Ah man, things are ALOT clearer now. I understand what you're saying, and I completely agree. Your list of paper genius attributes? They PERFECTLY describe the experience I recently had with one! Lost has accurately defined what a paper genius is. Now let's work together to nail them.

| #7, to be totally honest, I have absolutely no idea. I am going off of an educated guess as to when the public was first able to really "surf" the internet, based on my knowledge that the a large network of colleges had an "internet" in 1986, and that I remember playing warcraft 2 over the internet somewhere around 1996, and I know that it had been around a while before then. The "histories" aren't actually based on any fact, and are more allegorical than anything, so I cannot vouch for any historical fact that they may allude to as being based on actual events. |

OK, I have to tell you that I like what you are trying to do. I thought the first piece was very well written and enjoyable too, but was a little turned off by your attitude towards comments.
After reading the second piece I definitely agree with you on all counts.
Be careful that you don't take feedback the wrong way. I was trying to help you, not just correct you. The irony of my comment amused me, so I tried to amuse in return by making a joke out of it.
GJ. If nothing else, I respect the effort. In the future you should ask to save comments until the end. I think you'd get gold for this if the raters saw the global picture.

...And I believe the internet was started around 1968 as a government project called AARPANET (sp?), which was designed to keep a live network of computers up accross the nation in case of a nuclear attack.
The designers had to be sure that all other computers stayed up if one went down. The result was a massie peer to peer network that was perfect for sharing content. By the 80's it was in wide use in the private sector - a result that the designers never anticipated.
I think that HTML was first implemented in the early 90s; that's the internet we know.

Actually I guess I came across more seriously than I intended as well, as I meant my previous comment directed towards you to sound markedly sarcastic, however it appears that I failed.
Also, I would like to point out that my opinion of someone who shares their knowledge with the intent to educate is in no way a paper genius. I guess I'm being too general with some of my comments? This is the second comment I've gotten in which the poster is not sure if simply using their education to the level that they are comfortable with is being pompous or a paper genius, at least as far as the definition of this paper goes. In my personal opinion, knowledge is not something to be ashamed of, and should never be looked at as a weakness.

I think some one who shares their knowledge with the intent to belittle for the sake of their own ego would meet your definition of a Paper Genius, whether it be through grammatical correction or anything else.
Given the subject matter of your essay, I was trying to avoid being taken that way. I try to make it a point to be objective and give honest feedback (positive of negative), and only leave feedback if I think it is of some value.
It's just a shame when misinterpretation goes awry. I almost responded earlier, but saw no reason in fueling that flame. I appreciate your response.
'Nuff said about all that. Good job...it's an enjoyable read, and whether the reader agrees with everything or not, it should be judged as such. |

hehehe, now everyone in this comment section can't post a criticisem (sp?) without saying they're not a "paper-genius".
btw, I was wondering what exactly you mean by the term "paper genius". Is it referring to something that looks rough tough and buff but when you test its strength, intelligence, ect it just collapses aka "paper tiger"? |
