Players: T.T.Boy vs. nosegoblin
I wasn't planning on BR'ing this game, so go easy on me. The only thing interesting about this game is an example of how effective d-matrix is for terran.
T.T. randomed and got zerg, and spawned his ugly, pulsing hatchery at the 3:00 start position.
Nosegoblin (that's my name, don't wear it out) randoms and got the micro-intensive terran, and lands the cc with a big cloud of dust at the 6:00 start.
I start my usual terran vs random build with a wall-in at my choke with depot/rax a la heartcutter, but holding off on a 2nd depot until my scout scv finds my opponent. Luckily I scout counter-clockwise, finding the sporty zerg with a hatch going up at the choke, and gas up with pool already constructed. I quickly put up another rax at the choke, opting to build my 2nd depot slightly later back by my minerals. During that time, I forgot about poor ol' goober (my scout), who dies to drones. Doh!
Seeing the choke hatch, I go straight for a m+m drop. Up goes an acad 1st (so I can hold my choke more effectively with some med back-up), then fac without add-on, then starport. In the mean time I pump rines and meds at a 3:1 ratio.
Stim finishes with my dropship about 3/4 done, and I put 6 rines and 2 meds in once the ship is ready. I scan T.T.'s main and min line totally unprotected. WTF? A lair was morphing I think, but another scan shows no expo at this natural either. Where are his resources going to?
A flash of brillance goes through my brain (something rare for me), and I decide to sneak a peak at the 12:00 main before dropping t.t.'s main. Sure enough, an unprotected expo with about 10 drones on mins and 2-3 on gas. I unload & stim up. Down it goes. During that I prepared another dropship load of m+m to tag along, and get sci fac and another starport for sv's. I keep pumping m+m from only 2 rax, and somewhere along I sneak a engr bay in there and a turret at my walled-in choke in case T.T. gets sneaky and tries a lurker maneuver.
I get my two dropships together up above his 3:00 main, and head in to still find nothing! Needless to say it fell fast, and couple of sunkens below his main hatch didn't hold up either. While I was doing that, 6 mutes start tagging my scv's at my main. With all my troops at his main, I was in a little trouble but not as much as T.T. I irradiated a mute with relatively fresh sv, and marched my m+m mob back home. I lost most of my scv's but only one building fell (a turret). Another irradiate and some m+m took out those pesky mutes. He wisely flew a few away.
At this point, I had floated an expo cc to my natural, fortified it with a few turrets, and loaded up my original two dropships and with 3 sv's as back-up. I had scanned the 9:00 main and saw T.T. trying to make a come-back. He had a few mutes and about 5 sunkens defending.
I irradiated one of the mutes and retreated my sv, and then landed my dbl dropship task force above his extractor, avoiding the sunkens for now. I moved in and took out two sunkens and the extractor, but before pushing further to try to take out the other three sunkens, I wisely waited about 10 secs for my sv's to recharge for some d-matrix magic. I d-matrixed three lead marines and stimmed and let them loose. Some fresh lings with the sunkens aiding managed to kill 3 marines, but the 3 d-matrixed marines held fast. T.T.'s response... "those are hard to kill".
I found out post game that T.T. was trying a turbo-guardian build, but he admittedly said he sux with zerg. No problem, I do to!
That's about it. A pretty weak BR, but it was fun. It reminded me of a similar game where I had 6~8 3/3 marines with med back-up and I took out 4~6 lurks because I matrixed almost all of them =].
