make it while the nexus is building. By the time your at 45 ctrl I think you should have 5 or 6 gateways and this is where you warp in the assimilator and the forge.
Also, you should have way more than 3 zealots when the nexus finishes. I have 3 zealots when I start warping in the nexus. I'm not sure exactly what's wrong, but there are some serious problems here.
Mark, 9pool and mass ling are easily stopped with this strat. Early game lings < zealots/probes. The only known counter that beats this strat consistently is the 2 hatch hydralisk rush. |

2 hatch hydra fux up this build.
Scouting is the 1st priority. Zerg 1st 2 lords + drone scouting can easily scout him going dhall. Ur 1 gate to 2 gates means u wont be able to stop the 6 ling 12-16 hydro 2hatch attack. Bleh, even without lings, hydro dancing will own the meagre amounts of zs they have.
Similarly toss probe scout should be able to scope out the general zerg build from the way a (good) zerg has placed his hatches- both in main, at ramp, below ramp, at exp, early gas etc.
^^
NO AIR NO RUSH NO UPGRADE NO SPELL Z V Z ONLY KK?~~ |

| The way I understand it is that Zeals/Probes only beat lings if they are fighting head on. If the Zerg micros his lings to surround the Zeals/Probes he can win it. There are a few other things a Zerg can do like targeting each Probe with a ling, or he can engage the force with a few lings while running the others around to mess his probe line up. |

Mark: No problem with 9-pooling. If you see this coming as Toss, you just station your zealots on your ramp with HOLD POSITION, and the lings die engaging the zealots 1on1. If you're really pressed, you can always stick a shield battery on, but that all depends on scouting.
I think a 3-hatch ling rush as described also on starcraft.org will beat a 1-gate. But 2-hatch hydra rush is definitely a more solid build that doesn't risk your economy as much. If your opponent had done a true 3-hatch build, then your first zealots would have gotten creamed by lings before they could do much damage. But it's obvious that he was balking on building the pool since he only saw 1 gate (I have no idea what BO he was using, but it couldn't have been "the" 3-hatch build since he would have had lings by the time your zealots hit), so good job with your early attack. I would have brought some probes along with my zealots and just finished him off ;-). |

| Ya, you 'h'old position on your ramp so his lings can't get through....while your expansion dies. Remember, this is against the early exp build. If you cancel your Nexus, you've got 400+ minerals that hasn't been spent on troops. You're behind in troop count and production. He's prolly got his expansion running by this time too with at least 3 hatch's. If you pump Zeals to try to bust out, he pumps more lings out of hatch's. If you tech to temps or reavers, he flips over to power droning and expands while getting hydras.

I know that it must be a good build since Grrr wrote it, but what if the guy power lings and stations them in your natural to prevent you from expanding? The gist of the strat is to get an early economic advantage over Zerg, but it's risky. I've heard that even Grrr doesn't endorse this strat anymore. |
