| #1 Willzzz[1611] | | about your b/o... don't go gas early and then only put 2 on it, get it slightly later and put 3 on it, you'll have more minerals, and the same amount of gas.
go depot, rax, rax, acad, gas, depot (just put 3 on gas asap, or you'll get stim later than you ought to) then attack. | | #2 Vladmir{KRT}[1621] | | Against Toss, their are a few tactics that I have found that could work well. Against templar before you get Science Vessels, use medic's blind spell to blind everyone. If you do this to enough units, everything will be black for him. To hit stray temp, use speedy vultures. Against DT, I usually use a medic wall at my choke with marines behind it. For Peon Line defense, I like to use a bunker, two turret, and double tank defense. From here, a good tactic is to get four armories and two engineering bays for upgrades while getting Science Vessels, Goliaths, Ghosts, and Wraiths. To disrupt a Toss, try using a vulture drop on your enemy's peon line, or the tank push from behind. Hope this helps,
Vladmir | | #3 Blank[1632] | | Since everyone is posting their thoughts, I'd thought I'd add mine=)
I just got whoop'ed by somebody (sorry, can't remember your name) me as Terran him as Toss. Anyways, mass firebats and vultures work REALLY well, plus they can take out Dt's rather quickly with just a few comstats (especially when stimmed). Ironically, he didn't even research siege mode and his mass firebats/vultures (mines) managed to hold off my dragoon hordes fairly easily. Wraiths would/should be the next step to pick off observers (with scivessel) and harrassment of expansions. I dunno why, but it seems Terran battle reports report ALOT more Wins versus Toss players when they use Vultures/firebats/wraiths/scivessels. Maybe it's a sign=)
Blank | | #4 Omnipresent[1638] | | My problem, blank, is that i've always done horrible with vultures. Even soso said that if you screw up just once with vultures you can lose the game, and I agree with him. I certainly can't mass-lay mines and using vultures always seems to throw me off. Perhaps its because I keep trying those vulture rushes that everyone talks about. Instead maybe it would be better to do a normal build but use vultures instead of tanks?
That kinda leaves you open to reavers though ;-<... *(Omnipresent scratches his head thoughtfully)* I guess I might need to experiment more then. With the extra gas from tanks perhaps a quick ghost build might be in mind? Early nukes are always fun ;D, and lockdown could possibly handle reavers and such. My spellcasting will certainly get much-neeeded practice this way ;-)>.
Thanks for the idea blank, and willz I am implementing your build more into mine as I have played a few more games and the 1 rax to academy build just doesnt seem to work. As for vladimir, I'm not sure the blind spell would really help all that much. As I said, my micro needs serious practice, and even if you are a godly micro'er you can't blind every single thing before he gets at least one good storm in. A I'm sure many of you have experienced, one storm alone well-placed and you could be finished ;(. |
