Introduction

Greetings. I bring you an extra special BR tonight, all for the pleasure of my wonderful BR.com viewing audience (yeah right). Ahem =] Anyway, after watching the relatively boring first half of the Titans - Colts game, I decided to head upstairs and log onto b.net (yes, it actually worked). After chatting for a few minutes with random idiots in NH, I hear a game announced: "crazy1/crazy1". Being the happy little gay obs i am, i quickly join, to find on a non-obs map. Well, that won't do, will it? The host, _Crazy_ (Crazy), quickly realizing the importance of my observing the game, rehosted on an obs version. His partner was -=Krone=- (Krone), and they were facing the well known AQD3 (Mark4), and the infamous and oh so gay chobofux()r (Ghost~Lizard). My fellow gosu observer is Crm.mitch. Mark4 and Ghost, being the homos they are, both choose toss as their race. Crazy and choose to random. After these happenings, we start ...

Map

Gay Temple

never seen this picture before

Crazy: Yellow Terran, 9 o clock
Krone: Blue Toss, 3 o clock

v.

Mark4: Chosen Teal Toss, 12 o clock
Ghost: Chosen Brown Toss, 6 o clock

This looked like a good game. I did not know how good

Crazy/Krone were, and i knew that Mark4 and Ghost were good. However, Crazy and Krone lucked out because they randomed into the best 2v2 combo (imo), terr & toss. So we have terr/toss v toss/toss. A good battle should be coming up.

And here we go ...

Build orders:

Krone goes with a triple gate opening, getting all 3 before 18 supply. Mark4 and Ghost both go double gate, Mark4 adding his third gate around 25 supply, while Ghost stays with his 2 gates while teching to templars. Crazy goes double rax, adding his third rax later on in the mid 20's, like Mark4.

The first move of the made is by

Mark4 and Ghost. Mark4, after scouting Krone's base, notes his 3 gate opening. Mark4, being the gosu he is, tells Ghost to attack him now.

Why?

The reason behind this is that the 3 gate opening, although strong if allowed to power a bit, is weak early on. For a short period of time, 2 gates can actually produce more zealots and overpower a 3 gate.

However,

Mark4 & Ghost's plan went array, and their timing was off. Mark4's zealots 3 zealots arrive by the time Krone has 3 zealots done, and with the aid of high ground, Krone is able to easily dispatch Mark4's zeals. Ghost arrives late with 3 zealots, and quickly retreats knowing he is fighting a losing battle

After the failed attack, all four players regroup and build their forces.

Krone begins amassing zealots from his 3 gates, and Crazy, now with 3 raxes, and an acad, has a large force of M&M&F. Mark4 has also been producing zealots, and has slowly teched to goons. Ghost has teched towards DTs, and because of this, has a smaller force of zealots.

Crazy and Krone decide that their forces number enough, and send about 12 zealots, along with 15 marines, a firebat, and 3 medics. Their forces rally outside of Mark4's base where they are spotted by one of Mark4's zealots. Mark4 quickly asks for help, knowing he may not be able to handle all of these forces. Crazy and Krone group up, and march up to Mark4's ramp with their formidable force. Mark4 has about 10 zealots and 4 freshly made dragoons. He uses these forces optimally, with his zealots holding position at the top of his ramp (some wander drunkenly around in his base), and his 4 goons hold position, using their superior range to pick off the enemy forces. However, despite being as careful as he can, Mark4's zealots and dragoons are soon overwhelmed. Krone's zealots are destroyed, but Crazy has about 9 marines and 3 medics that live. They get up the ramp, and start harassing probes, but are soon destroyed by Ghost's newly made DTs and zealots, as well as Mark4's fresh dragoons. Unfortunately, Ghost was being gay at the time, and wouldn't give me both allies and vision, thus i was unable to get pics of his stupid dts. Argh. Anyway ... comstat proved inneffective, since Ghost microed his DTs away from the comstat.

