Ah damn! I wanted Cynical to win so bad!(specially cause he was the best race other than random - Terran)! It seems what he did wrong was not being agressive enough with not enough scouting. Usually that's how I die to a zerg. Blink twice and another zerg expansion is running.
Also, I love that map. My first memory of The Styx was beating one of my best RL friends in a heated TvT match involving lots of nukes, wraiths, tanks pushs, and drops. I won after using a L33t double nuke followed by a marine drop on his natural expansion. (This was in the vanilla days of SC).
Too bad you didn't put up much of a fight Cynical. Ah well.

Good pics, but more gore needed. I think you should add more text too and let the pics supplement your writing. Also it was a little too wide. I think there's stuff you can improve on, but I didn't think it was terrible.

Eerrrg. SOmeone needs to do a BR that I'm in where I DON'T get owned. =P. Not a bad report though, even though I'm obviously biased. I would like to comment on the game first though... I knew about his natural, but I didn't continue scanning it, or I would've known about mutas.. I totally expected lurkers.. -sigh-
FOr the BR, I found it too wide for my screen (I'm at 800x600 at work, not 1024 like on my computer). The writing wasn't bad, could've used a bit more of it though.. Also, the pics were a bit big. Try and trim them down more, so they don't clog up the screen. I find text wrapping around them works well. All in all, BR A GAME WHERE I WIN! =P

Kane owned Cynic z v t? ee gads. heh...These youngins have too much time to play, they wake up at 11, play straight through till 4 am, and even eat while they obs. Makes for some very fast improvements...
Either that, or else Kane let someone else sign on his name and play for him! Not altogether impossible ;o)

Because more people need to learn to fight off terran with zerg, and... well... this was.. a start. Too one sided of a battle though. ( heheh, don't kill me plz Cyn) All that stuff Cynical said about the pictures. If you can a little more detail on the actual micro of the battles ( what was targeted, using mutas in shifts to heal?, etc yadda yadda)
Either teach or entertain, those are the two best ways to go. You can't just say "Here it is" because.. then noone gets anything out of it. Good overall. |

Shockwave: I made 2 lurks. Like I *really* cared about those resources. Those 2 lurks made him have to bunker down and take forever to blow away my main. That was my entire goal. To fool him. And it worked :)
This was a decent br, but like cyn said a little too wide, and not enough text.

And I may be a youngun and get up at 10, but I don't eat while I obs and I don't improve quickly :P
I targeted the most damageful (yeah its not a word) guys. Like at his main, he had a bunker as his main defense, and surrounded it by like 10 scvs. I had about 6 or so mutas, so I just went around and whacked turrets until I got another 12 mutas and then owned the bunker. Mutas also own infantry if you concentrate fire. And you have a lot of them :) |

Nuclear~SCV: cool, I get it. Like I said, more standard way is to save the gas and make mutas instead, but it's all cool. I like to just make an insane number of sunkens and creep out. Lurks or no, he still has to blast his way through and it takes a long long time.
Anyhow, yep a few lurks will work wonders and make it that much harder for him to blast through, and also put him more on the defensive as you said. I remember reading one top-player BR where the guy did sunken creeping while interspersing lurks amongst the sunkens. It was pretty effective and meanwhile he *just* produced drones and shot straight up to guards. |

I saw that little write-up at Montaro.org actually. It was called "creeping the Terran." Make like 8(!) sunkens (after taking your natural on temple) spread out so he has to use tanks, then go straight for Guards/defilers/Hydra drop whatever floats your boat.
As a terran player, I would simply cliff drop his expansion or M&M drop his main. I'm not sure if those would come to late though, as I've never seen that done in game. |

Hey Sonneillon,
The standard anti-sunken+muta is to head straight for dropships and take out his main with dropped M&M's. The idea is not to "fall for the bait" and waste money on tanks trying to take out sunkens, because it just will take *forever*. I'd drop his main while expanding with modest bunker/turret and shoot for wraith/SVs as soon as possible. The real problem is having enough irradiate by the time those guards come. |

Anyway, I suggest a repost with a table width of about half of what it is now. BRs where you have to scroll over in order to read should get somewhat harsh ratings, and in no way be gold. Also, don't put extra, useless pictures into a report like you did at the end.

Shock, what about the really fast 1 rax quick tech (with wall-in on maps with a ramp) to starport? Throw 3 marines, 1 SCV, 1 tank into a dropship and bunker/turret his cliff then siege the tank.
I'm assuming that would be fast enough, but he may have enough mutas to kill the tank before you can bring more marine reinforcements. I would probably just do a 12 marine, 1 bat and 3 medic drop on his main though.
Sadly, I only know theory as I don't get to play as nearly as much as I want. Therefore - I'm not sure if that would work against better players.

Hey dk, the report wasn't as bad as you make it out to be. If you trimmed your images a little, brightened the contrast on your title pic, reduced the width of the table, and integrated the pictures into the report a little better (ie wrap text around the pics), you'd be well on your way towards stardom :) Maybe that sounds like a lot, but it really isn't.

Late on the commenting for some reason... How long has this report been up?
Anyway, like others have said, more text, less pics.
As for the game...
I don't really like the lurker idea either. With 2 lurkers, we're talking about an extra 425 in gas. That's going to make your mutas come a lot later and give terran time to get irradiate as well as a lot of m&m.
In my experience, if your're gonna go muta against terran, you've gotta do it quick. I just can't figure out how it was possible for 12 mutas to rape an entire terran main... hmmm...
Oh well
The report gets a 6 from me... :-)

Text makes a report. Pics do add points to it. But the bulk of it comes from your writing. Mutas is like my favorite tech now with zerg. I am even using them over hydras sometimes against the protoss. But lurkers and mutas =[ Sorry but that's to much gas. Might as well build mass queens =[
Oh yeah Dref, you can't kill probes with Queens, although it's a good fake to scourge rush his carriers ;)

Hostile: I think I did once.. Remember the game you watched with me and chinks? The one where I went mass SV's and managed to win? That was cool. I think you were working on some other game though, or you missed getting screens for the start, and so you declined to BR... That's a shame.. Gayness won out over a good player.. and it was MY gayness, which makes it all the more cool. Ah well.
Dref: 12 mutas>my base because: 1) my turrets were poorly placed, and not supporting one another. 2) He ran over my bunker, because I forgot to repair until it hit about 200/350. 3) I didn't keep making troops at my base. 4) I blow with terran, except occassionally when I manage to pull off something cool on polaris. Me and that race=the best of times, and the worst of times.
Fox: What do you mean: 'Might as well build mass queens =['? Queens rock vs any race, dont rag on 'em. =P

More than 10.. I had at least 2 control groups... I think I had 26 actually, at the end. That was great. THe only gas I spent was SV's, infantry upgrades, and that 1 nuke.
