"Be like JV, and randomly misplace units all across the map. When your main is burning to the ground look around for anything you might have missed like those 5 science vessels you rallied to the other side of the map." - Johnny_Vegas

| #1 Mind Twist[1112] | | lala. lalalalalalalalalalalalalalaal. Lessons learned, other than the fact that if you suck at BW, it's useless trying to get any better..
-If you go for a rush build order, make sure to rush! If I had just attacked with those first few marines I could've hurt the terran, who really caused me problems.
-DTs are good vs Terran.. Terrans should watch out for DTs..
-If you have any comments, go ahead and leave them. I'll still read some battle reports on this page when I'm bored (when i'd usually play BW) and i'll just pretend im the guy writing and winning.. :( | | #2 Phuckin-Rhetard[1122] | | | Quit being such a whiney little bitch. | | #3 Mind Twist[1125] | | | Okay mom | | #4 Flint79[1127] | | | Hey man...Still go on brood wars the next couple of days and try and find me. I'll be looking for you. We will play a few games together and maybe this will help you. A few basic strats on more beginner maps. Your not alone man. I could'nt win a game on temple if my life depended on it against a semi-good player :).....at the moment. But I'm still trying. Later | | #5 JSH[1133] | | | Sheesh Mind Twist you are depressing! All this self-pity. It's only a game. If you never win, then who cares? Either try to get better (which you don't want to do) or leave and find something else (which you are doing). | | #6 Mind Twist[1134] | | | JSH, sorry if i made it sound like it made that big of a deal to me, it wasnt my original plan. i still like to use bnet for chatting, especially since i'm too lazy to find a chat program. Flint79, I will look for you some time. That reminds me.. I have to do the single player BW sometime.. i always forgot to. | | #7 Snowreaver[1169] | | | Er... the single player campaigns are probably the single best way to figure out how to use all the units.. not really anything to skip over when you jump into something. :> | | #8 Jubilex[1171] | | Look man, many people that play on Bnet face this sort of discouragement. I put SC off for months because I would either crush my opponent without trouble, or get worked mercilessly. I have come back, put some serious analysis on my techniques, and am winning about 2 for each loss.
Thanks to F@T@$$ for giving me some zerg lessons, which I have taken to heart. He called it practice for him, but it improved my game immensely.
I would spend equal time working with another player on practicing techniques/build orders/tricks, and getting those techniques down pat against the computer. Hell, grab a stop watch and see how fast you can tech, or rush, or whatever.
I'd be happy to help, just whisper me. | | #9 Flint79[1196] | | I got to point where all I played was BGH and my partners always sucked, plus mucho moneys maps were a waste of time....they teach you nothing. I did'nt know anybody. I found the nohunters crowd. They still beat like hell but I enjoy playing the different maps every now and then. I mostly play lone wolf challenger trying to improve my skill. If I win...good...If I lose....I get pissed, but I sit down and think about what I did wrong. The real jackpot is when you lose....only then can you improve. If I don't see you...I'm giving you Starcraft Homework! Make a game with computers on Temple (3 comps FFA). When playing...don't just turtle in and build a victory fleet. Build as fast as you can taking expansions....keeping all your cash on the battlefield. Protect your mineral line in back of your base....we all know the comp never goes for your mineral line like other players, but practice making defences there and setting up your base in well thought out order. Use strat to kill the comp not victory fleets. For example: Tank Push, see how fast you get a hydra drop, ect. I always try new stuff on the comp before putting it into use.
BTW: Go to a Yahoo Search and search for, "Starcraft University". This page helped me a lot. When I lose alot ( which happens quite often now that I joined NoHunters), I just go and kill some publics fools. It's alot of fun, and keeps the fun in the game :)
