I enjoyed this. The writing flowed well.
I only ever played BFME (and BFME 2), not War of the Ring. I was always wary of the non-movie game adaptations after the console Fellowship of the Ring game (good god, that was bad). But I liked this report. |

Pretty good.
My biggest formatting complaint was that the report was a wee bit too wide. Although I am viewing this on a smaller monitor than I usually do, it still could stand to be some number of pixels thinner and still be quite readable. I'm all about externally linking, too, which will give you more freedom in that department (if you so choose). However, overall your HTML was solid.
I liked the writing but I don't think I particularly enjoyed the game. Although you were technically playing a fresh game that hasn't been overdone, in reality... it has been done, many times before. This game obviously wants to be more like War3 than War3 does. Same graphics, heroes... makes me wonder who developed it. Of course, a Google search could fix that, but... I'm not one for the Googles.
Because this game is so much like War3 but probably not as good, it makes it fairly repetitive to read about. Do a find and replace of the names of the heroes and units and you'd have a War3 report. I don't blame you for this, but I wish you would have tried to expound the virtues of this game over other similar RTS games, of which there are many. I'm sure everyone here has at least the movie-based knowledge of LOTR, so make sure we are drawn in by the lore, because to me it didn't look like the game itself has anything spectacular to offer other than the story it lifted from Tolkien. Make us feel like we're on an adventure, not reading a report about a third-rate game that probably uses the same code Blizzard uses.
Also, don't be afraid to try new things. I'm sure it's nearly impossible to get more than 10 people to comment on reports lately, so you need to go balls to the wall with your reports. If you must do a report on an RTS, for God's sake try to make it interesting. Give it a script, a back story, an interesting goal, draw huge dicks on your pictures... well, that last one has probably been overdone as well. But even if you fail miserably at trying something new... at least it won't be boring.
