"Warning: There are two types of people reading this report. The first kind is already off staring blankly at my pretty pictures. The second are the ones reading this warning because none of the pictures are loading. The reason for this is one of the following: Bill Gates is the devil; Netscape Navigator was programmed by a bunch of monkeys; a butterfly flapped its wings in Hong Kong (or one of its near by suburbs); you are actually trying to download this through a phone line (be serious people); or Bill Gates is the devil."

After reading It, that was a nice report, deserve a 9
I love the way Ever kill is opponent in ZonZ.

Ever seems to like that 2 hatch in zerg vrs zerg a lot. I wonder if anyone will call him on it with a 6 pool in one of his matches? Very Good report on this one too Mek, even if the game was quite a bit shorter.
#4 Warphead (johnny.bath.ac.uk)[20321]
Good report =]

Go i2e2. These games are fun to read. Great work and kudos to the reporters.

From my personal experience, if a zerg didn't go sunken happy early, 3 hatch lings is a minimal start of ling war before even a spire could be morphed.

This is drawn from early 1.05 Korean ladder experience tho. Early expand is sometimes ok if you could get two sunkens and around 12 lings vs say 24 lings. That 3rd hatch, however, should appear really fast before transition to muta. In small number (<12) ling micro in ling war really helps a lot.

#7 (staff-8.ahnet.net)[20329]
Cool report. I wish someone would random to terran or something though. =[
#8 (strangers.bragg.ar[20330]
You should like my next Johnny. Two terrans! Well, it is 2v2 =]
#9 NewbieMcNasty (desk.library.pitt.edu)[20331]
Very good report, too bad the game sucked.

I really don't understand how these zerg players double hatch in zerg v zerg. Doesn't even an 8 pool zergling rush beat double hatch? Also, modern ZvZ ling rushes are accompanied by a drone for an offensive sunken. I'm surprised everlast didn't do that.

Well, whatever, I'm a Terran player so I wouldn't know anyway.

#10 Hooman (WQUEEN.MIT.EDU)[20335]
Question:

Why didn't Multi put his 2nd hatch at his choke and stick a spire and some ling/drones in his ramp? It seems like this would help a lot in holding off superior numbers. I'm not sure of the timing, but it seems
like his lord should be in everlast's base before he put down the 2nd hatch.

#11 Drefsab (rc63.Rmax1.globalsite.net)[20368]
Since the two players were at the two starting spots that are closest to each other, it surprises me that neither tried a 6-8 pool rush. They must've have realized each other's positions very early in the game and it seems like one of them could have taken advantage of the other's build to try a cheese rush. There's no shame in a 6 pool, hell, Crexis tried a 4 pool very recently in this tourney.
#12 (fjwilson.reshall.uc[20372]
I've found in numerous ZvZ losses, lings OWN sunkens HARD.
#13 Fractal_Wave (24.65.24.97.bc.wave.home.com)[20374]
I am quite shocked that there was no super-early zergling fest....Where's the 4-pools guys?

:)

All the best,
Fractal_Wave

#14 Capster (206.dayton-06-07rs.oh.dial-access.att.net)[20427]
nice report Mek,

I believe 2 sunkens would have saved him, and allowed the tech to mutas.

They are quite cost efficient.

#15 Microman (retro.iinet.net.au)[20475]
Hey Hooman: Why don't you come on anymore?

Come back to nohunters and play me again on dire! :)

#16 [BoB]MeK (dialup-209.244.180.127.NewYork2.Level3.net)[20484]
Capster; sunkens really are rather useless in Zerg vs Zerg games, unless you put some at your ramp and plug your ramp with lings. They simply don't hit often enough to kill enough lings. Multifaith *did* have 2 sunkens, both got killed(a typo in the report says 2 spires, I don't know what I was thinking :p). As much as I hate the guy, a Zerg master named tri-ho once demonstrated this to me...colonies in Zerg vs Zerg should be spore only. 1 sunken = 7 zerglings resource wise(if not larvae and supply wise admittedly), and 7 zerglings > 1 sunken. Multifaith lost because he didn't have enough Zerglings, plain and simple. :)

Should 7 - 8 Zerglingz be made instead of 1 sunken vs toss and/or vs terranz?

#20 [CAT]Willzzz (dns1.rhbnc.ac.uk)[20693]
About Sunkens

They cost less larvae than 7 lings. Early game you only have so many larvae, and 1 sunken >>> 2 lings.
Sunkens protect a large area of your base if you daren't split your lings up. Sunkens will pull enemy lings towards them and away from your drones.

Main trouble is you can't put them on your ramp.