The result of this was that

Mark4 lost his entire force, as well as about 10-12 probes. Crazy and Krone's entire force were lost too, but overall, Mark4 was by far hurt the largest. He only had about 9 probes left, and his econ was obviously severely set back

Mark4 and Ghost, after clearing all of the enemy units from Mark4's base, decide that now would be a good time to counter. They gather about 5 dragoons, 3 dts, and 3 zealots, and attack Krone. However, Krone had not neglected his base macro during his team's attack, and had 2 cannons above his ramp and 6 goons. He was therefore able to easily defeat Mark4 and Ghost's forces, using the ramp to his advantage, as well as his enemys gosu tactic of sending in their troops one by one.

retards

Now would be the time to show off your amazing "skills", Ghost

After these battles, all players take time to regroup, and gather their forces and chill. Ghost takes his natural, and soon fortifies it with a pair of cannons. Krone has teched hard, and has both Robotics tech and Templar tech, complete with an observatory. Crazy has been macroing hard, and has about 16 M&M and 5 vultures. Mark4 is not lagging far behind, and has been rebuilding his economy steadily, and has about 6 goons. Crazy decides to scout out Ghost, and sends one of his wily vultures to do the task. The vulture drives drunkely down to the protoss base to discover the expansion, before his bike is blown to little pieces by newly made wandering goons. However, Crazy didn't tolerate that, and send his remaining 4, even drunker vultures to engage the forces at the protoss natural. Probably by dumb luck, they manage to kamazaki into a templar that was just a moment ago warped in from aiur. They then crash into the nexus in a blaze of glory, to be forever membered for their sacrafice. Mark4, obviously intimidated by these masculine vultures, takes a moment to comment upon their team's current situation.

its cuz u have ghost on ur team, mark =[

Krone and Crazy, seeing their opponents expansion at his natural, decided that this would not be allowed. So they gather their forces, consisting of Krone's 12 goons, along with an observer, and Crazy's around 24 M&M, and march to his natural. However, Ghost had plans of his own, and had also moved his troops, which included about 7 goons, 5 zealots, 3 dts, and 2 high templars, towards the middle of the map. He then met up with Krone's army, and because of his disorganization and lack of attention, was smacked down quite hard.

god this kid is so good

But don't worry Ghost! Mark4 to the rescue! Yes, Mark4 has not been idle, despite the heavy losses he took at the beginning. He has formidable army of 12 ranged goons, and once he was the predicament that Ghost was in, quickly dispatched them to his aid. He met up with Ghost's few remaining forces that he had neglected in the middle of the map, and they ... waddle down toward the outside of Ghost's natural where Krone and Crazy's forces were organizing. The battle that ensued pitted about 24 M&M and a couple of Krones remaining dragoons vs Mark4 and Ghost's army of 15 dragoons. It was a tight battle at first, with casulties on both sides. However, when Mark4 had about 8 dragoons left, he retreated. He had killed about 10 M&M, and was obviously confident that Ghost could handle the rest of the infantry himself - something that is certainly very gutsy indeed, to leave Ghost to handle himself in a battle. So Crazy's remaining 14 M&M charged into Ghost's natural, only to face a lot of lightning. A storm later, 3 Marines remained, and it was simple cleanup from there.

at least he can storm right

Terran can be gay too

All players again take time to expand and gather their troops.

Mark4 has taken his natural, as well as teched to templars. He has an army consisting of about 14 ranged goons. Crazy has taken his natural, and fortified it with a turret, a few tanks, and about a set of mixed infantry. Ghost, now with a surplus of minerals, takes his mineral only natural. He has about 7 gateways pumping zealots, dragoons, and templar. Krone has his island expansion in the bottom right almost fully operation, and has warped a large army of goons and dts.

