Sucked? No, definitely didn't suck. If you want sucked, read Roqu's report.
This one was pretty good. From what I read, it was a FFA on Temple. The only thing that sucked about it was the fact that one of the players fell to lings early in the game, making the FFA really just a 1v1. Other than the game potentially being bad, this was pretty good.
To the author: My only problem with it was that you occasionally slipped out of "zerg" mode and began describing things as a more traditional BR. And sometimes talked about the Toss constructing things instead of warping them. Oh, and as far as I know lings don't have any loyalty b/c they're completely under control of the cerebrate/overlords. But that's just getting picky...:)

Cool. About time we heard more Zerg-POV reports. Why should Terrans get all the glory? This is really nicely done, too.

Thanks for the feedback folks. Encourage me and I'll finish it. It takes time to write these thing - ick. Hopefully for the next installment I can figure out a way to make the story a little less like a narration and more like an 'experience'. I can't quite wrap my head around the Zerg perspective too well since it is a hive mentality and not likely to be too individualistic (which is the perspective that makes the best 'story'). One thing to keep in mind is that the Zerg aren't a true hive mind. Cerebrates have their own personalities and thoughts; the Overmind (or Kerrigan, if you prefer) rules them but does not dictate their thoughts. (Otherwise, what would be the point of having Cerebrates?)
I did a report like this a month or two ago, told in the first person from a Cerebrate's point of view. It seemed to go over pretty well. If you want my take on the subject, do a search for my name--or wait a few days; I'll probably be putting up another one on Sunday or Monday. |

The writing was nice, the idea very good, the content somewhat lacking and the a little tiring. This was at times a little wordy, and some things were slightly muddled. Nevertheless I feel the 7 is well deserved, and perhaps it should be bumped up to a 7.5 or 8.
