This is a good story. The problem here is that at times you try to be serious and at other times you try to be funny. This makes the story a bit uneven. For example:
"<i>“Wait, let me check something,” DivvyO said quietly. Holding up his hand, he closed it around the doorknob and turned it 90 degrees to the left and shoved it. The door opened, revealing a high-tech compound within.</i>"
That's humor and there's lots of it in the first half of this story... real funny stuff. I fully expected the humorous parody to continue. But then you start to get into the morality of what the squad is doing and other such issues.
Anyway, a gripping story just the same and I would just like to say, thank God it will be some time yet before I reach the ripe old age of thirty... :P

Good story. I tend to agree with Drefsab, the transition between serious and funny is a hair awkward. For example, the part when you talked about the team being able to hit a cow from five feet. That was early in the story and helped set a light-hearted tone, but suddenly the story shifted to become very graphic and sober. Personally I prefer the serious stuff, because it is done so well. :)

Am I the lone soul that actually thinks the switching between being humourous and serious actually makes the story better? The story being humourous supports the fact that this story is completely fake and could never happen (I'm not fully supporting this comment due to the spontanaity of Blizzard). Also, the seriousness just makes the story good and shows how serious a topic such as death is. So, in my humble and lonesome opinion, I think part 2 should be humourous and serious as well. now it gets tricky...you put the scv from your depot on minerals, and the one from the rax on gas...as soon as your depot finishes, put ONE scv on que in your CC...then put a marine on que in your rax. when u get the minerals, put another scv on que and then another rine, and then another SCV.
with the first SCV you que'd, go to gas (this will allow u to have two SCV waiting for gas to finish, putting three on ASAP. with the second one, put it on minerals, and with the third one, build a factory. you should be just shy of the resources for the factory, but waiting 3 seconds is not a problem.
now send your two rines to attack your opponent. if he is going for a quick tech, you can tag the scv's building factory or whatever, but dont micro your rines. dont waste time; they are for recon.
while your factory is building, put two more scv's on que. with the first one, build another supply depot, and with the second one, begin another factory. this will allow you to be building two factories at once, and since you save up money for a second here, have resources to begin building soon. when your first factory finishes, put that scv on gas or minerals, depending on what your rines saw, and immediately begin making a vulture and a marine ASAP. begin another vulture and then another rine. now get some more SCV's -- saturate your minerals and get another depot on 22 or 23. get a machine shop for your second factory asap, and attack with your 2 vultures 2 rines. the game usually ends here. this strat has never been beaten when executed properly -- switch builds, expand, or keep pumping the same units as necessary...bunkers > vultures/rines, so run by if u can or just get tanks asap. gw

Set me up as a character...
I'd be a young, lanky, quiet person who has a dark feel about him... something like "no, that's not funny", dark eyes, dark hair, dark circles under eyes... but NOT out of shape... I spend 1/3 the summer upstate New York, taking 3 mile hikes through the forests and fields... so don't think I won't keep up the pace. I've smiled 9 times in the past 2 weeks... literally. I am a good shot (I am especially good with crossbows and shotguns), and has problems with abandoning teammates (except for hawk). Vital Statistics would be 67,84,98,82,75,48,89,86,48,98. (In order) Quick to pick up on new skills and almost no sense of humor. Holds grudges for a long time, and isn't a big small-talker. That's me in a nutshell... In real life, anyway... the reason I like the internet is I can say "lol" without smiling... I'm alot easier to talk to online too...
