Shadow|)ragon Vs. rflagg
Greetings and welcome to the combatants arena! Our main battle of the day pits Shadow|)ragon (Toss) vs. rflagg (Terran). I had the chance to find them just before they began their game and asked if I could do this report. Thus, here it is. I apologize tho, this is my first report and I'm unable to provide images for you now. That's what imaginations are for!
The game begins after each bid the other good luck. They both let the fate of the gods select their races. Shadow warps his nexus into the bottom left corner, while rflagg's CC constructs at middle left.
Starting Orders:
Shadow builds 9 drones and finds his natural expansion quickly, constructing another Nexus there, letting it build while collecting minerals. Once completed, creates more probes and gathers until he's reached his limit, then goes pylon, gate, forge, pylon and brings in a few cannons and zeals around his base.
rflagg gets 8 scv's and makes a depot, barracks and gas while training marines. He finds his natural and uses a few scv's to start mining from it. He techs to academy and brings in bats to assist the rines.
FIGHT!
The first main action begins after Shadow's expanded for the third time, taking the second natural above his first, closing the gap between the two. He leaves no cannons at the top, and allows four rines to mash some probes until three zeals make their way to the rescue, aided by the cannon under the nexus.
The taunting goes back and forth for awhile until a final time when rflagg brings his rines and bats down a little too much into an ambush of three cannons, a few drones and more zeals. Countering, Shadow sends in his dozen mixed troops to find a few newly popped rines and bats, making quick waste of them, and a wide open base to thrash. The base took some losses of buildings, but to much avail, the attack was thwarted.
Shortly after, a couple reavers were dropped in on rflagg's main scv patch and made quick scrap metal of the remaining poor souls. Gathering what forces he had left, rflagg challenged the reavers with a dozen bats, but to much avail, found he only added to the shrapnel of body parts to lie around. Once more, he challenged them with rines this time, and forced them back into the dropship and away. Given time, rflagg took the two top left and right patches and expanded to gain more wealth. He amassed some siege tanks and played with the front line cannons Shadow had originally, until Shadow got bored and sent a few psi storms and zeals to clean up the pests. After they tanks were removed, Shadow releases his force onto rflaggs base, tearing it to rubble, then expandes to a middle patch and builds his army and upgrades.
With observers scouting for left over buildings, he comes upon rflagg's top right base. Guarding it are approx. 18 marines and 8 bats. Shadow loads up two shuttles and drops the reavers just outside the marines, making short work of weak horseless calvary. He charges his forces into the base and begins whipping rflagg. Reinforcements come from the left base just in time to meet up with some psi storms and left over reaver scarabs.
With a last breath of air, rflagg admits defeat and surrenders. GG's were exchanged and the game was ended. Victory goes out to Shadow|)ragon.
