| #1 Blank (228.hartford-06-07rs.ct.dial-access.att.net)[6319] | | Nice report, I still hate 2on2's though=P Try not to go so cannon heavy, nothings going to land on your island as long as you have cannons along the perimeter (no need to double up=P). A good Toss island defnse would be 2-3 templar, a gateway, and cannons around the edge (not side by side, slightly spread). so a small island on dire would take... I dunno, 8 cannons? Maybe more. If a toss is going to drop on an island with all those cannons, he'll either use d-web, or mass hallucinations (usually d-web) so making way to many cannons won't help much. Better spent minerals on Corsairs, shuttles, Goons, and reavers=)
heheh, maybe next time we play SoSo, I won't turtle as much=) *LOL*
Blank | | #2 Blank (228.hartford-06-07rs.ct.dial-access.att.net)[6320] | | err, side note, carrier rushing isn't usually a good idea versus toss=P
Blank | | #3 ralessi (tole-cache.dial.bright.net)[6331] | | | Well actually don't overdo it... 1 robo fact/gateway + 4 canons + 2 temps is fine... you can shuttle in more stuff as neccesary. | | #4 Serephina (iis.interconti.com.ar)[6370] | | Yes, there IS a guy called Maynard, and he's the one who started it up: Gross over-production of peons, followed by an Exp working at 100% in mere seconds.
Ease up on the cannons, rely on Temps for that. Also, try something different than Carrier rushing, as a nice, big, fat Goon drop is gonna hurt yas on dire :) Try mass scouts w/ a control group of corsair for aireal superiority, no-one uses it, but it WAXES carrier/corsari fleets if u can dance.. | | #5 [FLS]prozerran (HRN0967.RESNET-STUDENT.UPENN.EDU)[6405] | | Serephina is right except for one: Maynard is NOT the one who start this up. However, it was him who groosely abuse this in the most efficient way. Thus the infamous Maynard Transfer.
BTW, Blank, 8 cannons is way way more then u need on islands. I'd prefer 4-6 cannons, 2 templars, one shield battery and a reaver along with some random protoss infantry (probably goons). Mobile force is the KEY in any game. Have like 4-8 shuttles is generally not a bad idea.
- toss island player who never go air = | | #6 Raistloaf (freud.ti.telenor.net)[6477] | | KitNorja, nice battle-report.
Seems like you and your ally sat pretty good together.
I don't mean to sound forward, but are you a girl ?
I just thought the report sounded so, hmm, cozy, with the welcome in the beginning and all :)
Remember them shield batteries...
As for Maynard, I read somewhere that you generally have one viable strat against him, an early drop in his peon line(s). If this fails, and his economy gets going, you are suddenly entering a world of pain.
(But maybe some fun too, never seen the dude, haha)
| | #7 DeathWing (spider-tp082.proxy.aol.com)[6486] | | Maynard did use that maneuver most but didn't invent it.
Also, that is basicaly the same build Zileas used against Agent911 for the Brood War Beta Championship. Zileas won | | #8 KitNorja (dial204.pm3jcnth.jcnth.naxs.com)[6496] | | Raistloaf:
Uh, No. :-) I can be just as evil and mean as most people, I choose not to. ;-) Just because I listen to Jewel! Heh *doesn't know where that came from...*
Anyhoo, no, I am decidedly male... | | #9 Raistloaf (gw.gjensidige.no)[6567] | | Sorry about that, glad you took it like a man...
Feel almost like giving you 50 points just for the torment, but wait, hmm, oh yeah, i hate win traders... :)
