This is my first ever BR! I don’t have any HTML skills aside from the fact that I know what it stands for (Huge Tall Militant Lungs) so I don’t have cool graphics or colored names for that matter. Oh well, enough of my bitching and on to the game.
The players met in channel firewater(being indian’s favorite thing to steal from the “white men”) and exchanged some healthy comments about how the other team would suck their mother’s anatomy and couldn’t “front like that”, etc. The players knew each other and so many inside jokes were thrown around while I just asked them what the heck they were talking about. We enter the game and the countdown starts.
All players chose random, as they informed me that it is the “non ass-queer” thing to do. blitz[]krieg drew Terran, while his partner, [DS]clay-indian, drew Zerg. gaybanter got Zerg as well, and ThickRichLather ended up with Protoss.
Round One: When Rushes Collide(powerman5k is god)
Blitz[]krieg and gaybanter opt for similar build orders, both teching for either tanks or a reaver drop. However, their teammates are feeling the need for a little action, and so they go for a 6 pool. blitz[]krieg and his team are on the right side, his rushing alter ego on the bottom as is Lather’s 6 pooling comrad. The two cerebrates have an absolutely identical build order and the first 6 lings of each commander explode into existence at the same time. They move their task forces towards each other’s base……and they collide half way there. gaybanter came out on top with one ling left but withdrew to his base. I then found out that gaybanter was a “bitch mouthed faggot”. Interesting. Here the two Zerg split paths in the tech tree, gaybanter going for lurkers and hydras, and indian going for air.
Round Two: Lurkers get theirs
blitz[]krieg took his two tanks and took his expansion constructing a bunker and a turret at his low ground choke. His command center was almost done his 9 scvs from his main waiting to begin mining, when gaybanter showed up at his doorstep with a set of 4 lurkers, hoping to catch blitz with no detection. One lurk died before it could burrow from tanks splash, the others got off one volley of spines when the turret was completed. The lurkers then…..well, you know, died. Lather, seeing that blitz had expanded took his brand new 2000 model shuttle and headed off for the back of blitz’s base with 2 reavers. The reavers landed at the back of his mineral line and found it empty. blitz had seen the shuttles and had moved his scvs out the way before the slugs landed. Tanks and bats dispatched the reavers with little loss as Lather had crappy micro and did not pop his reavers. blitz, now with an up and running expansion techs to sci vessels and readies a tank push.
Round Two: The homeless mutas
[DS]clay-indian had a sizable air force by this time, somewhere in the area of of 24-30 mutas. He was just ordering them into groups when gaybanter invades his expansion kills it and charges into the main with the most hydras ive ever seen. They go straight for the buildings despite the mutalisk onslaught. indian shuttles a drone over to blitz’s base and builds a hatch before his last building dies to just 4 hydras. gaybanter has destroyed indian in the most un-economical way possible but he did it, nonetheless. Indian sadly informs his partner that he has only 42 minerals left and no drones. He does however have 30 mutas. He orders his troops to attack gaybanter’s main base. gaybanter sees the mutas coming down on the back of his base and quits out. He has uses all of his troops and had no defense at his main so he had no chance against the vengeful mutas.
Round Three: The tide turns, slightly
At this point Lather is desperate to kill someone so he sends 2 shuttles with 2 reavers and 4 dark templar to blitz’s main base. He enters the back way and sees indian’s lone hatchery, he pounds it with scarabs as blitz races his bats and medics toward them, indian sends his mutas to Lather’s main hoping to cause damage before his hatchery explodes. The reavers had loaded back up along with the dark templar right before the bats got there and indian’s mutas go neutral. “gayassed bastard” was the last phrase uttered by [DS]clay-indian before he died. It was now a battle between blitz[]krieg and ThickRichLather.
Battle Four: Bananas from Hell
Blitz[]krieg and Lather each hold their natural and an expansion. Blitz[]krieg, still angry about losing his partner loads up a frightening 12 dropships with various units. He flies 2 over to Lather’s natural and unloads three tanks and 4 scvs. They begin pounding on his nexus and probes. The other ships begin their assault on his main. Bunkers going up every where, spider mines exploding constantly and the strangest part. No troop resistance. Only the eerie line of 8, yes 8, stargates. Why were those there? blitz didn’t see any aircraft. And then it hit him. And it hit him hard. 20+ carriers stormed blitzes main base. blitz commented that he hadn’t ever seen so many carriers on a non-bgh map before. I hadn’t either and explained to blitz that he had been building them up the whole game keeping them in a far corner of the map. Lather took a big fat risk and came out on top with style. I would have liked to have seen blitz’s face as he heard the swoosh of interceptors being unloaded. Hehehe. Blitz conceded and the game was over.
Lessons learned
Picking random is the “non ass-queer thing to do”
Carriers in large numbers are for pansies, but if you built em up on a normal map, then the other person deserves to die for being dumb.
Well, that was it. I know it wasn’t much, but I’m gonna learn HTML and try to get better. Raters, tell me what I did wrong so I can fix it next time. Thanks!
