Tis a great report, fear not :)
text only reports are a nice change of pace from the more graphics intensive ones that dominate this board. Leaves more to the imagine i suppose.
and, as a side comment, TheBestCow is a rather redundant name, since, well, all cows own.
My good ol' hometown of chicago, at my request of course, put up big sculptures of cows on every city block downtown.

There are some lessons for Zerg to learn in this report, too.
#1. If you know your opponent is Terran, do NOT use your overlords to scout, at least not until they have the speed upgrade. Zerglings are your early scouting unit versus Terran, or a drone if you want to go with an offensive extractor.
#2. Continue to keep an eye on your opponent in the mid and late game. Mutalisks are useful for this, as are queens. If you see siege tanks, hydralisks are not the way to go. Use guardians or queens with broodling.
#3. The Book of Heartcutter means you can expect to face marines in large numbers. Counters for this include ultralisks, guardians, and darkswarm. Ensnare is also useful.
Now back to trying to put these principles into practice... *sigh* |

The book of Heartcutter also says there will be lots of sci vessels to support those marines (all that extra gas). I would say guardians are a poor choice because they're just big 'ole fat irradiate targets. :) I just got done with a ladder game TvZ where I basically bottled the zerg up.. I never really had a solid containment, but I kept the battles on his soil. He elected to go with guardians to slice through my marine forces that were eating up any flavor of units he was throwing at me. (hydras/lings/mutas) All I did was wait for the battle to begin, and retreat my marines while irradiating all the guardians I could see. Ultras and darkswarm are a much better choice I think. Also as zerg you need to do surgical drops on terran expansions. Since you're teching to hive anyways, take the 2 islands and use nydus for easy defense.
And whatever you do, dont let yourself get bunkered in. Against a good terran, if that happens, you might as well give up. |
