"Private Taylor remarked 'Deon, you was one of my homies. I will mourn you until I join you.' With that, he proceeded to pour a 40oz bottle of Old English malt liquor onto the spot of the now defunct expansion."

It was another usual day in NoHunters; spammers, retarded bots, [ne]skittles acting gay. Then the lightbulb in my head ignited. "Hmm, self, why don't your write a battlereport?" After having a player disc, finding other people to play, waiting for the players, yelling at the scenario map file not being distributed, and waiting for the players again, I finally got a chance to observe a game.

This is my first BR. Why are you looking at my alt text?

The Lost Temple - Who *HASN'T* seen it? Map: Lost Temple
Game Style: Brood War
Players:
CynicalMagician: Randomed Zerg at 3:00
slingsnarrows: Chose Zerg at 9:00

Both players put their drones on minerals and send their overlords to scout. Cynical goes for the 10/9 extractor trick, then makes a another hatchery next to his first, followed by a spawning pool and an extractor. When his pool is completed, he morphs a sunken.

slings goes overlord, hatchery at ramp, spawning pool. Once the spawning pool is completed he morphs an extractor at his main and a hatchery at his natural. Right about now, Cynical decides to announce something:

Ah keep playin ya drunk bastard...

We shall see, my friend, we shall see...

The first few lings from both sides are sent scouting. During this Cynical slaps down a Hydra Den, which is completed just as his zergling reaches slings's main. slings puts a sunken next to the hatch at his ramp and sends two of his own lings to kill the scout. The lings play tag for a few seconds before the "threat" is eliminated.

Cynical begins a hatchery at his natural, and upgrades his main to a lair. slings sends a control group of zerglings at his enemy, while also upgrading to lair. The following is not pretty...

The lings arrive just as Cynical's hatchery completes. The attackers dispatch the 9 lings that are defending, then proceed to rip the recently formed hatchery a new asshole. The remaining 8 lings are sent to Cynical's main, but are easily dispatched by sunkens, hydras, and a few lings. During this, slings morphs an extractor and another sunken at his natural.

Now that's what I call being ripped a new asshole

It's the....... SPIRE!!!!!! Holding off the attack, Cynical recreates the hatchery at his natural and continues to pump hydras/lings. He also makes two lurkers to ensure that his natural is not destroyed again. slings slaps down a spire at his ramp, then starts creating mutas/lings.

Hydras VS Mutas, the battle of the.. uh.. nevermind Slings expands to the 6:00 main, and sends some lings and 4 mutas at Cynical to cause some trouble. The expansion is quickly noticed by a patrolling overlord, and Cynical sends a control group of lings to destroy it. The lings barely escape being intercepted by slings attack group and proceed to force him to cancel the hatchery. slings lings are sent to distract Cynical's troops, while his mutas attack the supply line. The muta/ling combo was quickly destroyed, but not without killing many mindless drones. Meanwhile, slings tries to remake the hatchery at 6, but once again it is destroyed, this time for good.

Cynical then makes a evo chamber at his natural and two more hatcheries at his main, while slings morphs in a queen's nest. Before long, the mutas are back, but this time they first attack Cynical's natural, then after drawing some of his troops another group of mutas attack his main. Once again they are dispatched with hydralisks and newly morphed spore colonies. The colonies are destroyed, but are quickly rebuilt, along with the lost drones.

slings's queen's nest is completed, and he creates another hatchery next to main along with upgrading to a hive. He then sends a group and a half of lings in front of Cynical's natural, and expands to the top-left island. The opposing lings try to lure their forces towards one another, but to no avail, and slings's zerglings become lurker chow.

Both players come under fire as Cynical drops two ovies full of hydras at sling's main, and sling attacks Cynical's main with a control group of mutalisks. The hydras face little opposition as they completely destroy their enemy's base, and slings's mutas are being eaten for lunch. Things looks grim for him, but there is a shimmer of hope as slings makes a hatchery at 12, and begins morphing his remaining mutas into guardians.

Purple attacks!!!
Brown attacks too!!!

Cynical loads up his force, and sends them on their way to slings's island expansion, even though his own main is being pulverized by guardians. The island is destroyed, and the troops are ferried to 12, but slings has almost destroyed Cynical's main. However, the purple zerg morph another hatchery at the 12 natural, almost assuring victory. But wait!! slings has morphed another hatchery at 6! This still doesn't seem to help him, however, since troops are enroute to the budding hatchery and Cynical's main has yet to be destroyed.

The guardians finished of Cynical's main, and our now working on the 12 natural. In a last ditch effort, slings morphs an extractor at the 6 natural. I'll let the pictures tell the rest...

It's the EXTRACTOR OF DOOM!@!@!@!

THAT'S RIGHT!!! SLINGSNARROWS WON WITH AN EXTRACTOR!!! AMAZING!!!!

Oh, btw, this is my first report so please give me all the tips you can. I know this one sucks hard but I want to get better. Thank you to both players for letting me watch this wonderful game, I really didn't do it justice...

Look, it's QuadManiac!
