oh my god! U beat 7 comps!? One time I beat 3 zerg comps using protoss and I thought I was great but now this report puts my victory to shame :(

If you can beat 7 computers you Micro skill is off the scale, which I don't believe because...... BEATING 7 COMPUTERS IS VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE. Quantity over Quality, and let me tell how much quantity 7 computers have. However by some insane Y2K bug that you actually pulled this off you still only get a 6.0 because, there were no battle shots and you were playing the computer. Rather hard to believe. Try an opponent with a pulse.

You can do it but not that way. You have to complete wall-in with supply depots and about 4 bunkers behind and tanks and turrents. It has to be on BGH or some variant. You go all defense and BCs. Only way it can be done.

LOL
It is possible to beat 7 comps. I do it all the time. To prove this I challenge anyone to a bet who thinks I can't. I'll write up the batte report with LOTS of pictures just to prove it. The computer is so dumb it's funny. I don't know about Terran, but with Toss it's relatively easy. I cannon in right off the bat, and I mean hella cannons, then I tech straight to carriers. I skip everything inbetween. I build lots of shield generators behind the cannons, and split the carrier force in 2. I bring one back to the generators to recharge while the other goes out and attacks. You shouldn't dobt him guys, it is possible that's all I'm saying.

What he did is very possible. I myself have won Terran v 7 Zerg (on BGH).

last time I tried 1v7 computers (on BGH), I was foolish enough to build a good number of Valks to defend against Corsairs and their nasty dweb - after the Valk nofire bug kicked in I gave up :(

In my few games vs 7 computers I also never had such an aggressive tactic as shown here, I would wall in with depots and tanks and just attack with air.

I beat 7 computers once of the 3 times I tried it, but that was back in old SC days, and I think it was easier then because no DWeb existed then

Well loser I'll be glad to prove it. As for the cannon's it's not how many, it's how often. I build NOTHING but cannons until I have teched to carriers. The main problem is with Seige Tanks. I scout with an early probe and harras all the terran players. I then run them into my cannons. This pisses the computer off, and it will constantly rush you with marines, medics, and firebats. For some reason if you do this the computer will only get Tanks after you get carriers. You only have to hold out for about 9 minutes. It's hard, but by constantly rebuilding the cannons as they get torn down, you can do it. At the 9 minute mark you get about 4 carriers, then you just sit them ontop of your cannons, build about 7-8 shield generators and chill. When you get to about 12-16 carriers, you go on a killing spree, taking down one opponent at a time. I'll be happy to post the report, but it will be boring as hell. Who wants to see complete turtling to carriers? Oh and BTW all the computers are on Random, so what they get they get, I don't play all zerg or anything stupid like that.

Well, I sure feel humbled. My friends and I cannot even win a 3v2 comps matchup. One guy turtles with limited units, one guy techs with limited resources and I am left to fight both of the computers. After reading some of these reports, I think that if you go hard ground troops (marines/zealots/zerglings) and guard your choke point, it would be possible to defeat the computer. I think that Terran would probably be best at this since the buildings do lend themselves to creating your own choke points and the bunkers will protect the marines while giving the added range necessary.

Protoss vs 6/7 comps isn't that hard (although at least one of the zerg almost always has an AI failure and doesn't build anything worthwhile.) This is on BGH, of course. Actually, the most frequent cause of loss is two or more zergs pulling 4 pools. It slows you down enough that you can't hold off the big combined rush that follows.

I won Zerg vs 6 comps once (BGH) and that was hard. Microing about 5 groups of misc zerg air, plus trying to expand and hold ground is non-trivial.

I never had any luck at all playing terran vs 7 comps at regular starcraft, but I was playing on Plains of Snow...

This was an odd battle report. Like having exact numbers of troops in battles half way through a 100+ minute game. The comp ai can suck, but normally when it pulls tanks out it's pretty strange to see the player countering with tanks after having gone really heavy infantry early. Still I haven't played terran vs comp on hunters so who knows. If the guy did it then kudos to him.

