You shjould have seen the ffa me, fizban_ mark4, and some pyron guy played the other day
About 2 minutes after I was dead and was watching, I had to go eat, when I came back, fizban had killed most of mark4 off, and I realized that I could actually do something! well, pyron sent in a zealot, and I sent in wave after wave of cracklings (I had 56 points of gas, and 10000 of mins) Neverthe less, I got stupid and felt I could wipe out fizban_'s attack force (3/3 everything) of marines tanks medics and ghosts. So, after my many lings, pyron's zealot, and Fizban_ mark4 was destroyed. I was pissed that the game ended, because I wasn't allied with anyone, just had vision on =[ fizban would've won. So far fizban_ has beaten me I think 7 times. once was 1on1. I sux.. |

Yes Fractal, we do have to play soon... before I get so freakin' sick of losing that I just throw my BroodWar CD in the trash... =( It's funny to look at your comment list and see that most of the people have owned you. At least I am 1-2 vs Fractal, and the games weren't squashes.
Thans for getting the Winnie the Pooh reference .Praetor... of all the people who've owned me, you have to be the most frustrating to play, due to your undying commitment to containment. You and Johnny_Vegas are very frustrating opponents. It's less frustrating to just get your ass handed to you. BTW .Praetor, you're carefully thought out expanding and defending does make you suited to FFA's.
Strangely, this report is better than alot of the one's I did in the past that got better ratings, but some jackass posted a report that took way too much effort and screwed things up on the bell curve. =(

Actually, this wasn't a piece of cake or anything... but it didn't take days. I guess it took about 4+ hours to do this report on a 15 minute game... still, it seemed worthwhile, considering the nature of tiny timing issues that turned the outcome.
You're the last person I beat SnowSquall, and even that game was very close for a while. It's been that long since I won. Pathetic... |

Hey Mark4? Can I go on a little bit of a rant here? I'm not one for sugar-coating my true feelings underneath all kinds of politically correct bullshit, so here goes...
I know that I'm learning more by losing to Johnny_Vegas or you or KnightLisa or .Praetor or StinkyValkrie or Blank or Pylonhead or Fractal_Wave or (fill in any name here)... BUT those games last night really left me with a bad feeling.
1 - My parter spent more time talking shit on you in game one instead of offering any strategy to me, which I openly asked for because I don't often play 2-2.
2 - Then I get to hear how we lost because Rivalry wasn't a real map but somehow Lost Temple is??? I won't be party to that kind of excuse. I only use REAL excuses, like we got our asses owned.
3 - The sum of the advice I get for game 2 is make lots of medics and marines and expand... which I was doing anyway.
4 - Fizban drops and leaves us with a 2-1, at which point I say, "Watch for a zergling rush" I look away to manage my base for a minute, and he's dead, to a zergling rush... which leaves me vs you... Terran vs Zerg, and I don't have detection yet because I was supposed to be getting an overlord for that. I had to hurry up and try to attack you or something... I didn't know what to do next really, so I attacked and expanded, but I couldn't get you, and in the end, I just couldn't kill all of those lurkers, even with my best effort of backpedaling and stimuse.
5 - Naturally the games were being watched... and hopefully not reported, but it will be a cold day in HELL before I play a rematch in a similar situation, where there is real bitterness between my partner and yourself.
I don't blame you at all in this matter, but I found myself really pissed off afterwards. I don't think it was unreasonable of me to ask to switch up the teams for game two at all, since we were so obviously outgunned. I don't think you and Fizban had objections, or at least you didn't say so... but yet, we end up in a rematch that offers little hope, although I tried my "best" in both games.
I will take you up on your offer to watch a game and help me out, or if you want to team up sometime and scream direction to me, I'd appreciate that too. I might start playing 2-2 more, because I think it will help me to improve my MACRO, which is SAD!!!
...but that's just my opinion and I could be wrong. |

I don't think you're a bad player.. or at least I hope not, because I wonder what that makes me. :P
But still, you're going to lose an awful lot when you play the likes of Mark4, JV, etc etc etc. Play Fractal and me more often, the 3 of us seem to have a fairly well matched skill level!
Come to think of it, a 3 way FFA between us would be intesting, if we each picked a race to represent. We would be like the Bay of Pigs war compared to the World War Threeway FFA that just went on. ;)
Of course, we'd have to find someone to observe to write it up...

All valid points YRM. Kak isn't exactly a chump, but to be honest he's not really the highest quality player. Plus I kept taunting him which apparently made him play worse. Then there's the fact he stuck with the same build as he used the last game, despite it's failure. I almost "knew" he would do the same strat, counting on the map to provide the difference. And nothing dies to a 9 pool like a 2 hatch zerg.
Truly, with a bit of advice you'll be able to at least provide a decent match vrs most of the people you mentioned. Except Johnny of course, cuz Johnny=god. |

| All this dragonlance stuff is starting to confuse me, but I thought I'd comment on the humility wars while I was at it. Humility is good, but stop taking it so far!!! It's ok to say, I'm good, but of course with JV on my team I'm better. I'm willing to say that I'm feeling rather good about my skills after beating Johnny Vegas one on one (making us 1-1 total). But a little himility is good. For instance, should Johnny Vegas ask for a rematch, we may have trouble finding times we are both on..... But I wouldn't overdo that humility. It just gets annoying. |

But I LOVE winning that way. Carriers??? WTHeck??? Now that I think of it, if it wasn't for my single reaver (which did well, though not the level of Mark4's reaver), you hadn't seen anything out of me besides cannons and zealots.

So I feel a little better now. Sometimes I forget that you guys play each other all the time, and I just came to nohunters a month ago. It's frustrating how few mistakes most people in nohunters make, (either expert map control or expert dissection of your base) and I just lose alot when I have to create my own opportunities instead of exploiting existing ones.

Yeah, I only had 2 ghosts with lockdown charged by the time you hit my main. But remember you had already killed my 2 fledgling expansions so I had little chance of coming back.
Good work at capitalizing on my crap scouting, and also for knowing to attack right away with those carriers before I had a chance to make counter units. And yes that reaver was damn annoying, I think you killed like 10 SCV with one scarab. I was determined to not let that slow me down with my 2 expansions going up, but the carriers did me.
My thought process was pretty amusing when I saw the carriers dismantle my tank/drop on your exp.
"Carriers? Shit better get ghosts, crap I don't even have the add on. Damn it, make lots of M & M's to kill the interceptors, goliaths? no I only have one factory and am low on gas! Crap. Damn it my expansions are getting raped, and I can't stop it. Shiiiattt, GAY Carriers!!" |

It wasn't all that one-sided a game. Johnny did get my main's nexus (built zeals to stop that). Then he was tank pushing my expansion (ran away my probes). I only had 2 carriers when the tank push started (carriers at choke). I ran 7 zeal at his expansion to slow him (didn't work). I took my 5 carriers, killed his tank push, added one, and killed everything...
YRM, I remember when I first joined NoHunters, at 1200 ladder rating, thinking I was all hot. Oh, was I wrong. All these team games and 1on1s. And how the HECK did they get all those zealots and goons this side of Antioch?
In fact it's in one of my reports. "All you NoHunters people seem to kill me with masses of low-tech Protoss units, so I thought I'd try it."
(Won the game with Carriers, but the original idea was good =).
By the way, all those of you saying YRM and Cattle, do a report together... I don't think it would work. I love Ice Cream and fine cheeses. Together.....