Soon enough, the silence is broken when

Crazy announces he is going to turbo newbie Mark4's natural. 3 marines, an scv, and a tank jump into a newly made dropship, captained by a disturbing captain that looks surprisingly like one in an Aliens movie. She ferries them across the map, through his partner Krone's base, and up into the ramp. Krone provides Crazy with an observer, and the scv builds a bunker, and then a turret to the south of the ledge. The tank seiges up, and begins firing with impunity upon the goons on lower ground. Mark4 quickly realizes this, and frantically asks Ghost for help. Sure enough, Ghost responds. He has gotten Robotics tech by now, and has a shuttle. He load up 3 zealots and a templar and ferries them over. Ghost is able to unload all his troops before the turret blasts the shuttle away, and his zealots begin attacking the tank, while also acting as cannon fodder for the templar, who quickly casts a storm on it. The tank is shortly destroyed, and only the bunker remains.

gay ...

During this,

Krone has taken his natural, and has about 18 goons and 6 dts. Mark4 has taken his second natural, and has a few less goons than Krone. Ghost has around 12 zealots, 12 dragoons, and a few dark templar. Crazy has 6 tanks, 18 marines, 5 ghosts, and a few medics. (Yes, i missed his teching to Covert Ops).

Ghost decides that now is a good time to attack, and sends his force towards Krone's base. However, he AGAIN forgets to group his troops together before his attack, and his infantry goes into the battle in very poor fashion. First Ghost sends in his first set of zealogoons, and despite a couple nice storms, is easily overwhelmed. Then he sends in his zealots (with no speed upgrade) single file. Although they number about 12, compared to Krone's 9 dragoons, Krone also has 6 dts who he had neglected until now, and Ghost, being the tactical genius he is, forgot to bring an observer. So, as expected, the dts and dragoons rip apart the zealots quite easily. The battle is clearly won by Krone, and he has about 8 dragoons and 6 dts remaining.

this was purely AWFUL battle managing. i was cringing

Crazy and Mark4 have not been idle, and engaging in combat of their own. Crazy, after seeing that his initial tank had died, ships two more in a dropship over to where his bunker still stood. The tanks landed safely, and seiged up. However, Mark4 had templar by this time. Mark4 used his protoss touch and quickly stormed the tanks twice, and since they were right next to eachother, they both met their maker at the same moment.

mark is gosu stormer

Same old same old

Krone had originally called for help from his partner, but underestimated Ghost's stupidity, so as you know, he was fine. Crazy's large army was already on route though, and since he figured that Ghost had to be very weak after losing all of his troops in that failed assult, he turned his troops south, and seiged up Ghost's mineral only natural. 5 tanks seige up, and 15 marines, 4 ghosts, and 2 medics tag along. A helpful scv builds a turret for detection. Crazy, being a little overanxious, stims his marines up and charges into Ghost's mineral only. However, he underestimated the gayness of storm, because within moments his marines were totally blugeoned. Mark4, sensing his partner may need help, brings his large amount of goons south. He briefly goes toward's Crazy's base to attack a floating CC that Crazy had constructed to float to his mineral only, and then got past that idea and moved his army down, seperated into 2 parts, to flank the tanks/infantry. The plan works perfectly, as Ghost also attacks with some newly qued zealots, and Crazy's seige is destroyed within moments.

ghosts are cool ... but they suck

Don't think that Krone has been idle during this time. After being attacked by Ghost, he qued up more forces, and once he saw that Mark4's troops were down helping Ghost get out of his lil predicament, he decided that attacking Mark4 would be a good idea. He attacks Mark4 with about 8 dragoons and 8 dts. Krone keeps Mark4 busy with his goons and a couple dts, while he sends his remaining dts to Mark4's defenseless natural. The dts quickly raze Mark4's probes and then Nexus, and Mark4 calls Ghost for help. He also sends his own troops that were a second ago saving Ghost, back to his base to save himself. Ghost, able to quickly replenish his forces with 7-8 gateways, came to the scene with several zealots and dragoons, while Mark4 has about 10 dragoons. With the aid of a brand new observer from Mark4, they are able to easily kill Krone's dragoons and dts.

