As for the report, i wouldn't call it useless spam because some effort went into it. But as the disclaimer says, no gosu strats, no pics, and its on bgh, and the game was sorta crappy too.

If there is no gosu strats no pics (which aren't a neccesity) and not much detail then why post it in the first place? You may've had a fun time playing it but it wasn't the best game to br. You'll know how to seperate a really good game from a boring game. Look at some of the 7+ reports on the site, and learn from them. |

Yay, a whole one person who has some sence. BGH isn't gay. It, truely, doesn't offer any stratgy or most skill isn't involved, but, don't you find it fun to 2v6 comps on it? | It was ok. I have issues with BGH too, but I'm also a newbie. It's kind of like playing baseball with a beach ball. Even though I'm a newbie, I'd rather swing and miss the baseball 100 times than hit the beach ball every time. |

Hmm....Not bad. Although I dislike the BGH theme, it's not THAT bad of a report. Yes, it had plot twists and such, but BGH requires no skill, no expanding, and no Gosu Strats whatsoever. However, it IS fun to BGH-Newbie bash =)
There are some basic rules to follow here...
1)NO BGH, unless you're a facking genius like drefsab.
2)No lost temple.

I thought it was a good report, and a good game, good job. And dont listen to the noidy (<-- ??) people who bitch about bgh is crap and all that. You were kind enough to say in the disclaimer what the report was, so noone has any excuse to bitch about the things you disclaimed. If you dont like reading bgh reports, then you only needed to waste your time reading 1 sentance to know to fuck off :)
On people saying it wasn't detailed/long enough, I thought it had enough detail to catch the feel of the game, and on bgh, individual units and micro doesn't matter nearly at all, so there would have been no point going into extreme detail on build orders or battles or anything.

It's perfectly obvious that we are an anti-bgh community who will literally tear apart any report that has bgh in it. A disclaimer is only a written sentence, people have every right to voice how horrible or how good a report is. You can voice your opinion, but br.com was no made upon these reports. With many of the previous 25 reports getting 7-10s, people's expectations are up. Also kitty, a warning about bgh was not in the 1 line disclaimer. Well, about the report, I must repeat what other people said, while the text showed a tad of promise, setting your br up on bgh is not the way you want to start here. Did you ever name the players at all? Go to clan ~nohunters, and observe some games to br if you want. Remember, everyone has humble begginings (exceptions: crackheadjeb, testosterone, drawesome, etc) |

| Please tell me now, I was a newb once. Who here wasn't a newb at some point in their playing experience with Starcraft? I remember starting out playing. I played comps (and lost many times too) and I played BGH ritually until I realized that it involved little or no skill. What I'm trying to say is that people don't all start out with godly skills, we learn them from the mistakes we've made. BGH is one of those mistakes. |

well said, ()vermind. I've been reading BR's on and off for a few months now, and have basically seen a heck of a lot of LT (and some dire, recently). True, I missed saying it was BGH in the disclaimer, but I did say in the very next sentence that the map was BGH... still time for you to bail before reading the report proper. =)
BGH requires very little skill other than macro, and while it is true that a lot of BGH strats would get you owned on almost any other map, I think that the main problem people here have with BGH is that micro skills basically mean nothing here. Well, I'm not going to argue the BGH line. I do understand that a lot of newbs play BGH, and that a lot of people feel that by removing the resource issue, BGH is not a real map.
As for 'newbies': the people I obsed were not awesome by any stretch of the imagination, but also not newbie. (Except maybe blue who saw the lord over his base but chose not to immediately prepare against rush.)
So to summarize, I've basically picked up that I should have more detail, and of course, the all-important pics. And that certain people would love for me to commit anatomically impossible acts. ;D

anyways, writing was not half bad! better than most text onlys i see. unfortunately game was pretty dumb (what i got from it anywasy) and players were bgh newbs <:[
also, pics were nonexistant. get better games, maybe some formatting etc and you could get pretty good scores! good games on bgh can get good scores (pics also help bgh games to see all the macro and death =o )

Next time you write a battle report that doesnt contain pictures, make certain to use more descriptive imagery.
For instance, you said "the yellow troops were turned into tomatoe paste." (sic)
First of all, what sort of tomatoe paste was this? Chunky? Smooth? Destined for pizza or lasagna?
Secondly, wouldn't yellow troops be more likely to be turned into summer squash paste, or something of that nature?
Next time, say this: "The white troops were mashed like new potatoes with buttermilk, until they reached the consistancy of whipped cream. Then you fold eggs into the soufle, and voila!"

| I suggest continuing to write reports, you show large promise in the text, but bgh is still not exactly the best thing to write a br on (unless for humor purposes ex: dref's bgh strats forgot to mention humor in my post) write another br, putting pictures in would help. Other unnecessary things are; a background, color coding the names of players, alt-text, etc. I look forward to your next attempt. /me cowers under dref, hoping his reputation keeps intact |

If BGH is not a map of skillz... then why will some ppl own more on BGH than others... -.-;; (shouldn't everyone be equally good then?)
Question you guys should ask yourselves: If you guys think that BGH requires no expanding whatsoever to win, then why don't you play vs. an equally good person as yourselves, BUT let him expand all over map while you get one base... and see who wins. I'm sure the results will surprise all you BGH-requires-no-skillz-or-expanding community.
Yes, BGH requires a little different strategy than another map such as LT or Dire, but essentially micro and resources make a HUGE difference still. (And I'm not sure if anyones still reads the comments section to this report :P)
Anyways, I own many players I know who hang out in x17 or NH, AND I play BGH (and almost all players I am better than don't). Does that make me a worse player? No. BGH is more fun and helps me practice my macroing skillz, THX :O |
