Den_Dumme_Kegle and $hasa
Lost Temple
Dumme and $hasa weren't going to be on the same team, but then they whined and said they were practising for some tournament in Denmark, so we let em be on the same team.
I was terran in the middle right, Limp was zerg in the upper middle. $hasa was protoss in middle left, Dumme was zerg in the bottom middle.
Limp hatched a couple of lings early as scouts, and one left to find the Zerg player with the gimme expansion outside his base and the one in the middle. I told him we should kill it, so I unloaded my bunker and began the long march to my short death. We found the middle expansion defended by sunkens and an undetermined number of zealots. As my marines started screaming some kind of vulgarities, Limp's lings are bleeding and falling apart all over the place. I think we drew blood from one of the sunken colonies. WAHOO! Then I wet my pants and began trying to defend from this wonderful team.
Limp tried in vain to build up troops, and I bulid 2 bunkers and a CC in the expansion outside my base. I started pumping out medics, firebats, and marines from my 2 rax and tried to tech, thinking that that was my only chance. After I have some meager defense set up a preliminary attack came, consisting of 1 dt, lots of zealots, a lone dragoon, and a horde of lings and enough hydras to back them up. I screamed for help and creamed my drawers. The zealots and lings killed my bunkers in a hurry, and then the marines fell victim to grooved spines and psi blades. The only dt in the group runs up to my supply line, and I try in vain to sweep and kill it with my SCV's. I'm not sure how very few lings and even fewer hydras fought off this attack, but I owe Limp one.
Well, I'm screwed at about this point, but somehow we kill the dt. I started the long process of rebuilding my defense, and start trying to build wraiths, but my banks are getting into the red. I built 2 more bunkers and filled them. I started pumping out M&M trying to fight off the next attack with macro. I built another rax and the guys came a bit faster. My factory was trying to build tanks, but I didn't have enough vespene for anything. I built one or two vultures and put their mines at the top of the ramp.
Well, here we go.
There come a huge number of the swarm, including a massive air fleet that filled my pants a little more. The protoss presence was felt with an archon or two, a bunch of zealots and about half a dozen dragoons. I screamed for help, but by the time Limp's forces can get there my own little peice of dirt is filled with little bits and peices of my guy's armor and a whole lot of their blood. My m&m are dead, and I'm not sure what happened to the spider mines at the top of the ramp.I think I killed 2 zealots, if I'm lucky. My reinforcements look nice but are killed quickly.
Limp and I apologized to eachother for not being much help, and acknowledged a gg. Limp is dispatched quickly, but his defense lasted a little longer then mine, but he was back in nounters shortly.
Lessons Learned
? I suck.
? If you build your bunkers above the ramp they do a whole lot better job.
? Never let people who are practising for a tournament play together against you.
? Macro doesn't help much if you're already dead
? Kill expansions as soon as you find em, or else you're hosed.
? Don't change your pants in the early part of the game, you might soil them again.
? Medics look cool when they're falling apart, even if they're yours.
? Seige tanks do little to stop big attacks.
? Varied units help a whole ton. |
