| ARGH, you have no idea
how hard it is with gay bnet to get a good game going. This one took many tries, with thie
discing and the lag and the bleh. Well lets forget about the bad stuff, and rock on
with the game. So here goes: Ack, wait. Gota do the gay warning first, wait till the "50
pics remaining" thingy get to about 5 before you scroll down. Waiting for 0
would be better, but whatever.
So if your laoded and ready
to go...I present:
The..Zealot
vs
SHIN~Damion[PD]
This game I planned.
I've sort of been wanting to do a BR on The..Zealot for awhile. Hes damn good.
But with a gay opponent, this would be boring right? So I went and found the most
'decent challenge' for him. SHIN~Damion[pd] =p. Nah, im fuxin around.
Damion is up there to the point where he could really get The..Zealot thinking....or
more!..Read on:
Ok, then time for some clan
explanations. The.. IS a clan. However, it's mostly korean/french, and so i had a
really hard time keeping up with them, so basically, i kept the name (which didn't offend
them), and moved on.
[PD] (Protoss Domination) is a
fine clan thats lasted for about 1.5 years. I have been in the clan for 7 months or
so. And honestly, i'm not sure if i'm even still in it...but that's a personal
issue, and you ppl dont give a shit, so on with the report:
Player Profiles:
The..Zealot: Easily
one of the most awesome player i've ever seen. He just plain rocks. He's
Korean tho, so he dosent have much popularity around nohunters. Most players i've
seen play him, talk about him like there scared of him. His record is around
400-100-10. However, it shoots up in numbers over night. In a time of about 8
hours, he has gained about 40 wins. Its crazy.
SHIN~Damion[PD]: Well, sorry if I made Zealot sound somewhat
dominant. But don't count Damion out at all. One of the best in [PD], and
played with alot of the best. So Zealot can't just sit through this one.
The Game:
Map: Lost Temple (no
more dissing LT jokes ok?)

SHIN~Damion[PD]: Random Terran / 12 / purple
The..Zealot: Chosen
Toss / 6 / white
Early Game and
Builds:
The..Zealot
makes the first decision of the game, by scouting with his first probe. Damion went random, so he needs to know his opponents race obviously,
and chooses to find him early on. He does a standard:
8Pylon / 10 Gate/Gas /
12Pylon
The story here, however is his
scouting probe. He sent it on a 3-12-9 scout mission, and instead of having to make
it to Damion's base, the probe passes Damion's
early scouting SCV at the
3oclock choke. Then, the probe
continued into the 3oclock base as the scv followed the probe to attack it. Damion
wanted it dead.
Damion's SCV made a bad move. Thanks to it following
the probe, it had stopped doing its job: scouting. He soon realized this and left
the probe alone, and headed to....the 9oclock base (DoH!) Damion did a:
8depot / 10rax
(wallin) / 13rax/gas
Now Damoin's wallin may have needed another depot, to actualy
close the wallin, and prevent early zealots. Instead, he ended up with a single
depot and a rax for..defense, the start to a wallin. The reason for this was that Damion was looking to tech, hoping he could get some tanks early on, and
pull of some oh-so-famous "gay LT Terran strats".
Damion's worst fear at the moment, seems to be DT. Sacrificing a
solid wallin, he quickly throws up an
engineering bay for turrets, an Academy, for comsat, and other obvious teching. And
finally, a Factory. And while teching to siege mode, throws in some vultures for mines and possibly MORE DT
defense. However, this long period has left him open to quick zealots. This is
a risk Damion is willing to take, and it pays off. Luckily Zealot
sends no zealots.
So what has Zealot been
doing? So far, no zealots. In fact by the time Damion has his Engineering Bay up, Zealot has made no attacking
units. He has been working on a tech build. With Zealot's godly
micro, he feels safe going straight for goons, with fast gas and all. His base is
pretty compact, everything near his nexus. And Zealot has a way of
rallying just about all his units to somewhere out in the middle of the map, to get the
advantage of speed. He tries this with a few goons. And with Damion's shortage of units (about 8 rines and a couple vultures) 4 goons can
do suprising damage. However, the vultures have there mines, which play a big role
in the small battle. The rines fa ll easily to the
goons, but serve as a distraction for the vultures to come in and do their work, without
detection, mines>goons, and Damion
survies the first attack of
the game, with the loss of almost all of his units.
With both players having a
steady cash flow, they can both afford to tech easily.
Damion puts down the first starport, and immediately gets a
science facility. He also manages to get tanks with
siege, and ignores making rines for the moment.

