Okay, i didnt read this just because I did not have the energy to. If you are going to make a no-pic report, here are a few things you must do.
1) Use HTML. White background = NO THX. Use a black background, or even better, a ripped off CB background ;)
2) You need a flashy title/name, or something
3) Use a bunch of weird graphic things, like arrows, bullets, or lines. |

As for the report, your computer cannot be "too slow" to carry html. HTML is simply command text, and if your computer can log on the internet, and has Wordpad or Notepad, you can do html. In fact, you can do html by simply typing it into the submit report thingy.
For example, you want to make your text a different color, which imo is the easiest thing to do.
Just do this:
<font color="green">This text would be green if this wasn't a comment</font>
See? Simple. Just go to the reporting guides (on the left had bar)for help on html. |

And as for the content....I read it all, and it was ok, but it was really just....blah blah.....TvP.....Lost Temple.....blah.....
If you want to make a good report, do an SC report that is not on Lost Temple. Or a WC3 report that is not on Lost Temple. And 1v1 PvT is something to be avoided as well.

this was surprisingly not a bad read. I usually shudder at the the thought of all-text reports, but this was at least a little informative, not like the usual crap. I agree with joker, your comp cant be "too slow", just check out the guides for cool stuff like the <hr> tag and other crap. Although I would give this a very low rating, I believe your next report might have merit. GJ for an all text.
As for pop_killer, stfu and make ur own sc report or just wait for the next poohandler one. You don't have to go fucking ruining peoples comment sections just because ur too imcompetent to make ur own report. |

If I may.. it's really not that people who complain about reports should shut up and make their own or otherwise quit bitching... although that might be nice. I'm not sure we would WANT to read reports from all the people who only offer "this sux" comments to first-time reporters.
What these people SHOULD instead be capable of realizing, however, is that nobody who submits a br to this site owes them ANYthing, not even pictures in their reports, because it is something the reporter is doing on his free time for his own interests. And instead of whining when their exacting standards of entertainment are not met, these people should instead be grateful for what they do get, and through constructive criticism and feedback, try and encourage the development of talent so their supply of quality brs may continue.
Other than that, I essentially agree with LameJoker #8-11. Read the guides and give it another shot with some pictures and HTML next time. |

I think SC/WC creates a folder within the game folder for screenshots taken in-game, so look around in there if you don't know where they're turning up.
As for doing HTML, when go to the main BR.com page, look to the left under the section entitled "Help", the Guides section has at least two guides for basic HTML formatting stuff and several others for general report-writing tips. For more detailed help and stuff not covered there (background tags, it seems, are not mentioned in either FiberOptik's or CaughtNaked's HTML guides..hmm...) I reccomend the Peachpit Press Visual Quickstart Guide to HTML by Elizabeth Castro (a book, which they might have at a local library... HTML is a valuable skill to learn too so you might alternatively consider buying it at a store) or otherwise searching online for free HTML guides, there a plenty of em. I found at least one promising looking one by putting a search through Google,

That might offer some more help. If you've still got more questions, I'd reccomend asking around the forums.. there are (a few) helpful people here with more than enough spare time to answer them.
As for your specific question about backgrounds, you want to use the <BODY> tag at the beginning of your HTML, typing <body bgcolor=xxxx> will set the color. That xxxx can be replaced with one of 16 predefined colors (ripping straight out of the back of the Peachpit Press book here) like black, red, white, etc, or with precise hexadecimal color settings .. stuff like #FFFFFF, for example.
That probably won't make sense until you read up on the HTML guides, I'm guessing though. |

| While the shots do go into the folder, there is a major problem with starcraft, as it saves the pictures in .pcx format, which is almost as huge as .bmp, maybe even bigger. That's the major problem I have with screens in Starcraft, because its not uncommon to have 600 mb of screenshots by the end of the day. |

Hmmm...
This report was big on nostalgia. The only thing I can think of is to work the reader's own nostalgia into the report.
Aside from that, props to those who took the time to help this author out; hopefully things will get better. A 4 on a stream-of-consciousness all-text report isn't the end ;) |