Mark4 was smart enough to realize that you need observers to kill dts

Having defeated Krone's troops, Mark4 moves his probes to his mineral only, where he has already warped in 3 cannons for defense. However, he finds to his dismay that Crazy has dropped 6 marines and 2 medics with a dropship, bypassing his cannons. The marines vaporize all the probes they can reach before Mark4 runs them away. Staying out of cannon range, Crazy slowly kills Mark4's mineral only nexus.

poor mark

While Mark4's mineral only was dieing, Ghost send a small force of about 7 zealots to Krone's natural. He found it defended by a dt (which he couldn't see since he had no obs ...), and was able to kill all the probes there before Krone was able to get reinforcements of goons that came from his 6+ gateways.

Shortly after this, Mark4 reclaims his natural. Unfortunately for him, for now he is forced to long distance mine, rendering him very short on minerals until his nexus finishes warping in. After a very brief calm, Ghost and Mark4 decide to attack Krone again. They bring a combined amount of about 3 sets of zealots and dragoons, and a templar or two. Krone has a mere army of 8 dragoons, and they turn into puddles of blue soup within moments. Krone's natural is quickly destroyed, and he calls for help. Crazy has a large amount of tanks and infantry, but either for lazyness of mobility, only chooses to send his infantry. Unfortunately, infantry doesn't do particularly well against storm. Nonetheless, the large force of marines (w/o medics), are able to destroy a couple templar and a few dragoons and zealots. Mark4 and Ghost had moved up Krone's ramp though, so Crazy decided not to engage the forces, since they had the elevation advantage.

this 21 game sucks compared to who wants to be a millionare

Crazy realized that trying to kill that force in Krone's base would be suicide, and since Krone still would have the island, he should instead try to counter one of his opponents. He choose Mark4, preying on the weaker opponent. Despite being stormed a couple times over by Krone's base, he still had quite a large force of marines, medics, and tanks. He attacks Mark4 with about 15 marines, 4 medics, and 4 tanks. He goes to Mark4's natural, which had just finished building, and razed it and many escaping probes with no casulties. Finished with that job, he attempted to push his way up Mark4's ramp, which actually had nothing there except a pylon (remember Mark4 was pretty much dry). Ghost had not neglected his partner though, and brought a few troops over to help. Thanks to a couple nice storms, he was able to destroy all of the tanks and medics with only a templar casulty. Crazy charged into Mark4's base, his marines numbed by drugs. Ghost sent more help though, in the form of many a dragoon, and since the marines were without medic support, they were quickly killed. Crazy had destroyed Mark4's only source of income, and Mark4 was once again reduced to long distance mining.

martin, you are a newbie

Once Ghost saved Mark4's base, the partners decided that now would be a good time to attack Crazy. So they their forces in the middle, and guess what happens?

Yep. So why did he leave? No one knows. Mark4 didn't even know. Chances are that he didn't actually leave the game, but rather got some type of error or whacked dis or something. Maybe his daddy pulled the computer plug from him? Hrmmm.

Theoretically, I could analyze the current situation. Mark4 and Krone were both pretty much dead, reduced to long distance mining and an island expansion (although Krone was rebuilding stuff on the mainland with a probe). Crazy had his natural and mineral only fully mining, and was floating a CC to the North West island. He had like 8+ tanks and 20+ infantry. Ghost had only his mineral only, with about 40 probes on it, due to the fact that he got his natural running earlier and therefore mined it out faster. With 40 probes mining on an small mineral only, it would have gone very quickly. He had about 18, maybe 24 zealots and goons, and a few templar. So in my opinion, mainly due to economy advantage, i think that Crazy would have won. However, we will never know. A few gay storms could have swung the side in Ghost's favor.

Unfortunately, I forgot to get a pic of the final scores! Sorry =[ Game time was 38 minutes though, i remember that.

Lessons learned

  • Giving allies and vision is a very difficult task
  • Mark4 plays with a shoot me target on him thanks to his rep
  • Ghost is bad manner
  • I shouldn't have posted this amidst these gosu brs
  • Comments are a good thing, give me comments of die plz