Zealot has
made a solid army of goons, about 2 DT, and one Darckarchon =). He sends it all to
the middle of the map, as usual. Damion
also has a decent army of, well tanks. Lone tanks along with one Science Vessel,
smartly, he seiges only a few of them leaving some ready to attack at close range. Zealot
throws up a robo factory, and makes a dropship, just for this task. Both
players have the same idea about rallying in the middle, so undoubtedly, the first
major battle ensues. Here is where things get interesting:
With the fastest reflexes, and
the fastest god damn hand movement I can imagine, Zealot : Smacks the sci
vessel with feedback, loads 2 goons into his dropship,
orders his goons to attack ONLY the seiged tanks, and one goon per vulture....ALL in about
5 seconds. Fuxing amzing. With no way to DM, or more likely, EMP, few sieged tanks left, no
vultrues (no mines) and the remainder of his tanks getting beat down, Damion has one simple reaction. And I don't blame him, all the
moves and attack in about 5-10 seconds. Thats it. It was over.
With Damion on edge and a little rattled at that display, Zealot decides
to take map control. He attempts to grab the 3oclock main, and somewhat try to
'scare' Damion. However, there had been a lone vulture
waiting at the expansion, and mister vulture said Pylon is a no-no. Zealot decides
not to continue to fortify this expansion for now, because Damion's on to him.
Ok lets update: At this
point, both players have there natural expansion up and running, and are both going for
the same units that were used in the last attack.
Damion, however, has decided to get more rines this
time. With Zealot's numerous observers, he quickly pumps out high
temps, ready to storm the rines. Zealot has also decided to
unexpectedly, throw up a Nexus at the 3oclock main. Seeing as another fight might
come soon, and he could use the advantage.
There forces shortly meet in
the middle once again. Damion's
force being somewhat
smaller this time..a suprise to both me and Zealot. He, however,
has mixed up a good number of goons, as well as some DT, and once again..the dreaded
Darkarchon. Both players have there units face off, at a distance just far enough
from the AI to grab, and force an attack. Things are tense...unitl the fight
actually starts. Because it turns out, Zealot has loaded his high
temps into a dropship, and is looking to take the backdoor on Damion and storm his minerals. The shuttle flies over Damion's force, and realizes he may need them for the fight. But
it's too late, the fight has started:
The attack seems to happen
slowly, in sections. First Zealot has to take out about 4 rines and
a medic with about 12 goons. =\. Then
about 3 seiged tanks that zealots handle easily. Then finally, a better,
but still weak attack with 5 tanks, a couple vultures, and a sci vessel. Once again,
mean ol' DA strikes with feedback. But Zealot is confused.
Why such a lame army? Well, Zealot ain't dumb. He knows something is up. His
observers had spotted a much bigger army than the one he killed. But where was
it?. Zealot was not able to find out, so instead decides to take
the 3oclock main completely, building some pylons, and a few gateways for continuous goon
production.
Well Damion is definetly up to something, all at this point, Zealot is
simply trying to get a good enough army to sustain whatever it is. He still has a decent army from the last weak fight, and is dying to use it. But
he chooses to wait it out, see what the Terran is going to do, and make an army.
Then, out of nowhere, Damion
uses the very popular
"gay LT terran strat" known as: "Tank shoots long way across river to hit
gas". This dosent seem to affect Zealot
at all. He is more focused on his army. And has been rallying it in
the middle of the map. It looks damaging enough to destroy his opponent's base,
however, he continues to let it grow.
So now, Zealot has
no gas at his exp, however he has managed to throw up a Stargate, along with a Fleet
Beacon. With a fresh corsair looming over the Stargate, it looks as if Zealot is
interested in some Gayweb. But then i turn my attention to my minimap and notice some interesting purple dots. Of course, the
turn out to be dropships, sneaking up on Zealot's base.
And there it is. A full
force drop by Damion. With all of Zealot's army
in the middle of the map. The Terran forces go to town on
Zealot's base. Putting up bunkers, and even a barracks, the tear
into the Protoss base with all they've got. However, even with the massive damage, Zealot's
forces have not come to save his base. He seems to be
thinking about it, because he eventually moves them back to his base. slowly but
surely.
Then, as his forces arrive at
the ramp of his main, a light goes off in Zealot's head. With most
of the terran forces ripping at his base, Damion must
not have many defenseive units. Sure, there turrets and
bunkers,
but hell, Zealot has Gayweb! So his forces make a U-Turn, and move
head-on into the Terran base fast as possible.

Now, its a race. Damion's drop forces moving fast as they can to tear down Zealot's
main. But Zealot's happy. He has his expansion,
and has already started to rebuild his tech buildings. And with his dominating army,
Zealot gaywebs, and goons his way into Damion's base. Tearing it apart. The 12oclock natural is also razed by Zealot's
force of goons, DTs, zealots, corsairs, and archons. Damion's base is now gone.
However, so is Zealot's.
Both players with significant forces leftover. Damion realizes he has no main, and must rebuild. So he uses Zealot's former base, and throws down supply depots, barracks,
factorys, and academys, all he can before Zealot desrtoys his command
center at 12. Then he would be able to build none of these things. However, Damion should have invested in a Command Center himself. Because
now he has a base next to no minerals. The closest are the few left at the 6oclock
natural and mineral only.
Zealot, however,
has a new base, and is mining away, hurrying to get the units to kill the Terran before
they can get back on there feet. Damion
has no resource flow, and he realizes he must stop Zealot from
having one. That, right now, is the most important thing. So he takes some of
the drop forces that took out the main, and loads them up, flying quickly toward Zealot's
new mineral line. He takes out many of the probes, but once again, instead
of coming back to his base, Zealot send all his forces directly to Damion's new base. There
is enough leftover however, to kill the intruding rines this time.and before that last one
dies, it catches a last second glimpse of what just popped out of the Stargate. A
Carrier.
I would imagine Zealot
had lots of money left from all the mining and expansions, but now, Damion was in trouble. Zealot had managed to whip
up an army faster than I had ever seen. All of the sudden 8 carriers,
about 30 goons, archons, zealots, all without delay right into Damion's new base. Thinking it was going to be down to the last building, Damion had placed a barracks in the top right corner of the map for
gayness...I mean a last building, in case he needed it...gay. Obviously, it was NOT
that way at all.
With this kind of army, Damion's base would soon be gone...
Heres some last minute game
dialogue:

WINNER:
THE..ZEALOT
SCORE

Conclusion:
Well it was a nice game.
At some points it looked all-Zealot. Then it seemed to go either way.
This is one of those games that really keeps the players on their toes. You gota be
ready for anything and make the right decision.(ie. Zealots base is going down, so he
takes Damion's base down with his much bigger army)
And now heres some pre-and
post game talk from the ever-so-funny Korean, The..Zealot:

So basically.
The..Zealot is a non-hacking, american chick obsessed, cigarette loving starcraft
player. What a guy. Well thats all for now.
