This is my first battle report, and English is not my native language,
so please be patient with my errors. With no further delay I give you:

As you see the map is Dark Temple. NewbieMcNasty,
who will be called only McNasty the rest of
this report, plays as Terran (he swiched to Terran from Protoss in the
last second) at 12 o'clock. [HS]Persian, called
Persian,
plays as Protoss at 9 o'clock. There are two other observers present besides
me; OrcManiac and THEMONKEY.
Early Game:
McNasty
started by building a supply depot, and then a barracks. Persian's
scouting probe did cause some problems for him when it first constructed
a offensive assimilator, and then attacked the SCV constructing the barracks.
McNasty
sent two SCV's to attack the assimilator, and one to attack the probe.
His economy was hurt quite a bit by three SCV's not gathering minerals
for a while.
Two marines were hastily trained to help getting rid of the assimilator,
which was immediately replaced with an extractor. His build order ended
up like this:
· Supply
· Barracks
· Supply
· Refinery
Persian, on the other hand, was aiming
for a fast expansion. Really fast. His buildorder were:
· Pylon
· Nexus (at the natural)
· Pylon
· Gateway
· Gateway
· Assimilator
Both Gateways were warped in at the natural.
The action heats
up as McNasty orders a SCV to construct a
offensive bunker close to, but not in sight of, Persian's
expansion. 5 marines are sent up to man the bunker. As they arrive the
SCV constructs another bunker close to the Persian's
gateways. Only one zealot is available to stop the intrusion. He makes
a brave attempt to kill the SCV before it finishes the bunker, but soon
dies to marine fire before accomplishing anything.
Persian
will now pay for his fast expansion. The
marines start firing on the gateways, but soon McNasty
realizes the single pylon powering them are a better target, and empties
the bunker to get his marines in range.
Persian's
probes desperately try to stop them, but they don't stand a chance, so
the pylon goes down.
Meanwhile Persian has constructed three
Gateways and a Cybernetics Core in his main. McNasty
now has an academy, a factory, and an engineering bay. He also constructs
a Command Center at the edge of his cliff, with the intention of later
flying it over to his natural.
Middle Game:
The action at
Persian's
natural continues as a new pylon warps in and the marines exit the bunker
to slaughter the innocent probes. Another bunker is constructed right next
to one of the gateways and the four remaining marines move from their old
bunker to the new one. The battle goes back and forth, but Persian's
Zealots and Dragoons are unable to break out of the bunker containment.
Perhaps Persian would have been luckier if
he had upgraded Singularity Charge (+2 Dragoon range). McNasty
keeps the pressure on by sending a Tank to the front, seiging it up next
to the remaining bunker. Soon both gateways fall, and when a second Tank
arrives the Nexus, as OrcManiac so nicely put it, goes "bye bye".
Late Game:
McNasty
is now gathering minerals from his natural expansion. A second Factory
and a Starport is constructed at his main. Several Missile Towers make
sure that possible Dark Templars wouldn't ruin his day. Persian
warps in a Robotics facility and uses it to produce a Shuttle. The Shuttle
is loaded with four Zealots and heads for McNasty's
main, hoping that the Terran commander has used too much resources on his
offensive bunkers to be able to adequately defend his main. However two
Missile Towers surprise Persian and the Shuttle
is destroyed before it can fully unload. Only one Zealot survives the crash,
but a Tank and a Wraith quickly destroy him before he can revenge the death
of his brothers.
At this point Persian realizes resistance
is futile and surrenders.
Winner: NewbieMcNasty
Lessons Learned:
· Don't expand if you can't defend your expansion!
· Offensive bunkers are good.
· Have more than one Pylon supporting your Gateways.
· The Singularity Charge upgrade make you Dragoons much more
useful.
