The pictures really take away from the report here. There aren't any borders on the collages save for the outside nifty glow-whatever, and as for what's inside the frames themselves, what you created was a total brual raping of Starcraft visualizations that have etched themselves permanently into my cornea and will take years of surgery and therapy to remove. This report has done more damage to my psyche than getting picked on in all of High School (and being a White Male Tech Geek(TM) I got it a lot). This report should be shunned like someone with the black plague, leprosy, ebola, AIDS, and a tendency to watch the Food Network.
All in all, good job. Can't wait to see the next one. |

nice effort but the pics really detracted from the report. The build order thing was really unattractive, the centering was off and althought i liked the font contrast with the background, i couldn't bring myself to read the entire thing. I think u have a nice touch with the pic distortions but make sure not to overdo it. all in all, an OK job. I think bob was abit harsh with his rating, i give it a 5.

The game was ZvsZ, which is generally a bad sign :)
Oddly enough, it was kinda interesting for ZvsZ. The players were pretty chobo tho.
It was a good try, and lots of effort no doubt. Get some better players, and work on the pics, and you'll be set. You showed some innovation, just need to clean it up a bit. |

Okay Erad, gonna try to give you some constructive critism because I can appreciate the report for sheer effort.
The first thing you need to do is remember the purpose of a battlereport. That purpose should be to help the reader see and understand a good game of Starcraft that they otherwise would never have experienced.
Keeping that purpose in mind, you should now realize that all the pic effects that you used do absolutely nothing for anyone. There is not one picture in your report that did anything to help me understand what was going on during the game except for minimap update. I highly recommend that you keep your pictures simple and concentrate more on your text. Your text should be the backbone of your report. Tell us what happened and use your pics to illustrate certain crucial spots in the game. There will be plenty of time for picture effects later once you learn how to use them properly... :-)
Finally, its important that the game you choose to battlereport be somewhat competetive. No one cares to watch a beatdown. Its kind of like when I turn the channel on the football game once the score is 42-0.
This report is so fundamentally wrong, I just can't give it anything higher than a 4 and that's basically because like I said, I can appreciate the effort. But I think if you keep trying and keep it simple, you can do a lot better... :-)

First I'd like to say that this report had a lot of good ideas in it and I hope you don't get discouraged by all this. Now a few suggestions
1) work on the text. Its more important than the pictures.
2) When you have text over pics make sure it stands out. That was a major problem with some of your jpegs.
3) NEVER EVER ENLARGE ANYTHING!! This is for 2 reasons, firstly, it makes it look like shit. Secondly it makes the picture bigger than what it needs to be which just breaks up the report, increases dl time etc. I think if you hadn't made all your pics 4 times their original size this might have gone over fairly well.
4) Don't use so many shape tools. I have found little if any use for them.
5) Don't give up.

Most of the bad---very bad aspects of the report have been pointed out by my elders ^^_^^.
Several folks mentioned the effort that was put into the report, and I have to say that I am slight mistifyied by the statements. But, since I have never retouched a picuture & haven't even begun to dream of writing a BR, I'll take their words for it.
But, I really have to say that I was greatly disappointed. I remotely remember your 1st BR, and as soon as I read your comment as this being your 2nd, I was IMMEDIATELY excited. And, IMMEIDATELY, disappointed as well. The first 6X picture caught me by the throat &...sadly, downhill it went from there.
I hope you'll take notice of all the "flaming" & the contructive criticsm (spelled right?), especially DresFab's.

As much as I dislike Eradicate~Me, I think the rating and the comments were a tad harsh.
The writing wasnt so hot, nethier were the pictures, but I always thought ratings this low were for pictureless BGH reports vs 1 comp written by no names titled "MOST EPIC BATTLE" (and he believes it).
Anyways "imbalance" quote was funny, the rest was just poorly written. Wasnt a good game, and no amount of homosexual confessions could save it. The pictures we just ugly.
In the future go for a more simple look, concentrate on making a "clean" BR. You dont have Cynical Magicians talent, I dont recommend going for a ten. I know that sounds strange, but picture collages and "witty" writing just doesnt work for you. A simpliar, "report the facts" with clean pertinent screen shots would give you a much better shot at a 6 or 7.
