Thanks for the good comments everyone (who cares if they're contructive or not, as long as they're flattering). I findally decided to proof read the report after I submit, and there are a few typos, like my tendency to replace 'd' with 's'. You all got the gist of it anyways, it seems.
Next time I'll try to remember to take shots, but that's not always easy when you're actually playing. Maybe I can figure out how to map my spare mouse button to 'print screen' or something.
In hindsight, I did forget one important detail. He did make one infested terran, and ruthlessly attack me with it. But of course it died before it could go off. Ok, so that wasn't so important, but I think I did miss out on one guardian attack on the backside of my main, one more over my natural's cliff and a ling and hydra attack on my mineral only spot from the left. The game was an hour long though, so I can't really go into detail about every conflict. I think the point was made that he took out my natural over, and over, and over.
In an odd sort of way, I think what won me the game was the fact that I was on the edge of dying so often. I think Jang thought he was close and was being a bit reckless, thinking he could just finish me off without thinking of efficiency. Even though I was hurt by all those guard attacks, I won big as far as resources lost in those battles. If I thwarted his first attack without any problem, he may have expanded more and generally played more cautiously.
This brings a strategy to mind that may be useful when you have an expansion attacked. Run the SCVs away in terror, and hastily lift your CC, even if you could hold it no problem. If he thinks he's just one pack of hydras away from the win, that may be all he makes, while you expand, tech, etc. Something to ponder anyways.
I hope to have a game worthy of reporting again soon!

Good report. One thing you have to understand is the politics involved in rating. If you aren't a named reporter then you automatically get less ratings and slightly lower ratings. THe good news is that once you have established a name you get more and higher ratings.
This coulda been a 7+ because the action was well laid out and easy to follow. There was a good battle clearly, but you need to be more entertaining. I personally rate on the entertainment factor. So you get a 6. |

| Well, I didn't write the report to have you laughing at my silly marines antics, or guardians arguing over who's stealing who's kills. It was a BATTLE report, not a SC comedy fiction hour story report. Note that all of the above comments are good, and nobody complained about it not being funny. And if you get higher ratings simply based on who you're friends with, then I guess the ratings are meaningless. I know I'll never get a good rating because I obviously haven't been schmoozing good enough, and am probably already on some silly black list. |
