| #1 Blank[4440] | | Simple, he wasted gas on Hydra's. (omni) If he spent his money just making more Muta's and zerglings, he could of easily of overpowered 12 Hydra's. Plus, he said he didn't attack-move (or better yet, focus fire) like he should of.
Mass Hydra's CAN beat Muta/zergling, but generally, it won't work out like that.
Your initial game, you spent too much on ling's, and got gas to late (IMO). If your going to 7-pool, your better off rushing him, not waiting that long. Your alot safer if you 9-pool. It'll give you a better economy, and quicker 2nd hatch. Get gas before your 3rd hatch=P Oh well, just my opinions...
Strange you should bring this up, Omni and I played an island map, in which he won with Mass Hydra drops compared to my Muta/zergling defense=) I spent to much on my scourges in a crappy attempt to "contain" him...=( I even had 2 expansions about to come online compared to his 0=P Sucks, no?
Blank | | #2 ralessi[4447] | | Well, muta/ling kills hydras. Not just mutas... You need to have the mutas engage the hydras and THEN run up the lings. Ling eat up hydras unless they have lurkers, but if they have lurkers mutas kill those =p.
| | #3 Amedda[4448] | | No, he only forgot to attack+move when it was Hydras vs Hydras on my attack on his expansion, not the first major battle. He only had Hydras after I barely won the battle. He didnt have any when he attacked me. Thats another thing, lurkers. I guess I coulda thrown in a couple to help against lings.
Island strats and land strats are different. On island, I'd go with major Hydra and Mutas to help expand and against other air units.
Rapid expansions always leaves you open, especially on islands. :). |
