Quick note before I get started, I have tons of images of this game, and will probably be reposting the b-report with images on another day when I have a bit of time to upload em. This was the most fun game I've played in almost a year :) and I just had to post the b.report now. Also I will have to dig through the screenshots to get all of the players names for the followup, but for now, heres the text version of the whole game.
========================================================
Cool coastal breezes swept over the awe inspiring beauty of the island paradise known as dire straits. Miles of beaches, uncharted waters, and peaceful serenity, all soon to be disturbed by the ravages of war as four commanders set their sights on the pristine real
estate. A deathly silence suddenly settled over the straits, the winds stopped almost in anticipation. Four would soon let loose their rage, but only one would walk away.
I was started in the top right position, while orange began his campaign in the bottom right. Brown was top left, and finally red (the lone protoss) settled in the bottom left.
I began my build as I usually do on isles, pump scv's to 10/10, then make a command center on the edge of my isle. But this particular game I had something nasty on my mind, so I made my command center on the far left of my island. Quickly a supply depot was coming up, then a barracks next to my building command center, and finally a refinery. I continued pumping scv's while floating my rax and CC to the top left enemy isle, immediately setting down and creating 1 scv (then flying my CC to an expansion) and 4 marines. As a joke I ran them all behind the enemy minerals, and started making a bunker. Everything seemed to be going ok, the bunker nearly finished, when he hit the area with some hydra. Not many, but enough to stop the cheesiest attack I could think of ;p, while leaving me fairly sure of a hydra-drop. Some minor damage was done, 3 drones fell at the
cost of 4 marines and an SCV, not what I'd call great, but at least it wasn't a total loss.
During this time, I was expanding, getting turrets up, throwing a bunker up in my minerals, and starting to build the fruits of my expanding labor, wraiths out of 3 starports (I usually throw a fourth up once the exp is running well). Soon my first wraith is on a special
scouting mission, looking for expansions, and sure as rain it reports back infomation that an orange hatchery being morphed in on the mid right expansion isle. Quickly the wraith is chased away by 6 obviously recently hatched
mutalisks, and it continued on it's expansion scouting quest. Above the center right expansion (one of the 2 larger exp's) it runs into, GASP, another orange hatchery morphing in. Well, this isn't good, but it's not the end of the world, I'll just keep on.......... Suddenly the wraith reported a third orange hatchery morphing, this one in the bottom middle expansion. Crap. This zerg is an expanding nut, and I'm in no position to stop him with my limited 6 wraith force which is fairly low on mana.
I have no choice, I have to do something, anything, to stop this madman (er, madzerg) from dominating the map so throughly so early in the game. Never having seen "anything" like this, I immediately knew my wraiths just weren't going to cut it this game. He would be working off 4 gas extractors, and that would almost certainly mean one HELL of alot of mutalisks, and later devs/guards. Thinking fast 3 more barracks and a second engineering bay started up production on my mainland, with
stimpack immediately researching, and attack damage being upgraded. I was producing marines as fast as I could, with dropships coming out of my starports, along with the occasional tank from my factory (the tanks because I had
seen brown making hydra, and I believed strongly that he would be pissed at me from my early cheese-attack). Soon I was amassing a decent force, and around 20 marines with some medic escort piled into dropships bound for the center left main isle orange expansion. I decided on hitting this
because it would be most vournerable (it was a large isle, and he was focusing on the south end, thus I could land on the north end fairly-safely after clearing out the building hatchery with my small wraith fleet). The men landed, the scv's cue'd up bunkers, the lone siege tank sieged, the wraiths cloaked, and sure as clockwork, the mutas/lings charged. The battle raged on, my wraiths began dying, my marines were falling, slowly I was losing this battle, at EXTREME expense from the enemy. Wave after wave of zerglings
pouring out of overlords at the south of his isle, TONS of mutalisks, but suddenly, a ray of hope. My dropships reappeared over the horizon, carrying reinforcements to the stricken front line, 5 marines were left standing on the island with 4 medics, firing defiantly at the few leftovers of a giant muta wave still pecking at them. Go Go Go, marines poured out of the dropships just in time to meet with the next big wave of mutalisks. A bunker finished, marines stimmed, mutalisk parts rained down from the sky, brave men began falling, when out of the blue 2 sci vessels finally hit 75 mana and irradiated for all they were worth. The tide had turned, the sky was clear, and the battlefield fell quiet.
Not wanting to squander the advantage so many men had lost their lives for, I quickly ordered my men south, into the remains of the now evacuated zerg base. Sunkens fell, spore colonies fell, and 6 tired marines hoisted the UED flag over the remains of a once mighty
hatchery.
Suddenly, screams of terror over the communications links. Brown Overlords were quietly flying over my home base, and hydra were pouring out of them at a hideous rate. The recently trained rookie marines at home fought uncoordinatedly, caught by suprise, spread around
their respective barracks, in no condition for a battle. Determined, the war hardened expansion killing crew was piling back into dropships headed for home. Meanwhile the hydra were wreaking havoc on the home front, barracks
were falling, and other then a brave siege tank shelling the hoard, there was no opposition to their might. The dropships finally arrived, their contents hitting the field as vessels irradiated the hell out of the hydra mass. Marines charged, medics followed, a bloody battle ensued, but a definitive
terran victory over the evil Brown hoard.
