I play regular SC, not having access to Brood War, so if I want to play a game I get to experience the orgasmic joy of wading through the refuse that is Hunters games.

Eventually, on this particular night, I found a game on A Bridge Too Near. Or maybe I created it, I don't remember. At any rate, two people entered, but we didn't get a fourth (it was advertised as a 2v2).

Both of them had positive records, one of them 6-0. I was pretty happy, looking forward to an at least somewhat challenging game.

Presently, the three of us agreed on a free-for-all. This is a particularly good map for it, in my opinion. I was feeling a little arrogant, not having lost a game in a couple weeks, so I apologized to the 6-0: "I'm sorry to tarnish your perfect record" were the words, I believe.

As is my habit, I went random, and drew Terran in the upper left. The other two were brown terran (that's the 6-0) in the lower right and yellow protoss in the upper right.

I decided early on to let them fight over the choke while I quickly teched. I like Terran tech much better than Terran infantry, especially pre-medics.

When my comsat finished, I scanned the center, feeling that it might be more important to know who controls the land routes than who is where. It turned out that this was the correct decision, as I saw an army of zealots and a large force of marines sitting on the side of the road having tea.

I said "Double-teaming isn't nice."
Brown replied "Neither is map-hacking."
Uh, what? First sign that these guys are idiots: why bother accusing a Terran with comsat of map-hacking? Especially when there isn't a map-hack...

I'd been teching, as I said, and I expanded very early to my natural, so I didn't have much defense. I cranked out a couple tanks to support my lonely bunker, plus a few loose marines with an eye towards building shelter for them presently. I scanned the lower right, finding that brown had zero defences in the back of his base (idiot sign 2), and geared for a drop.

Never happened. The combined assault rolled over my town after taking heavy casualties, but I had a dropship with 8 SCVs and rather a lot of money. Furthermore, I still had my expansion, which they somehow failed to notice (idiot sign 3).
At this point I was a little annoyed, so I sweetly accused them of being "losers" incapable if winning without a 2v1. Brown showcased his limited intellect with the retort "How can we be losers if you've lost?"
I thought it was a little early to count me out.

I built a command center on my plateau, then the plateau of the empty base, then brown's own plateau. I had to rebuild my entire tech tree, but these guys apparently couldn't figure out where I was.

I went wraith, with a few marines, and later tanks. The marines all died when I dropped them in the back of brown's base. They killed a lot of SCV, some buildings, and some wraiths first, but fell to zels and archons from the choke.
The tanks had a wonderful time blasting the hordes of marines swarming around the plateaus with no way up. The wraiths did the rest.

Each of them tried to expand exactly once, when the mineral supplies at their mains were mostly gone. They didn't bother to defend them. They also didn't bother to tech very much. I saw about three scouts and a science vessel. The rest was mass infantry.

It's really sad when people can't win 2v1.