Strom.

Damn, the best I've ever done is beat 3 zerg with 1 terran. It was a ladder map though, so it probably counts for more.

This is stupid. In vanilla BGH, zerg NEVER tech beyond Hatchery, they just keep throwing unupgraded hydralisks at your wallin, and there is ALWAYS an AI failiure in which the comp doesn't do anything but mine with 10 drones, and get a spawning pool. 1 vs 7 is just too easy on BGH, but it may be different on regular hunters.
#20 Barage[25602]
dialup-209.246.180.236.Atlanta1.Level3.net
I've done a 1z v 7 terran on both BGH and hunters. I did the old lurker rush, using my 6 zerg early strike to kill a terran then turtling with the lurkers. Add in a batch more and you can watch the other terran comps send wave after wave of infantry into the grinder. They got tanks as well, but were slow to realize you need to comsat, siege THEN advance. By that time, I had guardians and swept through the base. All of the comps had either bearly got up a starport or simply had none.

It seems that the basic idea of killing mass comps is to trick them into fighting 'meat grinder' style defenses and then heavy teching while they continue to pump out the smaller forces. Since a major key to breaking D as terran is in slow tank pushes, and the comp doesn't like to even siege till it's already under fire (thus the tanks are WAY too close), I'd say terran comps are VERY weak to this style of play (though never let them get to late game; lockdown w/ godly micro is evil incarnate)

Kudos to your game although it must have been very hard. The best I have done it a game is a 2v6 Comp Stomp with one of my friends and it took quite a while. It was kewl though because I took out like 5 of them. I did a cannon wallin and then teched to Carriers and backed them up with High Templars and Reavers. It was a fun game. But Corsairs suck ass with their DWeb and I hate lockdown.

Oh this is possible.. Just damn hard.. i'm quite sure he failed quite a few times b4 he won this one.. & it is the luck of hte draw.. cos the top left or top mid is about the only 2 possies that u can do it at.. cos u can hold one very effective choke after killing one which gives u 3 mining spots & a godly defencive pos.. its easy to beat 7 comps on bgh.. just bc em.. can do it in under an hour.. as proven by one of my friends.. i tink he got real lucky with the tanx here.. cos normally if u go hard infantry.. u get slammed by enemy tanx.. but they didn't seem to have that many in this one..

well im not to sure but i managed a 2v6 random comp on normal hunters
both me and my ally well turtled up and used our rescources gatherers to lure the enemy peons into our defense line immmeditaly. juz bring them to the center and lead them in circles. needs some control though (*hint*hint* =])
this can make the economy of at leats 3 comp go way slow and they will keep throwing basic units at u after that

im no expert but i REALLY dont think that tactic can win over 7 computers. Besides I dont think you can really win with them getting 7 times the resourses you do. I would believe it if i could see some screenshots but as of now i think your full of it.

i bet 1,000 ladder wins you can't do it on any non mucho money map even on hunters on BGH its damn near impossible id say unless u screw over the comp by cheap tricks that ONLY work vs comps.

This was a cute report, I've never played against more than 3 comps so I don't know what kind of tactics would be used. It does sound "suspicious" at some points, because I'm always wondering how SEVEN comps couldn't have had more units than they did. I'm sure I would have built several bunkers at my choke, e.g,. as much as I hate turtling. Yeah, as was mentioned, the trick is to get the comp to "meat grinder" his forces into your defenses where you suffer minimal loss, but you STILL need to be winning in a 7to1 resource advantage worth of units (i.e. kill 14 zealots for each marine you lose :-b ) in order to just break even, notwithstanding the comp's propensity to expand like a madman whenever it sees that you're contained.

Anyway, it was very enjoyable to read and I don't doubt that this actually happened (the alternative, that someone made up a 7on1 comp game and wrote this all out, is kinda a silly possibility).
