That was great. This was the first time I let out a giggle since Cattlebruiser's BR on the Sinkhole. The pics were decent, but the humor was better than most, an outline/border on the pics would have done wonders, but still very good. I had to skip the last half of the report because I have to get going to school.

Ah... yes. I agree the pics are borderline crappy(heh), but I was already using the grey borders/lack of editing for a while when I realized that and I decided I'll just change the style next time around. I'll be trying to have just a few pictures that are more illustrative of what's going on. Less pics means I can pay more attention to making them look good. I'll also never do a 3v3 again. Those things are hard to keep track of!

Thanks for the 9+ ratings guys... speaking of which, does anyone know when the raters put up their scores? is it like only on weekends or something?
I've been skimming through the site for some of the stuff i've missed over the years, and there a lot of damn fine reports, many of which were much better than my lonesome 10, but only 9s or whatnot. So the standard has been raised quite a hefty bit.
Which makes me think "uh-oh.... there goes my lifetime rating..." :D At least I had it for 3 years straight LOL! |

The staff page is misleading, to say the least. Just about every rater is inactive (some more inactive than others).
I've had a policy of not rating Warcraft 3 reports because of my lack of knowledge of the game (I only played it for a couple of weeks after its initial release), but if no one else takes the initiative in rating this, I'll read through it and base my rating on the report's technical merit if you wish.

Well, as far as knowledge of the game goes, you haven't a problem with my report, since there are only a handful of references that require knowledge of actual WC3-related gameplay. And those references are all dumb jokes. The rest is just... well it's just the regular RTS gibberish, mostly.
As for rating, I'm not in any hurry. I see the other reports all got rated in time, so I'll just sit patiently and wait til any of the semi-active raters take a look at it. But thanks for the offer! Feel free to give it a run-through if you have time. |

I really, really like this report. Your ironic writing style fits this report perfectly, and there were no noticeable spelling/grammar errors. The pics were also nice (I didn't see any stretching or obvious pixellation) and were fitted into the report like a hand in a glove.
And you wrote yourself as the bad guy. That was a VERY nice touch.
In fact... I really can't think of anything to add to this. The only thing that comes to mind is that you lacked regular updates, which caused me to be lost. I remember asking myself "His opponents have witch doctors? When did that happen?"
Then again, I do remember laughing in class and getting into trouble because of it, so it was worthwhile. :) |

I wasn't too crazy about your layout, but everything else is just about flawless. This is the most entertaining report that I have read in a long time.

Very sorry to post so many times but i finished it.
It's okay... I really don't think it deserves a 10 though. The only 10 I saw was one of MuLepton's and was very long, detailed, and the backgrounds were more detailed. This one seemed kind of... biased? And why did you say you were evil? Attempted joke? I knew you'd win from the outset, so it wasn't very exciting.
Probably better than what I'd do but I think it's an 8.5 or 9. But I'm not the one with the power to rate thank goodness hehe. |

It wasn't an honorary 10. When the rating system "works", every rater is representative of a cross-section of battlereport readers. If it didn't work out like that, you'd never see an overall report rating that's between a 9 and a 10. An overall report rating of 10 means that it's a flawless report that satisfies everyone.
In my eyes, a report does not need flash movies and images with an overabundance of layering effects to earn a 10. Truly great writing is a rare commodity here, and I have always tended to reward that over all else.
That's how I see it, anyway.

Eh? Ok, this is somewhat amusing, but I am who I say I am, and I'll offer some proof.
I don't know if Mark4 still hangs out here (I'm guessing he does), but back in the SC days, there is one thing I learned from him, which turned out to be the only thing I was good at at SC, which was his Protoss 2-minute(that's an approximate time) Reaver drop on Dire Straits. Now I know I did mention Dire Straits on one of my earlier SC reports, but I don't think I mentioned
a)What I do to beat all those @#$%ing Zergs (Reaver drop)
b)Who taught it to me (Mark4)
And now I just told you.
Also, I only remember writing three reports, ever, and only one as 'greyhoundbus', so there ARE no "all the very good reports back when they were ahead of their time", just the one. You might be confusing me with one of the legendary reporters of old (why, thank you!).

i read the report halfway through only to see humor factor because 'greyhoundbus''s first report on sc years ago was great.
it was okay, sure. annoying format and stuff which really lended negatively to my view of the overall report.
the speech bubbles were horrid. only one or two were actually funny. using speech bubbles in just about every picture is far overdoing it.
don't know if it's the original "real" greyhoundbus or not, but i am not impressed by the report and quite dissapointed. |
