The Terran City Amedaeus, located along the southern shore of the River Styx, has ruled over the river basin for countless years. The Terran Senate, controlling the day to day acts of the city, had defended the area of Amedaeus from anything that had challenged their authority. Since its forming, it had to use their force only once in the many centuries of order. It seems as if it may have to do so again. A mysterious creep had appeared in the northern valley, forming next to the mineral mines and vespene gas geyser. The head of the Terran Army, Commander Vladmir, sent forth an SCV scout to find the source of the disturbance. Many hours later, a severely injured SCV limped back to the base, collapsing at the feet of General Vladmir. Speaking only one word before he gave up the death, the scout uttered a word that chilled the air, “Zerg.”
Taking the threat very seriously, Commander Vladmir prepared to send the troops out. Peace had survived in the River Styx for over a hundred years, but it was not the last. War had come, and the Terran were ready to fight it…
INcreasing Pressure
Early Game
The Terran Military Base began as a mere Command Center, with only four weakling SCV's. Four SCV's added to the others to make a total of eight, with the seventh SCV scouting and the 8th building a barracks. The next following SCV buiolt a much needed Supply Depot, allowing for the Terran Army to grow. The SCV scout quickly found the Zerg base, finding an active spawning pool with a massive hatchery with a second half-way built. Seeing this, the Terran Commander Vladmir quickly built a second barracks, a bunker, and a refinery with the thirteenth, fourteenth and fifteenth SCV's. Seeing the SCV, the Zerg Cerebrate ordered forth six of his lightly-armored zerglings. Seeing this, the fearless SCV scout teased the zerglings by leading them in circles. Seeing this from the home base, Commander Vladmir couldn't keep from laughing.
Staying at the zerg base, the SCV saw that the Zerg Commander had begun construction on a third hatchery, opting for to completely overrun their Terran enemies with sheer numbers. A joke that many of the Terran infantry soldiers used to uplift their spirits, mainly through releasing stress through laughter, "Bring on the ugly dog-lizards, I've got a flame-thrower with its name of it."
Assuming that the Terran was teching, the Zerg Cerebrate charged across the bridges en route to the Terran base. Numbering in the fifties, the zerglings leapt across the underbrush in the steppe lands before the Terran valley. Rounding the corner, the zerglings were met with upraised Gauss Rifles backed up by Firebats with their guns ready to melt the dog-lizards with the deadly napalm. Terran Medics were scattered among the troops, ready to deal any of the troops in need of help. Trying to halt to a stop, the zerg were ripped into by the first rounds of machine-gun fire. The first row of zerglings fell first, their bodies practically ripped in half by the shells. The next group of ugly creatures were stopped in their tracks by a wall of flames, felling close to twenty of the creatures. Melee battle commensed then. About fifteen of the zerglings remained, leaping onto the defenders. One unlucky zergling was impaled upon a Terran bayonet, spilling everything within the gash, its chin its abdomen. A scream from a terran marine was calmed as a nearby medic administered the healing drugs, closing the wound opened by the zerglings claws. The two groups of enemies fought for close to a half-hour, with the well-trained Terran infantry coming out on top. Taking advantage of the situation, the Terran Commander ordered a new resource expansion in the nearby south-east. This failed rush issued brought forth a new part of this game, the Mid-Game...
"INcineration"
Taking to the offensive, the Terran Forces charged off across the bridge backed up by two scv's. Back at home, the SCV's built a pair of Factories along with a second engineering bay for uogrades. Soon after the Terran forces reached the Zerg Creep Area, they discovered an expansion along the way. Lauging to themselves, the infantry injected themselves with the STIM drugs, turned their guns on the defenseless hatchery. Seconds later, the once pulsing structure was little more than a dead stump. Charging from the zerg base, a group of two dozen zerglings charged forth, angry and seeking revenge for their loss. The Terran were ready for them. STIMing one more time, the brave soldiers turned their weapons on the dog-lizards, creating a small lake of zerg blood across the battlefield. The zerglings didn't even get to the marines, all dead or dying on the field of battle.
Seeing his mistake, the Zerg Cerebrate quickly builds a trio of creep colonies, but none of them were finished in time. A score of marines charged into over the Zerg creep, running over any of the zerglings left. A dozen of firebats followed these first marines, backed up by ten ready and able medics. The Terran infantry turned their guns on the spawning pool first, seeking to stop the zergling production. The hydralisk den followed this, set ablaze by the napalm from the firebat's adapted rifles. Nothing was safe from the Terran guns, the Zerg drones retreated from their base, but were blind-sided by the first dozen vultures. These quick but powerful machines turned their guns on the larva next, trying to keep the Zerg from building replacement drones and succeeding very well. Seconds later, the second and third Hatcheries fell to the Gauss rifles, with the only buildings left were the original hatchery and extractor. A feeble cry came from the Zerg Hatchery next, sickening in its showing of weakness. The Zerg Cerebrate wanted to surrender. Commander Vladmir would not allow it. The Zerg must be annihilated, less they rebuild elsewhere, only to threaten Amedaeus again. The Senate could not accept that. The final buildings fell to the human weapons, leaving the Zerg base annihilated, their leader captured and held at the very secure Terran base. The aftermath of the final battle between the two opposing forces was filled with a vast clean-up effort of the creep, trying to restore the battlefield to its former beauty. The Terran Commanders, thinking the Zerg dead, stopped building their war machine. What they didn't see was a small part of the map, inside on the hidden caves of the riverside. One solitary egg formed, all that was needed to reform the Zerg machine. It would be years before the creature was old enough to form another cerebrate, but it was there. Buying its time until it would get its revenge up on its much hated Terran enemies. Only time would tell if the Zerg would again come back, but the Rivers of Time repeat, and they most likely would. Time is the only truth....
