I thought the map was named Path of Sorrows, but I looked for it and counldn't find it. It was 192x192, Jungle tileset, very hard to navigate by ground, with lots of raised ground everywhere that only blocked off other areas. There were gimme expansions for every start location, and each start had 2 gas geysers. There were also two expansione in the middle, completely isolated from the rest of the map by high ground.
It started with Two clannies, ( {PL} I think ) myself and Jaquile. The clannies wanted to be on the same team, so we agreed and started. Everyone went random. I warped in as Yellow Toss at the Right start, Jaquile hatched as Purple Zerg on the left. I went with a defensive 2 gate on 12, having sent 7 to scout. (This proved pointless, since I couldn't navigate the map worth anything) I hadn't paid much attention to Jaquile until his scouting OL revealed brown terran at the top start. He seemed to be wraith rushing, and had very little detection. Jaquile was going for fast lurkers though, and didn't have the troops to capitalize on the early weakness.
Seeing where his base was made it possible for me to find a way into it, and I sent my first ten zealots in. While they were moving, I went for gas from both vents and tossed up an archives. He had three bunkers defending his peons, but my offensive did it's job, taking out his Comsat, his only detection. Moments later, a quartet of DT'd sang him a sad song, forcing him to lift off. Neither of us had any Anti-air at the time though, so we had to let him go. About now, I got tank pushed by orange, but as he was rushing up my ramp, a psi-storm took out his M&M support. The six DT I had, along with about as many Dragoons finished off the three tanks without a loss. I made two stargates and a couple quick corsairs found Brown's rax and factory in transit. Got the factory into the red, but it landed at the Middle expansion, where he had moved. I didn't know at the time it was unreachable from my start, and I sent 12 goons to finish it while I made a fleet beacon and another gateway.
Somewhere in here, Jaquile had managed to drop about eight lurkers and 12 hydra's on Orange, forcing Orange to leave his main. I had a nice fleet of Corsairs now though, and I took out two rax, two starports, and a factory. Jaquile has lost most of his forces in the attack though, and out of a hidden corner of the map Orange launched a tank push against his main (he had no expansion) which he barely managed to hold off, thanks to the timely completion of my D-web research. The tanks got all googly eyed at my pretty energy fields, and didn't pay any attention to the slimy hydra spit that blew them up. Now I realized that my Goons hadn't made it to Brown, and I was worried that he may have gotten a force together somewhere.
I had completed my air tech tree now, and had four arbiters with recall. I had planned to use them to shuttle around my attack force, but it proved very inneffective, so I expanded again (I now had my gimme and Browns main) and went for shuttles. I was maximizing my use of cloaked units, by arbiters, taking full advantage of their weak detection. I had just sent a force to Brown's base in the middle when brown and orange dropped three shuttles of M&M on the back of Jaquiles base. His lurkers maganed to keep them at bay long enough for an escape though, and he set up camp at his Gimme. I was very worried now though, since it appeared both my opponents had rebuilt to decent levels, and my ally was weakened. I had constant skirmishes with both Terrans forces, but nobody found bases to attack. It had become a battle for territory, rather than resources, since there were no expansions left. My shield batteries (I had six) were constantly used though, and I suffered minimal losses.
I deployed squads of DT and goons to every known Exp point (turns out I missed three) looking for the elusive and mobile terrans. I had about 12 goons, 12 DT, 12 Corsairs and six archons now. My gimme and main were dry though, but I was mining full steam from Brown's start. I eventually got observers, and found that Orange had returned to his start in force. Jaquile had rebuilt to Muta's now, and I warped in my forces to the heart of his base. The base wuickly fell, and Orange left. Jaquile had run out of minerals now, and he was pretty much out of it as well.
Then one of Jaquiles OL's found Brown, trying to turtle in the corner. He was caught at a bad time though, and my warped in forces of goons and DT's proved to be to much. (I had a nice screen shot, but all it was was the minimap, go figure)
Brown commented how those early DT had crippled him, and how he didn't expect so many cloaked units (from my arbiters) and therefore didn't have good detection.
Lessons:
1.) Early scouting in only good is you can find a way to your opponents!
2.) Even three bunkers in the peon line can't stop ten Zealots from killing your comsat
3.) Cloaked units own Terran
4.) #3 only if you can find them and their blasted moving buildings!
5.) Playing new maps adds a whole new dimension to the game
6.) My girlfriend loves winners
