Very Stylish design and graphics, but not always timed well enough to show the best action. I wish people wouldn't design so wide, but at least you had the decency to open in a new window.
Very clever writing and observation, but I have to tell you that your writing didn't always flow for me. I think you could use a little more proofreading, but please take it as a given that I am very impressed.
But all things considered, it was insightful and gave me some good ideas for playing human casters (I'm terrible with them); a good report about a 1v1 played by comparable players - and reported as a WC3 game, not a Starcraft Broodwar game played in WC3.

I liked the layout and the pictures. In contrast to #19, I think the screenshots were decent for War3 because they actually were showing the battle action. Oftentimes there's a picture but it doesn't really convey how the battle looks.
The game was good too, the only complaint with this br would be a few grammatical mistakes (namely, leaving words out of sentences)
Level 6 Mountain Kings are scary. Those battles must've lasted pretty long for one of them to die. Also, why no gryphons?

Why do people think mass casters is a bad think? It's human vs human, there isnt much you can do effectively to win an evenly matced game, rifflemen/priest doesnt come even close to stop it, same for griffon/priests(not to mention to expensive for the hmnVhmn game imo) and i'd rather get in the casters bandwagon and win or lose in equal terms than use an outright inferior tactic. Not to mention you have to micro blizzard the whole time and focus firing/shift clicking riflemen is just an extra pain in the ass.
The problem with sappers is you cant cast invisibility on them and they dont have enough health to survive more than half a second of focus fire, so using them against units is a borderline tactics, you have to catch your opponent not paying attention and have his army focus on something else while the sappers do their thing. And mercs on this map, theres just too many of them, there was a replay of tillerman around 1.04 winning a game whith mass reqruited trolls and ogres. |

Back when I could play War3 regularly I had a decent record of beating mass caster human with footmen/knight/pally. The pally goes shield/devotion and ideally has an inventory consisting of 1 obligatory TP, 3 neg wands, and 2 scrolls of healing to counter blizzard/clap damage. Fast +2 or +3 attack for the knights and foots (dev of course reduces the need for armor ups).
Ideally, the defending foots and shielded pally rush in first to draw their attention and the knights are either force moved past them and used to flank or circled around by another root to come in from behind. That done, as long as buffs are kept down to a minimum via good aim with the wands, the superior damage and hp of your own units should pull the win.
Again, this is an ideal hero setup with an ideal battlefield, but I want it to be known that it IS possible to beat human mass caster as human with something other than a mirror match. |

| Wow haven't been here in a long time. Great report dial, yours was the first one I went to. I think its either a high 8, or a mid 9. 10? probably not because the game wasn't long enough ;) but add a flash movie and youd prolly get it, since your pics and writing is pretty sick. And there are plenty of alternatives to mass casters, including the footie priest strat that a lotta high level people use. (which is what your opponent started off with). |

couple comments on the game: first off dial, i think you would have been better doind a blizzard rush w the mage while teching, rather than solo creeping.
secondly i do agree with the statement that all you can really do in HUvsHU is mass casters. its just one of the boring matchups, somewhat like the mass goon wars in PvsP |

The problem with footmen/knights build is that it takes a lot of gold and a lot of time, and you pretty much cant go through without eventualy getting inner fire. Get found out early and you'll spend most of the time running from mass sorceresses, between slow and bolt/clap and footmen on defend while the caster massing human can get an early expansion thats impossible to stop.
Redemption, i doubt he was going footies/priests, he would have made a blacksmith and/or get defend. Btw the game was 30 minutes long, normal for a warcraft game, and i didnt bother detailing every creeping route and tiny drop, maybe thats why it looks short.
I only rarely hero rush, and thats only when im screwing around with nelf or orc, blizzard rushing was the last thing i had on my mind, i dint even bother scouting early on. You're right though, blizz harassment would have been a better idea considering that early creeping outcome with mage during early game is horrible anyway. |

| uhhhhmmmm, nah, Dred, it wouldn't work (IMO). I think it would just make casters in WC3 moot, because you always need way more than you do in SC, (compare having 6 templar to having 6 master priests) so casters just wouldn't be cost effective without a normal attack. Besides, it can be just fun to smack someone around with mass Druids of the Talon ;). |

| I agree with #13, that you should haev to work for spells that tip the balance. slow should be like blizzard in sc... if you work, and you get lucky/good, you can winthe game with it. #37 said HvH is like pvp in SC... well no. in pvp you can do many things to win (reavers, early drop, dt, goon & storm, early attack w/ micro... | You can micro a mountain king with a cloak of shadows to clap ghouls then hide and avoid getting surrounded. Your examples of sc play on pvp don’t really make a point, all you mentioned is early game builds, if the game doesn’t end right there it always goes to mass goons (usually)/hts or mass goons/reavers(sometimes). Not to mention you have the spells wrong there, slow is like nothing sc has, blizzard is (somewhat similar, but not quite) to psi storm. |

Using 1 unit isn't microing. Microing requires work, where you have to pay attention to multiple units, not click clap, click hide, clap hide, etc etc.
various early game builds is exactly why SC is better... it's called variety. and i didn't say the spells are similar, i said you should have to USe the spells, not haev the game hold your hand through it. blizzard IS psi storm, except not as powerful. The archmage is a lazy person's protoss (arbiter and templar).
regardless, the BR and its presentation was nice, the game behind it sucks. it's not your fault :) |
