This map was totally foreign to me, and guiu. had memorized it, so it really wasn't a fair game. I started off with the same build that had brought me luck before, three Drones while scouting with my Overlord, then a Spawning Pool, then a Hatchery at what appeared to be an out-of-the-way place. Taking a look at the map in StarEdit, I don't think there's a WORSE place I could have expanded! I had sent out some scouting Zerglings, but being so unfamiliar with the map, none of them found my opponents. In the meantime, both my ally and I were found. It was decided that I would be Zealot and Marine rushed, being taken out quickly by this combination. I told my ally "Attack green," figuring that my expansion was hidden and I could rebuild out of it, and their offensive would retreat to defeat green's attack. I was wrong on the first account, and semi-wrong on the other. While a lot of troops did leave to deal with Stimmed Marines and Firebats along with Medics, enough stayed behind to take out all of my guys. I attempted to fight back with Drones, and this worked for awhile, but I couldn't get enough together to build a Spawning Pool. Soon afterwards, I counted myself among the dead and surrendered. |
