You have my sympathy (a single tear rolls down my cheek)

LOL. I can't believe that tourney hasn't died off yet.

Lurkers in pairs can take down huge numbers of marines. As long as you outresource your opponent (which is necessary to win against any opponent). Place a zergling in front of your lurkers (outside of attack range) to warn you that your opponent is coming to attack. Usually, terrans will send a scout marine foward to find lurkers (pre-SciVessel), click on your two Lurkers and hit the 's' key repeatedly so your lurkers don't attack. Then, once all the marines are RIGHT over your lurkers, let'em rip.

As for when SciVessel's come out, Zerglings and Scourge. Your going to need Hive-level units to deal with M&M (IE Guardians, Defilers, Ultra's, I prefer Ultra's) anyways, so cracklings and scourge should work pretty well. Atleast ge the speed upgrade. THe only point of the zerglings is to draw gauss rifle fire from the scourge so they can kill the SciVessels. If the terran is REALLY smart, he'll run his scivessel around and "dodge" the scouge (that's really annyoning), you might want to try to ensare the vessel (and M&M too). Oh well, this is too long=P

takes a lot of micro, probabally one of the most micro in the game defending against m&m + sci vessel, I personally have lost to it numerous times in the last 2-3 weeks, once to GhOsT~LiZarD, 4 times to -=1999=- once to Fizban_ (last night) and omnipresent_one (once under a different name)

I've only effectively 'halted' it once, you need to have alot of spare zerglings, and atleast 6 queens, and they need the mana upgrade. Before anything (ANYTHING) use six broodlings in this order tanks-medics-firebats then assuming you saw this coming, unburrow lings right under there feet, and if his science veseel escapes, chase it down and parasite it. (people HATE those things) If you've succeded in doing this I suggest you counter one of there least defended exspansions with a drop and make sure you take out there geyser at the very LEAST, cuz if you can't deal with all the science vessels, then you've gotta limit his amount he can have. I sux with terran, so I rarely have more than 3 vessels, and they are all busy detecting lurkers, (which btw almost ALWAYS are cost effective vs terran unless they are using d-matrix on all there units./.

Oh, btw, before you take my tactics and consider them useful vs the guys at nohunters, remember that everynoe at nohunters is better than me. Period. I've only won twice, once cuz it was ffa turn 2on2 and our opponents had 1 near dead guy =] so we won =] (even thow we allied with the other person after she pissed us off, me atleast, by complaining about how the game wasn't 'fun' i should've told her 'you decided to play, no one is twisting your arm' oh well, atleast this person was not disconnected

Do you know how cool it is to have the majority of the posts?

I have to agree with these tactics. On a map like Temple, if you start at a bottom position, early expand. 2-3 sunkens and about 12 or so lings can hold off early rushes. For later rushes, you need lurkers, lings, some Hydras, and Ensnare. One time, this guy was right outside my base with about 30 mms and 6 vessels, no tanks. I went in and ensnared everything and sent my smaller force of about 10 Hydras, 6 lings, 5 Guardians, and 2 lurkers. He had careful use of irradiate but I managed to cut him down to about 5 marines and 12 medics. With reinforcements and more ensnare, I broke through.

You need to set scourge traps also. Place like 5-6 of them over your peon line and places where he would most likely go on irradiate raids.

Guardians are really needed. Early on, an attack on an expansion can be a huge pain in the ass with these suckers. Get scourge to take down wraiths and vessels that come near.

Ive rarely used Ultras, and I really need to. With armor upgrades and brooding tanks, they can cut through infantry with little support. All these other guys have the right idea.

Lol... I just got ripped last night in the Temple scenerio. It got to late game and midgame units WILL NOT cut it vs. tanks + medirines (3/3) + SVs. I had a TON of resources, but couldn't break it. After some thought, here's an idea. If you are able to get defilers, research consume and plague ASAP! Then if possible make some ultras or hydra... do not use lings unless you plan to use darkswarm. When you plague, make sure you send in troops to draw fire. If you think about it, one ultra or 2 should be able to take down an infinite amount of rines if the plague is successful. Hopefully they'll irradiate the Ultra too. ;-) Of course you could also use hydra (1 hit = 1 dead rine) or darkswarm + lings. Early medirines can be dealt with... it's the 2/2 and 3/3 ones that really hurt.. especially with 32434345 SVs. ;-)

Nice report.
Terrans are a bitch to deal with once they get all their toys to play with...ideally remove them from the map quickly & with extreme prejudice.

If you can't, it all comes down to unit balance.
You can't get away with solid hydras anymore...you just can't. You need a squad of 'lings to draw fire...hydras to deal the damage, lurkas to remove marines, scourge to take down SciVessels, queens to kill tanks ideally guardians defilers & ultras...but the scourge, queens & lurkas are the nessesary bits.

Hope that helps
"For the Overmind!"

All the best,

Personaly i favor the rare ultra....if you have enough cash and supply then you can spawn 9 of these at your home base while delayig the attack force..

Or

Dark sward, plague , cracklings... (need i say more)

Or a personal favorite of mine vs non-elite players....attack with 5-6 mutas from the rear or side and run in with lot'o'lings.
