Me: Terran (1195) 3:00
Beer(with a bunch of squggle-crap): Toss 9:00

I was itching to get in a game on my lunchbreak and Beer oblidged. I chose terran, and he did the last minute selection of Toss.

Early game:
It's all about not dying. I did my standard build of 8depot, rax, rax, 3 more depots then acadamy, followed by refinery. Everything was continually pumping (which is HUGE). I set my rallys to the ramp and just focused on producing marines. I scouted with an SCV and found him at 9, after searching 12. I get up on his plateau, and I see a heavy offense setup. 3 gates, pylons, no gas. Hmmm.

Zeals.

The first 3 popped out pretty much in unison, and began to chase my little amigo around his base. After a little bit o' Deon, he broke free and ran to 6'o clock exp. I think the bad guy probe also found me at 3, but his little probe went 'pop' on the ramp.

After making sure the peon would survive, I dropped a bunker at my choke, and kept producing units. The bay followed shortly thereafter, and I began to get stim. About this time, 9 zeals decided to try and end my game. Stim just finished, and my 14 marines decided that they wouldn't take any of this crap.

That's the stuff...

The first two zels up the ramp went out in a blaze of glory. Stinky blue smoke went up where they once stood, and we clipped one more before they turned tail. We were in hot pursuit. 4 marines jumped out of the bunker and joined in on the fox hunt.

Two fresh medics then arrived, administering de-tox to the happy go lucky crew. I also had the one SCV who build the bunker at my ramp accompany the attack.

So the Zels ran. I don't blame them. I lost one guy in the exchange. I kept up the pursuit, even up their ramp. They kept going, but I stopped at the top. I had more sinister plans in mind.

As the medics did their rounds right at his ramp, I had the SCV make the first of many bunkers. This was now my property. I was going to do what terrans do best: Defend.
Once that was done, another bunker followed by a missle turret. I sent over another SCV to help with the new construction and began building firebats. Began the factory, and soon I had a network of 4 bunkers and 2 missile turrets, and I installed the firebats in the bunkers as soon as I had the chance. Tanks were in the making. Starport just beginning, as well as an expansion at the natural.

I could see his buildings from my earlier scouting, and he was approx 10 squares away from my forward bunker. Everything looked pretty good. Siege tanks rolled up and got into position. Then he came in. 14-20 Zels with some DT thrown in the mix. Good thing about drugs is that they really pack a whallop. It was neat. Streams of fire from multiple bats in bunkers, machine guns cracking, tanks slamming away. Lots of dead prot.

I fended him off while losing the tank and a single
bunker. All of my infantry not in bunkers died too.
After a bit of repairs, reinforcements arrived, and I bunkered up to a forward point that would allow shelling on his gateway. He didnt give up, but did a fairly effective DT drop on my base. My soundcard is fried, and I didnt hear the slash of the assassins. But when I did, I ran like hell. All of the surviving SCVs ran to the natural and got back to work. He fragged the comsat first (sign of a good player). I eventually was able to muster up a tank and 5 marines (thank you, stim) and cooked the little bastards after a scan from my exp comsat (He was able to toast my CC; better him hitting the CC than the new units I was making to kick his DT ass). After the last DT went up in smoke, he called gg (I was blasting his assimilator with tanks and a bunker by now.)

Lessons learned:

* Terran still kick ass (but only for experts. There is a VERY steep learning curve). Good terran is DAMN hard to use. If you want to be a terran master, plan on losing a whole lot of games before you get good.
* I'm 9-1 with my terran over prot and zerg on lost temple. Cloaked and burrowed shit just doesn't phase me anymore.
* Use bunkers to solidify your ground gains.
* Stay on top of your unit and scv production (Agent 911 has the tips you should use here)

* Use soso's turbo-newbie strat if he takes his natural. Play your cards right and your opponent won't be able to use it.
* Stay frosty, and don't panic. With terran; you panic, you die.