Having dealt with the threat a dropship of scv's from my depleted main headed out to the center right expansion to begin mining operations. Meanwhile I took a moment to look over the enemies with comsat.
Brown had expanded middle right with many spore colonies to keep drops back. His failed attack had weakened him, and though I knew he would eventually build up another drop, a few extra tanks left at home would hopefully ensure it would be an unsuccessful venture.
Red had recently expanded to the center left large expansion, and put several cannons around it's perimiter. Compounding this I noticed 3 lit starports in his main, sitting next to a fleet beacon. This recon almost
screamed CARRIER, though I didnt see any currently finished on the field, instead it appeared he had produced around 15-20 dragoons to defend his main first.
Orange, upon seeing one base fall to masses of marines, had built quite a few sunkens/spores on his 2 remaining expansions, ensuring that if anything "did" make it to the ground, it wouldn't have an extended stay. He was also starting to frantically make creep colonies around his nearly completely undefended main (he was relying on his wall of expansions to keep his main safe I imagine) while producing even more muta/lings.
Seeing that brown and red didn't appear to pose a signifigant threat at the moment, I quickly reloaded my hoard of dropships to punish orange for having such an undefended main base. 5 new barracks and 2 factories were being thrown up to replace the 2 rax I lost to brown,
and my new center right expansion was starting to get rolling (turrets coming up around the perimiter, and a couple CC's finishing near both respective patches on the large expansion isle).
Eventually (damn dropships are slow-asses) the men arrived to destroy the main orange hive, to dishearten his efforts at domination, and to defeat his hopes of guardians through destruction of the greater
spire under construction. The men charged, now close to 35-40 strong, with medics closeby. Some casualties were taken to sunkens, but the base was falling, a fleet of mutalisks came in to support, but realizing the hopelessness
of the effort, turned tail before running into marine range. I was feeling the victory, seeing blood, and taking no prisoners when suddenly I noticed that oranges mutas had not simply turned and ran from the marines. He had flew around the back of my main base, and assisted by a lot of zerglings
pouring out of overlords, he began to lay waste to the far right, lightly defended side of my main. The mass of marine/medic around my barracks on the left end of my base stimmed and charged in defence, the now 6 strong sci vessel fleet irradiated the mass of mutas like mad, the tanks fired
on incoming zerglings, and when the smoke cleared I had only lost a few marines, a tank, and some supply depots. Seeing the futility in further fighting, orange surrendered with the parting words of,
"Irradiate sucks"
I decided to take this moment to see how my remaining opponents were doing, comsats rained across the map.
Brown was loading another wave of hydra into overlords. and headed east toward my main.
Red was moving a fleet of what appeared to be 7 carriers northeast, toward my center right expansion.
Thinking fast I concluded that red was the bigger threat at the moment, and that my main could handle itself vs a hydra drop, so my masses of now war-hero marines in orange's dead main base ended their few moments of relaxation, and piled back into the dropships. As the carriers were hitting my expansion, my dropships were dumping their contents on the protoss main. Emp canisters hurled down on the protoss base, hitting templar and the dragoon mass. The carriers turned around and began flying
home to support his main, while brown unexpectedly decided against hitting my main, and instead dumped his hydra forces on my origonal top middle expansion. My marines were fighting valliantly, tearing down cannons, dragoons, and building alike. A lone psi storm hit the field before an emp could knock the mana out of the templar, costing me seven or so marines. Meanwhile a second wave of dropships left my main bound for brown's hive cluster, loaded with more marines/medics, some tanks, and 4 goliaths.
Interceptors burst across the battlefield, marines stimmed up and began firing away at the small carrier borne craft flying above. Quickly all interceptors had fallen to the huge marine squad, and
carriers began to flee as the marines focused their attentions again on the base. Meanwhile browns expansion attacking hydra force was being called back to help save his main, as my forces tore through his den and spawning
pool. The hydra fought with every drop of strength they could muster, but it was a far cry short of what was needed. My men stood triumphant, and brown's battered swarm, gave in to my overwhelming forces. Red followed suit as my dropships began dropping from both sides of the protoss expansion,
his carriers put up a fight, but with nowhere to go they sat and accepted their fates as future landscaping ornaments. GG's were exchanged, the terrans had won the day, and the marines had earned a 6 week all expense paid tropical
vacation.
[AFTER BATTLE THOUGHTS]
Anyway, I hope that was a good read, even without the pictures. There were some truly awesome battles, and the fight for that center right main expansion was just "soooooo" badass. The cheese bunker/4 marine attack early wasn't really effective, I'd have been better off floating my early factory and using 2 vultures to pop drones instead. Orange was the only really dangerous enemy most of the game, mainly because he held most of the expansions fairly firmly, restricting enemy resource intake. All in all had I failed to kill the center right orange expand (and I VERY nearly
did), I doubt very strongly I would have had the cash to continue fighting on the scale I required to match orange's massive unit output. It was definately one of the most fun games I've played in nearly a year :) and not one I'll soon forget.

If this report gets some positive feedback I'll try and get the pics up and the report reposted with battle shots sometime early next week.
