Be The Borg
In the game of Starcraft everyone learns build orders. Using build orders can help you to get better, but it can also spell your doom if you use it too much. You must learn to adapt to the situation. Mix it up. Become the Borg!
Game 1  vs.Fox^1
Map: LT
Races: Fox^1(Chosen Zerg) at the 9
(Chosen Toss) at the 12
I do a standard build against toss.
9 Overlord
13 Hatchery at expansion
13 Pool
13 3rd Hatchery
I am just minding my own business when a probe shows up and harasses my hatchery. NP I don't mind that, soon after that an early zealot comes. I mean early he is there right before my spawning pool is done. Hmmm I think that is some early pylon gateway action. But I still think that I am o.k. Soon another zealot comes. Now he has 2 zealots and 1 probe and my lings just start to hatch. I have 8 ready. 6 from my main and 2 from my expansion. I also set a sunken to try to fend him off at my expansion. He starts to pound on the sunken forgetting the hatchery totally. My lings pound on the zealots and cause him to retreat they then turn around and engage again when I see 2 more zealots joining the fray.
ACK I say Guess I shouldn't have powered so hard! I send 2 drones down and I make more lings. Soon 2 more zealots come. Note I have lost probably 6 lings so far and  has not even lost 1 zealot yet, even though some are in yellow and 1 is in red. I try to put down another sunken doesn't work. He now has 8 zealots and 1 probe. I had about 12 lings or so with 6-8 more coming, but the zealots keep pouring in. I use my micro to the best of my ability, but  keeps the ratio of zealots to lings at about 2-1. I fend him off again taking 2 zealots that were there from the beginning game. So I try to engage him at his main with 16 lings. I go back to his base and he has a natural just about to warp in and about 10 zealots. I run away going back to my base and start to pump drones like crazy. As soon as I leave his base he starts to advance on mine with about 12 zealots. I have about 16 lings and a sunken. We both micro well but with 3 zealots coming from probably 3 gateways I lose my expansions, and the game is his. 2 expansions for the Protoss and 1 for the zerg is not a winning solution for me.
I give him a GG and ask for a rematch.
Things I learned:
1. just choosing Toss should cause you to freak out and cause you to concede. It's like Mark4 choosing zerg 8)
2. Thinking that in a zerg vs. toss match up that you are going to easily get your expansion may get you to power to hard. caught me powering just a tad to hard and I paid for it.
3. In a zealot rush against zerg. Keeping your zealots alive is very crucial  did a wonderful job of microing. Great Job!
Game 2  vs.Fox^1
Map: LT
Races: Fox^1(Chosen Zerg) at the 9
(Chosen Toss) at the 12
This time around I was going to be the Borg and adapt. I did a faster build to fend off any hopes of a zealot rush
9 overlord
12 Hatchery
12 Pool
13 3rd Hatchery
 does the same annoying dam thing and tries to zealot rush me, but this time I am prepared for it. I fend it off easy and take 1 zealot. knows it will not be cost effective for him to do this and retreats. I still don't trust him he could attack with a large force. So I massed a few more lings. I then scouted with 1 and saw he only had about 5 zealots. I had about 20-24 lings. I ran them up to do as much damage as I could. I also put down a spire thinking that he would be expecting hydras instead. I could feel the essence of the Borg flowing through me.
I was able to kill all of his zealots, but then I saw something very horrifying. 2 robo bays and 2 shuttles with reavers already coming out. OMG I had spent so much money on lings. His reavers and probes take out the rest of my lings. Then comes the beat down. My spire wasn't even done yet, and I saw him ferrying the shuttle over. I tried to get a sunken down, but the reavers don't care about sunkens. My spire was finished and I started on some mutas. The 2 reavers dropped on my main. I started a hydra den at my natural then I moved my drones and waited for my mutas to finish.
I sent some lings to keep the reavers from pounding on my spire and Lair. The mutas came out, but  just put the reavers back in the shuttle and brought them back to his main. I started working again and got some hydras and a few mutas. Crazy then showed up at my main with 3 corsairs 5 goons and 4 reavers. GAME OVER! I could just hear  saying, "We are the Borg resistance if futile" I thought that I was the Borg, but  had adapted for better then I did. Great Game again, and I said 1 MORE TIME!!!!!
Things I learned:
1. Reavers > Lings and Sunkens. Believe me. =[
2. I should have never gotten the hydra den and just stayed with the mutas. I might have had a chance, but he did have 3 corsairs.
3. Don't get down. Be confident. 3rd game was coming up and I had to get my revenge.
Game 3:Crazy: vs.. Fox^1
Map: LT
Races: Fox^1(Chosen Zerg) at the 6
The Borg I mean (Chosen Toss) at the 9
Enough! had raped me in the 1st two games in a match up that is suppose to be unbalanced to my favor. He was the Borg, but I was Captain Picard and now it was time for me to get revenge! I started out with what I would like to call the Grrrr... I mean the Picard Maneuver.
9 Overlord
12 Hatchery at expansion
12 Pool
11 Gas!!!!!!
I knew 2 things. If he was going to rush me again I would hold it off with my quicker pool, if he backed off I would hydra rush him! He does show up with his probe but this time when my lings start to morph. 3 more probes + a zealot come. WTF? The Borg I mean  was using his knowledge of the collective against me. But I was Picard and I starred in DUNE!!!!!!!! FEAR ME!!!!! I put down my hydra den and
attacked with 8 lings.
I attack his probes directly forgetting his zealots. I killed all 4 and with 4 more lings I caused him to run away. I didn't even start to make any drones for my expansion. I just started to pump hydras. When I had 8 speedy hydras I checked his main. He had an expansion coming with 11 zealots with defense. I rallied my hatches and started my attack with 8 hydras and 10 lings. I killed all but 5 of his zealots and I ran my 6 damaged hydras to 4 healthy ones I attacked again.
He had 3 cannons warping in and a total of 7 zealots I was able to take all but 2 of his zealots when 2 more and a dragoon reinforced. I brought 2 more hydras bringing my total to 9 and took down his zealots. I saw the 3 cannons just about to warp in and that he had only 1 pylon covering them. I quickly took down the pylon which made  rather displeased. I brought more hydras fought off a few goons and then razed his expansion. He gave me a GG and I told him, "THE LINE MUST BE DRAWN HERE!!!!" j/k I gave him a GG.
Things I Learned:
1. I could have quit after  had spanked me in those 2 games. But I didn't. Have confidence in yourself and keep playing especially when you lose because it will only make you better
2. Fast Hydras won me the game. If I had powered again like last time, I may have lost. had an expansion already coming and we were going to be on equal terms. I decided to change and catch him off guard. It worked
3. Captain Picard > The Borg He was in Dune FOR GODS SAKE!!!!
Thanks to  for some great games. His toss is really good. Before these 3 games about 2 days prior he beat me 3 games straight with zealot rushes. Maybe I power to hard?...... NAH!
