"Be like JV, and randomly misplace units all across the map. When your main is burning to the ground look around for anything you might have missed like those 5 science vessels you rallied to the other side of the map."

There, I've pretty much got the HTML stuff down but not completely. I'd have to say this is an improvement from my last one though. Thanks Dref. There is one flaw I couldn't figure out how to fix. Some of the words got cut off on the far right side =/
But overall I don't think it's too bad.

Yeah, reading over it now I realize a lot of my own flaws that'll be corrected in my next report. And I have a larger screen than most ppl and have to figure out a way to deal with that too...=/

And...why does the bgcolor command not work? It was gonna be a black background, and when it didnt work I had to change OrganFarmR's name to gray.

Ya, bgcolor command works. But not inside a body tag. You have to create a table
<table bgcolor="ff0000"><tr><td>like this</td></tr></table>

you can view source to get the code. I think its in Phiber-Optik's html guide too (not sure) This seems to come up a lot.

Try aligning the pictures and taking off some of the unnessessary parts of it. It makes it a lot easier to read.

Man forget the html... your content is rather poor. You're not starting with some kind of introduction to set up the game, and you're not portraying the game well enough... sorry but you need some serious work :)

Not too bad for a first attempt, just try to beef up the text some next time and you'll do great. :)

Bane, Pitt is just trying to help you out and frankly, I agree with him.

Your HTML is decent and your learning, but the most important part of a Battlereport is describing the game that you observed. You really didn't do that here. I honestly have no idea what happened in this game. In fact, I had to look at the minimap to find out what map it was played on.

When writing a report, try to answer these questions:

1) Who played and on what map?
2) What were the build orders?
3) Who expanded and when?
4) What major conflicts occurred?
5) Who won and why?

If your battlereport answers these 5 questions, then it will most likely be complete.

Hope this helps,

5

Honestly, a lot of the lack of information came from my inability to write html well...
I had the build orders and map at the top, but the text was covered by the pictures and I couldn't figure out how to fix it. ;[

Bane man I know I speak roughly but that's how I've been raised. I didn't mean to make you get defensive, because you're putting your best foot forward and really trying, AND I think that is great (especially for a 15 year old :) Basically, what you need to do is start out by working on substance -- the backbone of EVERY report is the STORY. You need to set the stage for the battle. Look at drefsab's questions. Those are ESSENTIAL when battlereporting. If you find that your lack of .html ability is hindering your writing then try pumping out some text only BR's. Not only are they really fun to write, but also you will find that when you make the transition to .html oriented BR's people will absolutely RAVE over them.

To put it shortly, pictures can only ENHANCE what you have down there in text. Stick with that concept and you can't go wrong. Take this BR as a learning experience and maybe try re-reporting the game. In the least make the effort to improve along the lines dref and I have suggested. I believe that you if analyze all of your BR's two weeks from now you'll notice a great deal of improvement :)

Peace.
