matrix has improved this game soooo much!

#6: No, the game generates 4 seperate files (which detail information about forces/the map/combat/deployment) which I then send and they get put in the appropriate directory of the opposing player's comp. When they load the game, they get the option to load that game, and when they do, it just presents them with their next turn (in this case, my opponent will be purchasing his forces and deploying them on the map).

Wow I just remembered I did a report on this battle in history. Too bad Ican only remember that the objective of the battle was to capture the town of...Brussel Sprouts...Been Pole...I don't know it started with a "b" :)
The whole point of it was to gain the crossroads at that town to cut off allied troops and then move on to the port of Antwerp which was effectively the only major port under allied control. So if they had won they might have been able to sue for peace. The whole thing ended up being stopped dead because Hitlet thought he would do a classic Blitzkreig, just without the Lutwafe and through deep snow and into a pretty heavily fortified possition...hmmmm...oh well he wasn't remember for being a genius now was he? |

| I thought the game lloked cool, so on Sunday night I started downloading it. 27 hours later, when I got home form work Monday, I started unzipping the files. After all the upgrades etc. I sat down to start the tutorial to figure the game out. So far, the game has potential. I am a huge fan of games like Risk and Axis & Allies, but they are limited in their options, as there are only so many different objectives. There appears to be tons of different mini-games for this (just like Starcraft), so I can't wait until I get off work tonight and continue bombing the shit out of Germany with my tanks. Just spent some time playing the game and so far it seems very good, also gives me perspective on how he is right now.
And my opinion is that at best he might be able to take the first two opjectives but that's about it. And the only way he could hold them would probably be by his opponent walking all his tanks into marx's tigers and then getting the rest of his known infantry wiped out by his artilery. But of course that's just my opinion...and I've only been playing it for about 5 days :) |

Since everyone (including me) is speculating about the score, and whether I can win anything other than a morale (ie fake) victory... consider this... the front three group of objectives have 4+4+5=13 victory hexes between them. Each hex has given my opponent 15 points per turn... so thusfar, not counting the losses inflicted on me, the Americans have (15 * 13 * 6)= (takes out calculator) err... 1248 points... in addition, he's probably toasted about 1000-1500 points of my equipment...
Meanwhile, I've probably inflicted about 200 points of losses on him... that gives an aggregate score of 2500 to 200... a marginal American victory... thing is though, he's prolly going to hold the victory hexes for a bit longer, and the 'at end' victory objectives as well, which could probably bump him up into the decisive victory range... :(
I need objectives now!!! I shoulda used a map hack against those mines... :( |

Woo a Steel Panthers game!! My friends around the neighborhood and I used to play SP a few years ago. We played it all the time! Glad to see there are other fans =) And at BR.com of all places!
Here are some suggestions:
Keep artillery bombardment going on the back (Western) American positions. The more they are bombarded, the more suppressed they will be. Keeping their Suppression level up is key - it will lower accuracy, increase chance of surrender and retreat, and lower movement. At least that way you won't have to worry about infantry Assaulting your precious expensive tanks.

88mm HEAT King Tiger rounds OWN =) They're so accurate too. I haven't played too much World at War (only a couple campaigns), but in the old Steel Panthers I would sacrifice halftracks to find mines and attract enemy fire. Then it's up to the tank destroyers and heavy tanks to deal the damage. Rushing halftracks up to the front lines will also increase artillery accuracy by a bit, but if the halftrack is destroyed your crew's Suppression level will be irreparable, and if infantry is as important as you believe it to be, that might not be such a good idea =) |

As far as I can remember, your Allied enemy won't be able to use his aircraft for the remainder of the battle. You should be fortunate though that he didn't target your artillery! Make him pay for that mistake. What you can also try with your artillery is using Smoke rounds to screen the areas of the map you aren't attacking. At least then you'll be able to more easily capture some objective points.
Always remember to pivot your tanks after every turn =)

Today on teh 18th of Aug. 2oo2. I damand a update. Nah I don't rely care but I would like some closure as my doctor always said before he killed his kids and wife, who by the way was quite hot and I knew she wanted me I mean come on you don't drees in a string bikini just to borrow a cup of sugar, and she didn't even return the cup.
I mean thats just low, Why would you borrow a cup of sugar, In a bikini and then steal the cup it was in. And that particular cup was important as it was the last thing my grandmother gave me before she had the unfortunate accident.
I mean how where we suppose to know that old people can't swim fast againts a rip tide, I'ts not that it's very hard to gargle out help or stop or police.
Any way What I'm trying to say is that I need closure and I know that you funnymarx have enjoyed my reports before so in conclusion Update plz.
