| as none of the pictures worked, you're either lying through your teeth, or everyone on wc2 bnet is sadly inept: "I win this game pretty easily, using a grunt rush." grunt rushing on NWTRNWTH is like 4pooling on dire, sure you might be able to use the units eventually, but the whole concept of a "rush" is denied because you can't get to your enemy. as aforesaid, you're either lying, or everyone on wc2bnet is so newb that something like that actually worked. my guess is you're probably lying. |

ok i actually read the whole thing and you're 100% definitely lying:
"The spell Blood-Lust tripples the orc units Attack and Movement speed, so it's absolutely needed to get Paladins and their Healing ability when you see them."
lust doens't touch a unit's attack or movement speed. what it does do is eliminate the range of damage that your unit does, so it only inflicts maximum damage with each hit. it doesn't tripple their damage. also the pala's healing is so tedious, casting it 1by1 on each unit, and actually casts slow, that it's not worth using at all. in all of my time on kali's st.louis server before bnet existed, i never saw a player worth his spit heal anything.

| err by "actually casts slow" i ment that the casting of the spell itself is very slow, not that it cast's the mage's spell "slow," just in case this idiot thinks that's what i intended to say. |

the damage modifier is different than how i remember it, but he said it tripples their speed, which it doesn't. he also said he made and used gryphons effectively to the point of costing the other guy the game.
this is another obvious lie, because if the other's micro was really as good as you say it was, he would've been able to get a nice pack of 9 berserkers in a heartbeat. 10 gryphons is hardly a threat at all. they're slow, they attack slow, they have bad range. you can't micro them. the fact that you say you had 10 makes it even more unbelievable, this means you had them broken into 2 groups. even if he only had 6 ogres left he could have run each of them into seperate directions with your gryphs chasing stupidly all over the map. even assuming you managed to gather them back into one spot, trolls build REALLY fast and gryphs move and kill things REALLY slow.

Maybe he assumes the definition of 'rush' on an island / walled-in map is separate from that of a land map?
Ie:
-Zergling rushing on Lost Temple could be a 9 pool.
-Zergling rushing on Dire Straits would require having to wait for Overlord transport, but could still be done on some scale.
Therefore, by the same logic:
-Grunt rushing on GOW would require a simple 1 or 2 Barracks build.
-Grunt rushing on NWTR would require stealthy build-ups and tree removal, but could still be done on some scale.
It makes sense Ana. It's not inconsistent. Perhaps because it's not a deathly repetitive Lost Temple strategy, and is slightly unorthodox, you refuse to accept its validity? |

i played and was way better at wc2 than i ever was at sc/bw.
you cannot "rush" in any way on NWTR. the trees make it impossible to make any sort of fast attack at all. the only way to get rid of trees quickly is with sappers, but their tech tree and cost isn't worth the time they'd save you. the fastest, albeit not very useful, way to mount a melee attack on NWTR would be to rush DK and decay and raise his peons, but skells aren't worth much other than annoyance.
the "grunt rush" refers to a very specific sort of attack the way "4 pool" does. it isn't "slightly unorthodox," it's like going sairs on proving ground. i refuse to accept the validity of something that rediculous. |
