Very good writing, but like the other non-player commentators so far, I was lost. It sounds like a game of an immensely daunting difficulty.
Now I'm going to have to go and read those older w40k reports and see what all the fuss is about. |

Man I Hope I can get my tau army up for the next battle. Also the Hammerhead has a Railgun, which is a ion cannon with 2x the pwnage. But mostly this is a fair discripchon of the battle.
My only regret is that I forgot about my scout squad. |

If I could only get enough time to assemble my Tau...
BTW, rapid fire weapons can shoot twice 12" even if the move. If the do not move, they can shoot maximum distance, but only one shot each. |

im not a 40k fan, but i used to play the "space crusade" boardgame. This actually made me want to play a "mega battle" although the report could have been better, perhaps some added humour and minus the joke i didnt get..
also some kind of index for the units at the beginning or end so us 40k "noobs" can understand exactly what is in the fight
id give it 7 if i were a rater |

oh yeah, and did they really sing the star wars theme tune as the monolith was used?
cos that gives it serious minor points in my eyes :) |

Well, thank you to whoever gave me that rating! And yes, they did sing Star Wars as Dice was placing the Monolith. I looked back over it a few times and I think it was a bit too confusing. However, to put in the Army Lists for all the players would have made that section longer than the report. I will put in Army Lists for the units in my next reports. I have bought a Chaos Codex and am planning my army. (the Iron Warriors are a Traitor Legion that trust nothing but thier wargear and frown on Daemon summoning. They get an extra Heavy Support choice and some other cool bonuses) Be ready for explosions, gratuitous dakka-dakka-age, and a lot of Chaos Marines going down with Pulse Rifle rounds embedded in unmentionable places. |

Merloc and I are planning an introduction to 40K, him with his Chaos Marines, and me with my Tau. Sadly, neither of us have the !@#$#@! $50 rulebook.
Still, it should clear up some of the confusion about this BR.

Interesting read but as others said very confusing. Part of what made it confusing was how you would announce players names and then change it later on.
The intro was in some places detailed but missing in other places. (You seem to have missed DDs deployment until the game started. Only mention is a Basilisk in a comparison.) The sudden appearance of new units was also jarring. (Well, if you did not know about them in the beginning of the game then never mind.)
Minimaps would have greatly assisted in lessening the confusion on what was happening. Even if the map consisted of a pentagon for the fortress and dots for the units/squads.
I do not think I can give you a gold for this, but it was close. Here is a 6. |

On reflection, I have determined that the problem is Murloc was using a Greater Warhammer +3 of Confusion while writing this report. But big freaking weapons are just cool, so I think I forgive him, and will change my rating to an 8.
(I read it through again, and actually understood what was going on.) |

| after re-reading it my self I give it a 8 as well but no offense ude but you left a load of stuff out like what was going on over on the other side with the Tau and Tryinids vs the Marines and IG |
