Humor, paragraphs, well made and numerous pics.
Personally I think zerg vs toss is the most equal bi-race match up and therefore the best to read about or participate in. Alot of it is about macro, but it's also about using zerg advantages in scouting, massive drops, burrowing, and unit speed to counteract the toss's storm.
Plus, all elements of the game can be utilized in a good zerg vs toss. The zerg can go for drop, lurkers, power hydra, double expand, gaurdians, mutas, lings, or hydra rush. The toss can go for 1 gate tech to cors, reavers, or templar, or they can 2 gate exp, or 1 gate exp, or 3 gate zealot rush or they can 2 gate goon lot obs, or chon lot goon, or temp lot, or 1 gate cors to dt, temp, lot exp.
Upgrades are critical in toss vs zerg, defense for zerglings over attack for zealots, defense for mutas over defense for corsair. You have to know how to place the cannons on your ledge so that they can't be hit by hydras attacking up, but they can hit the hydras on the ramp. You have to guess about zerg expansions, burrow capabilities, possible drop zones, and the zerg has to make sure that the toss doesn't know any of that by using lings and shit to box possible scouts and retreat to better positions if they're pursued by heavy toss infantry.
I thought this game was well spoken and well played, so I say again, 10. |

Probe is not "right" Mister No-Name.
1 larva/20 seconds * 12 = 36 larva a minute.
Let's say 1/2 of those are crax and the other half are
hydra. So that's 36 craz n 18 hydra every minute.
And this is before he took the 12 min only and added
2 more hatches after that (mentioning it at that stage
of the game would have been redundant). Let's allow
for overlords, and a couple more drones on the side, then
average it out at 25 military units. Sounds fair.
Now let's look at aP's production. 6 gates. Let's
be generous and give him the same unit build time as
larva respawn. That's 18 units a minute, and we're being generous. In fact he'd be closer to 10 military units a
minute. Especially after his main running dry and
having to cannon his new exp.
So he's being outproduced numbers wise AT LEAST 2:1, and his 3-main expansion is isolated so he has to spend
2k cannoning it up.

YES!!! This report was great. I get a real kick out of a battle like this. That trick of Crazy's, sending endless hydralisks in to die just to keep the enemy from noticing that his nexus was being chewed away, was so beautiful, and so... well... so Zerg.
The cool thing about this BR is that the players had such vastly different playing styles, and those styles were so well suited to the races they picked. ApTaktics was into heavy micro and spellcaster use, while Crazy relied mainly on rapid expansion and force of numbers. I'd love to see the final scores on that game... Crazy must have lost a ridiculous number of troops. :)
Plus, the Zerg winning always improves a BR for me.

That makes it beautiful right there. As an SC player (zerg player),
I am a simple man, similar to Crazy (though not as good).
Strategy= make hydras, make cracklings. Make more.
Make a queen. Throw in some hydralings. Then, proceed
to make lots of hydralisks and adrenalings. Add hatches.
Make heavily upgraded hydras and zerglings...

Sersiously though, you know the part were the two "veteran" hydras destroy the neuxus (I sure hoped they survived th:) why did that make such a big difference? I mean, it wasn't a fully developed exansion, just a neuxus, and the 'toss army was allready on it's way, why couldn't he just rebuild the neuxus? Or was it such a fast paced game that he needed the resources _now_ and couldn't wait for the neuxus to finish? |

When he lost that nexus, he was really low on

Great report, loved it. I dont know about the rest of you but I didnt see that "hole" in the action that was spoken of. That one picture of the minimap that casper provided that showed zerg with 6 bases to toss' 3 pretty much explained it all to me.
