| GG means good game right? So technically, you could say it any time you wanted to, if it's a good game. And don't most people say it at the beginning of a game too? If they said it there, and if gg implies the game is over, then something is wrong. |

| I have played SOOO many games where my opponent keeps saying "GG" but yet keeps fighting and it pisses me off to no end. I get a good attack going and they say "GG" like the game is over and they start talking but then maybe i flub a part of the attack and then it's not "GG" No more. They instead keep fighting and hope that through my flubbed attack they may have a prayer in a counter. I have no memory of such a loss but I am sure something like that has happened to me before. When you say "GG" then I feel it means that you concede. I NEVER ever say "GG" and keep playing because by the time I DO say "GG" I am completely dead and I leave the game probably within seconds of uttering the "GG". |

| Also another point is that what can be related to this incidence is also people who are equally if not MORE annoying. The motherfuckers who fucking CONCEDE WAY TOO EARLY! You know what im talking about....people who leave games over a small or minor setback. I think you all know what Im talking about....most all the people I know who say "GG" but keep playing are the exact types of people who have a minor setback and already call the game over. |

I don't know how many times the same thing happens to me.. for example, pvt on temple, terran is contained, has like no minerals left to mine, and can't leave his base, so says gg. Me in my naivete thinks this means he's ready to roll over and attack him with everything. 15 seconds and 156 supply worth of goon soup later, his practically unharmed 30 tanks are unseiging and taking out all my bases while his scvs and floating cc are already en route to an empty base.
ASDFUUUUUU ppl who say gg as a trick to win a game you lost >.<
not that that's what zerg did but still, in my books ter won that game. |

WOW, loadsa posts and loadsa fair comments EXCEPT that of TerranTurtle because if you leave when your opponent says gg then they get the win (and if you don't care about getting a win then there would be no issue anyway)
BTW would random_digit and Strider_28 want to do a re-match? Both were very competant players and would own me, so i'd LOVE to report on another game

c'mon ppl. it is easy to see that both sides have a point
(i hate being a mediator). But I personally believe that it is game over if gg is said. I mean, a "gg" is usually said in the beginning for hoping for a gg. in mid-game, its usually because of an attack being repulsed, but barely, meaning that almost all of your buildings would be destroyed. At end-game, its usually because there is an attack that there would no way in hell be repulsed, so you say "gg" for politeness, or if it happened to be a gg.
Basically, "gg" is a term used for good manner, not bad, like what random did. that was kinda bad manner. but i can relate when he says that he thought his attack would have been repulsed. Most ppl use this term to say , "i lose, but i enjoyed playing with you, good game". That is what I think the term is for.

well When I attacked terrran main ( about 2 mins after I said gg) all I had was 3 hatcheries and 4 drones and like 38 minerals. I truly felt like I had been beaten but he just left his troops in my x-main and didn't even scout for expansion. so I just threw what I had at him in a last ditch effort and i pulled it off. RANDOM good game man lets not be dumbasses about it and I can't wait for a re.

I can only think of one thing that hasn't been brought up yet with regards to the "gg" thing. Especially when you're playing amoung friends, it seems like it's kind of inconsiderate to continue to completely raze someone's base. Especially since you usually want to talk about the game afterwards, share vision, etc. |

its tempting to stop fighting and coast when you think your opponent is beaten. Dont! always spend your money! heartcutter says "always keep your account as close to zero as possible except when you need 400 minerals for an expansion. good game both and i look forward to BRed rematch. for this reason, i dont blame the zerg for his attack, it should have been easily repulsed.

Saying "gg" like thatw as a bit underhanded. Personally, if ur gonna say that, then the game is over. Now, if ur opp continues attacking after they say "gg", I say SLAUGHTER them!!, and when they get pissed off and leave after calling u a "dumb fuckin whore", or somethin like that, u should relax in knowing that u kicked their butt. Although, I DO have to admit that this IS a very interesting and underhanded trick.. kinda mischeivous.. >:). well, that's my two cents worth, hope ya'll feel the same way...
P.S. As a general rule, if they say "gg", and then attack, then KILL them with no remorse. If, they say "gg" and leave, then they really lost... Thx for listenin.. and LONG LIVE THE SC LEGACY!!!!!!!!! |

| Well, I think that it is a game of war, and as such all goes. But, it's also just a game. That makes it a very tough call, and I thinks it boils down to personal preferance. I tend towards letting the Terran player accept his defeat, he was folish enough to think he had won. I think the Zerg player didn't mean to throw him of, I think he himself though it was over. This is pure speculation, but either way, I feel it goes. The Terran player lost because he stopped advancing up the tech tree, and didn't continue building units. But thats just my humble opinion. |

Gotta give my 2 cents.
For Strider_28 it was (though I dont believe it was on purpose) bad manner. Many people say GG if they think they will own you with the next attack. Newbies that is.
