I am just like you. If you suck at Starcraft, you get better. Look around on the net and you'll find a whole bunch of info that could help you. I suck too but that does not stop me from playing.
#2 Mark4[3433]
Mind, it sucks to lose. Everyone knows it. I knew it after ahscar slapped me around like a little girl last night. But winning at starcraft is a habit. It requires a bit of knowledge and timing, but anyone can learn it. It's not natural talent, it's a way of thinking. If I gave up every time someone beat me, I'd have missed out on a year's worth of fun from the game.

Some people are going to be better, or luckier on any given day. It's always true. But keep in mind, zerg pretty much own toss on lost temple. I played prozerran (not FLS) there last night (that guys allready 1100+) and with all my cheese tricks, I had 200 supply of fully upgraded ground and I couldn't break even one of his expansions throwing it all at him. Literally. I had a control group of dark templar, one of zealots, 6 archons, control group of goons, 6 templar... all at 3/3/3 and I couldn't get past one damn choke. I was so pissed 100 free supply later I just psi raided the hell out of the expansion and went carriers. What an ugly game...

Wait, I did have a point. Zerg eats toss on lost temple. Accept it. Zerg units are better than toss for the money, and they get the easy natural expansion on the double hatch so they will have more money. =[

And I bet if I trained you that you'd be 1100 and winning 85% of your public games in a week =]

#3 JSH[3434]
Hey Mark, will you train me? :D Just kidding, I've already made 1100 and win 85% of publics. ;)
#4 Tanglebones[3437]
If you suck and hate to lose, why play ladder? Were you just hoping that your opponent would also suck, that he would not hack or disconnect on you, that he would be good but make some critical blunder that would allow you to win?

If it upsets you that much, don't set yourself up for a big whoopin...

#5 Mark4[3439]
But you're a newbie hunter JSH.... =]
#6 Serephina[3463]
Okay, MindTwist, let's see what went wrong here (other than u getting owned :) First off, his attack force if of 2 zerglings, and he has awsome recon into the start of middle game due to your lack of early goon sand his Olord. His motile ground forces are at first drasticly out-matched by yours, but by the time you attack, the situation is reversed. At the same time as he is out-producing your ground, he's also teching up like a whore, then puts together a decent-sized airfleet.

hmmm. Sounds like he got a early exp going, possibly a double-hatch right after that pool; either that or he made good use of his resources [2+ drones per min patch, 4 per gyser(s?), spending all his resources down to 0 consistantly] while you where twiddling your thumbs.

3rd off; Why reavers? At the time, u had uncontested ground dominance, so he was either gonna start amassing a horde and gonna swarm ya in a couple of minutes, or he was gonna circumnavigate your grond domiance w/ air (which he did). Either way, templars sounded like a much better choice for it's versatility(storm those possible hydras or storm/archon those mutas), not to mention that Psi Storm can nastily absolutly all PvZ battles.

Hope this helps, I'm looking for critisism on my critisism :)

Laughin' at ya,
Sere

How many times do I have to keep telling people that newbies find ME! I really don't go out looking for them. Well maybe I do, since I play SC instead of BW mostly. Didn't any good players stay in SC?!?!?

By the way I have a cool BR to write, hehe.

#8 Mark4[3471]
Hey I did train Johnny to the standard I mentioned above. When I first met him he was a 800+, win less than half his games player, and only through my great mentoring skill was he made into what he is today.

Oh wait, that was me, and Johnny was the trainer. Well, all he did was mention that I shouldn't play ladder drunk. Guess that's all it takes.

#9 Mark4[3472]
Doh. Forgot my obligatory Johnny=god.

You don't know how many 1300-1400+ players have challenged him because I insist on saying that =].

#10 Mind Twist[3486]
actually I played ladder hoping for a 4-pooler :|
#11 Mind Twist[3487]
and also, how do you 'train' people to play sc? i don't see how that's possible
#12 Mark4[3495]
You tell them build orders. You tell them counters. You give them the timing orders for macro. You play a few team melee games with them and have them watch your strats. Macro principles are easy to learn, but most people never really pick them up on thier own. Same for the timing orders. You play some 1v1 with them and 2v2. I can give you an order for protoss on dire that would get you to 1100 in 4 games or less. =]
#13 Mind Twist[3496]
timing orders? ack.. if supply is 2 * (command center + barracks) make a suply depot? stuff like that?
#14 Mind Twist[3498]
wtf, im the one making the short comments and everyone else has long ones. I don't know why I didn't make templar.. I forgot about his mutas and was thirsty for his ripe peon line.. but 1 spore, 1 sunken, and 3 mutes ends a reaver's life pretty damn quick!
#15 Mark4[3499]
Mine are a little simpler. They mostly involve macro functions and leave your units to yourself.

is troop count> 1000/500 and resources is 450+ then expand and so forth.

#16 mind 1nce more[3500]
well, i know the spore doesn't do anything... but it hurt the shuttle and gave him warning of what is coming
#17 mind again[3501]
I've decided im gonna go for the longest comment string from the poster of the story. if it's island, mark, I probably couldn't do it no matter how fast/effective it is. I am the worst microer alive without the help from my slow isp, p120 dinosaur, and a skippy mouse that sometimes refused to go where I tell it :) and I guess I'm pretty bad at spelling and typing right now, too.
#18 Mind Twist[3519]
Mark4, that sounds more confusing than the timing order stuff on agent911's site. i guess i understand it tho, you have spent over 1000/500 on troops, have enuff cash, so expand?
#19 Mind Twist[3520]
or you have 1000 of a unit and 500 of another?
#20 Mark4[3546]
What it means is that you have 1000 min 500 gas worth of whatever ground troops you need. If you allready have an expansion, you would need 2000/1000 before expanding, etc. This is just an example of course.
#21 Mind Twist[3548]
heh, that's above my head. well, i can't find my BW cd case (b4 i went on vacation it somehow got a crack on the plastic cover thing, and i was so sad i put it somewhere to wait to be repaired and left it there, but i don't remember where!!) wow.. reminds me of what i do in sc sometimes, send a unit somewhere and forget about it, lol.
#22 Mind Twist[3582]
wow, this was a long day, even thouah I woke up at 12 30. Mark, if u feel like trying the impossible (making me a good-decent player you're open to try, but from my standpoint it seems at the least a very tough job
#23 GhOsT~LiZarD[3583]
hey mark can u train me dude, I'm already pretty good so it won't take long just gimme some good stuff:)
#24 Mark4[3584]
Find me this weekend mind. I guarantee some skills =]
#25 Mind Twist[3594]
k, Mark. good, weekend. I can only play LAATTE on weekdayz (Well, a little in the afternoon). hehe
#26 feesh[3634]
He he! Yeah! Getting your troops stuck is a bitch!
