Okay, I read it. Semi-amusing, but too short. I would have prefered some more game-mocking jokes, and less of the nigh random humor style. Oh well. Alt text was fun, at least.

The coding was fine too, except for the obvious color problem. Next time, check to see if it works on ALL browsers.

since this is six material, you can probably forget any association i'll ever make in the future with battlereporting. the standard that "longer is better" is something that i hadn't anticipated, even if i mention it's going to be a series, and even if i mention it's intended to be short.
there is no way i can possibly improve upon this, and i would hate to waste your time and bandwith submitting sub-par reports under the impression that they were at least minimum gold material. looking back, i can see the obvious comparison between this report and other six-rated reports. you have my apologies for reporting, and it won't be a mistake that i'll make again. |

I would recommend refining your humor. I would also very much recommend making it longer. And as a final note, I would probably choose a more, hmm, reportable game. Zelda doesn't really lend itself to any real "reportage", it just gave you source material. Which is fine! I love the funny. I just found the funny in this report a bit lacking.
Perhaps it's my own taste. In your shoes, I would probably read some humor that seems your style -- Dave Barry is a great example.
I think a lot of your problems here with finding enough of the funny is the game material. One can only write so long about the idiosyncracies of zelda before it becomes a bit trite. Not to say you should stop this series, but I'd recommend you advance farther in the game so it presents you with more material.

... The joint report you made with Blitz was, in my opinion, better than this. You can do better than this report. However, it was good. But to someone who hasn't toughed a Zelda game in is life, not so good.
As to the continuing rater debacle (ongoing from a couple of previous reports, I think --;; ): Like I've said before, if you're proud of your report, then feel proud of it. Sure, some people won't like it, but you made someone's day just a bit better by posting it. And that's what battlereporting is all about, right? |

Goldrush - not really. Reports get a 9.something when some raters think it's worth a 10 and some don't. I don't think anyone gives ratings in order to get a good average score. It would be bad manner.
In any case, I thought this report deserved an 8. It was darn good, it was funny. It felt like there could be a bit more and be really great. I don't know what - luckily that's not my job.

is frankly rediculous. You got a 7.5. There is nothing wrong with that. And if you feel that getting one, ONE 6, is enough to end you're battlereporting career (or possibly ending this series, the statement isn't that explaintory) you're dead wrong. I did a report on Final Fantasy 3 (or 6, whatever its referred to as now) and got a six, but I also didn't get three eights. Just because Eldritch thinks this isn't an 8, do not feel disappointed. Christ, that is just no reason to stop reporting. Remember, gold is gold, even if you didn't get all sevens or all eights.

Ok I read this and while I didn't feel it was quite as bad as EE did, I didn't think it was as great as the others did. You report was basically built around your jokes/sarcasm and if they failed so did the report.
Overall I liked the jokes (hoisting the big key was good) but some were rather stale. It was a little short but thats not too bad. I'll say a 7. |

It happens, what can you do - everyone has different opinions on things. If you write the great american novel, there'll be those who hate it and those who love it.
