fun enough but short and it felt kind of unpolished. namely most of the combat happened in like three paragraphs. i haven't played x-com so i dunno if this is typical and you didn't capture the intensity of micro managing to do something right in your writing or if it was a dull game but it didn't really feel that exciting.
i'm gonna throw down a 6 for this and hope you don't include a paragraph about the devil torturing me in your next report :) |

Nodikus and Psyonic_Reaver have been named. Yeah, I agree it's unpolished. I banged this out in a few hours, just to get it done. I agree that I tend to get a bit mechanical in my writing "He shot it and it died", which I'll work on. I'm going to spend more time on the next one, make it longer and get more screenies of the actual action, which I failed miserably at and really don't have a great excuse for, since its a freaking turn based game. I tend to get caught up in the action and forget I'm even writing a report.
Sorry des. If it makes you feel any better, in my only previous X-COM game I named soldiers after myself 3 times, and each one died on his first mission. I plan on doing 2 or 3 battles in the next report, depending on if one of them is a terror mission(they can get long). I'll consider myself very lucky if I can get through those battles only losing 2 to 3 people. |

I'm glad that this game confirms my ego in that I'm the best ever. Beware mortals, DeonPeon is on the scene.
Also, calling your own report a literary abortion in the introduction is a sure fire way to get people to click the back button. It read more like an advertisement for EE's reports than a report itself. |

Yeah, there's no better strategy than insulting your own work, as it gives you a little boost when it doesn't turn out too terrible.
Eumenides has been drafted into the ranks of X-COM soldiery, because its 11:28 PM and my wife just fell asleep so I snuck out of bed and I wanna play the damn game. The answer to the final question btw is(I think) is FLS's BGH FFA report. But its possible I'm wrong. |

I quite liked it, despite the brevity of it all. Of course, I was a fan of the original EE reports as well. Try putting a little more description into it, and some more compelling screenshots, and I'm sure you'll see the improvement. I'd probably give it a 7. |

| Gave it an 8 because it most certainly wasn't a 6. Gj on the report, ufo is a great game, too bad the newest "sequels" are all so horrible. Do consider to use zerg~ling's css report layouts for your next ones, it helps a lot. :) |

Okay, I read it. And I really liked it, about as much as I thought I would. This line made it, for me: "Nothing really stands out about micro." SO true. Unfortunately I got the female model, though. Typical.

I liked it, seemed just a bit below the level of EE's reports, me being only a casual report consumer. thought there was enough action going on, unless there were bits cut out, other than that what these other guys have said. Also, could i get a spot in the soldier list at some point, don't care what classification i get, aside from cannon fodder :)
Looking forward to the next one, will have to try this Xcom thing out. |

Well, if you are worried about names, perhaps we could offer several more of our own creation, or you could go back over old stuff and add the names there. Maybe after we die horrible horrible deaths, we could be like 'des 2' or something like that... keep track of how (un)lucky that name is, as well as give those who died a chance to get revenge.
And yay about 12 extra soldiers! I can't wait for the next report! |
