ok, honestly i'm shallow and only read 5-6 paragraphs before skimming the rest of the report for captions and pretty pictures. i don't play the game, so i couldnt really appreciate it as much as bw or wc3. i couldnt tell a good Fallout game from a bad one. reguardless of that though, the writing was very well done (first 6 paragraphs at least, though i doubt your writing instantly crapped out), and the pics were top notch. for a minute, i actually considered hopping on kazaa and downloading a copy of this.
anywho i'll come back later tonight and read the rest. 10 |

| Too short for a ten. I think that most ppl at this site are unfamiliar with this game, so you have to explain it a little more. Umm I skimmed most of it, I liked the pictures. (you used the blimp picture twice). Id say 8-9. |

Ahhh the entire nights spent playing Fallout 2...
Tactics actually looks the same graphically, but is the gameplay different? For some reason I think I recall one of my friends mentioning it's real time. Is that true?
Anyhow the game is great, as in must have. I loved the pics and I could follow through because I know how the game works. I found a few speling mistacks but nothig badd.
I really think you should have included an animated gif of a raider being torn to shreds (thats the best part of the game). Part 2 right?
If you give someone enough skill points for small arms it can be better than energy weapons, just clog em' in the eye with a magnum >=D.

IcE-Inforcer it's completely different, the same basic ideas arre still there, skill/attribute system and the same items with some additions, but its a mission game. End one mission, move to the next and you just slaughter 99% of everyone you meet. -.-
The game is played on real time but there is an option to switch to fallout type turn based, but it seems a little slow paced for the game.
All in all, F:T is pretty good, and if you like the fallout universe you'll love the unfolding story on this one, even if it only shows up later in the game. |

| Great report on a great game. I like the way you presented the game, and explained it for people who havn't played. The only flaw is the length, it left me wanting more, which is good, but it left me wanting a lot more, which means it was too short =]. Another mission in there and you'd have been flirting with a ten. As it was, a high eight. And quit fishing Ling. |

This is the only Fallout game I don't have, yet it is the one I want the most. Make sure you take a screenshot of blasting someone at point blank with an AK-47 on burst fire - It looks cool.
BTW, I remember when I played the demo of Fallout 1 and I got blasted a point blank with a mini gun. I was decapitated from the waist up, and was hooked for life.

#21 Fallout 1 is really too easy if you ask me. You can get good weapons/armor way too fast. I would recommend Fallout 2 since I've never played Tactics.
Great report, but if thats the actual graphics i don't know if i'll bother getting Tactics, it looks about the same as Fallout 1 and 2.

For people that consider trying the fallout series and a semi-rant: The most amazingly well crafted part of both the original fallout and fallout 2 is the story, character development and how well these two blend together. You can be as good or as evil you want and you will feel the effects of your reputation in the wasteland, from town to town and from different types of persons. For example a slaver group might attack you on sight if you're a know slaver hunter, or they might trade with you if you belong to the actually slavers guild. In my opinions, the two Fallout games, along with Planescape: Torment are the best rpg games ever created, you actually take the role and feel the world changing depending on the choices you make.

In the subject of whether it's better to start with the first fallout or jump straight to part 2: Fallout 2 does a great job in explaining everything that you need to know about the fallout universe, but you'll just be missing too much of the history and story development. The first fallout is amazing, the second one will just have you playing over and over again for the character development and depth.
Another thing. Both the fallout games are just huge. There are so many things to do, I’ve played through fallout 2 at least 5 times and would -always- end up finding a couple of new quests to complete or things to do differently.
Anyway since people think this one was too short I'll see if I can wrap up the raider part of the storyline in the next one and throw in some mutant action. o:

Fallout 2 is one of the best games Ive ever played.
A rare masterpiece that gets it right on all levels, gameplay, graphics and story.
Fallout 1 is to easy, if you get it just make a character with 10 Luck...Trust me ;)
Fallout 2 is a bit more challenging... |
