Lifetime Rating for Upgraded_Probe: 4.2500 |  | After playing a few games with Orne earlier in NH, we were looken for some more games. I offered a "2v2, need two more, VS Me and Orne!" him "Yea" . Jim~LiZaRd says "Probe, make i'll play" at first I didnt want to, because I knew that he was an awesome player, tourneys and stuff! But after we find out (ok, we already knew) that the whole world was sleeping and AFK, we accepted. His partner, GiGGLes~LiZaRd joined, and after chatting, bafrooming, and getting spaghetti, we started. Jim got the "Unable to identify goofy ass map" (in his words) or whatever it says message and he was dropped. So we remade, and we were off.
MAP: Road To NOwhere (96x192 dimensions, Four player max)
Locations+Races: Me, Top left Random Zerg
Orne, middle-ish, left Random Protoss
Jim, middle-ish, right Random Terran
GiGGLes, Bottom right Random Terran
EARLY GAME:
I started off double hatching on 9, and placing the hatch at the Mineral+Gas exp. Below me. I scout out and find Jim, and I ask orne to scout, but he says "I Scout in Force, (3 zealots). He eventually scouts out and finds Giggles' Exp near the bottom left, and destroys it. There was a Barracks and a command center flashing when it was hit, it falls easily. Orne begins to tech to reavers and speed up'ed shuttles.. I am making lots of zerglings, drones, and hydralisks. Orne attacks Giggles with a force of about (im taking a guess as I didnt watch the battle 4 zealots and 4 dragoons...?) Anyways, Orne damages giggles pretty good, and finds that Jim has sent a large reinforcing army to help giggles. He says "Attack Jim, his army is in the field!" The thing was that I previously told 8 zerglings to attack him through a back entrance (Big map made it take a while) and just as he said that my Zerglings arrived. I tore through his scv's like crazy. Finnally after killing about half, he retreats them to his frontal blockade of marines , and my zerglings are slaughtered. I am satisfied with the results.
MID GAME:
Orne has reavers being constructed, zealots and dragoons and speed Up'ed shuttles. I have my expansion going well and have a nice force of zerglings and hydralisks scattered between my two bases. Jim decides to pay me a visit with about a dozen marines and 4 medics. He stims them and immediatly targets my Extractor, leveling it in seconds. My first few stupid zerglings run into the marines, being sprayed into nothingness in seconds. Soon their stim runs out and the marines march into my sunken colony. I command aout 8 hydralisks and 8 zerglings to attack them, along with about 7 drones. I destroy the marines, and Orne helps with a dropped off reaver, which isnt really needed. I repair the expansion, and upgrade lurker aspect. I send down about 19 hydralisks to the outside rim of Giggles' base, and morph 5 or 6 of them into lurkers. Orne helps me with a few zealots, goons, and a reaver in a shuttle. (Probobly the same one that helped me earlier) I start to move my lurkers next to the undefended mineral line, but a FREAKING scv was moving between the supply depot and the mineral line at the same time my lurkers were! The SCV blocked the path and let the tank and bunker tank pot shots. I finnally just pressed burrow and got 1 burrowed near a supply depot and another next to a factory. SHe kills them both with comsat and Orne and I Just attack. We kill about 4 tanks, and we are out of range of the bunkers so we are just pelting the structures. I morph 2 more heavily damaged hydralisks into lurkers, and Giggles is officially screwed. Jim decides to pay me another visit with a handful of marines and medics, upgrades are 1/0. He kills the base and i burrow all my drones. I morph 2 lurkers at my other base, and burrow them on the path to the base. He moves in to my base and falls into the ambush. WHile he comsats that area, I have 6 hydralisks attack the marines. All marines dead. Giggles starts saying to send her screenshots at whoever@whatever.where and we take some pics. We start blabbing about stuff and Jim says that he personnally thought that we maphacked. WTF?! Neither of us did, and he mentioned later on how I attacked right when his guys were out of his base, and I said thats because orne told me! Oh well, it was fun anyways. We never got to kill jims base because he just left, and giggles had nothing but a supply depot or two. We talk in the channel and he thought we hacked, but We told him we didnt and just had good communications. I think he believed us later but I dont know. They said they lost because they didnt know the map, but neither did we, just randomly picked it out of the BW Folder. I wish I would have remembered to take a screenshot of the "Victory!" screen at the end. Ah well.
Lessons Learned
- Double Terrans isnt the best in the world
- Marines suck when they arent stimmed
- Dont use lurkers if you cant control them (me)
- Reavers are great. I forgot to mention about Ornes random reaver+zeal+goon drops behind Jims base, which really wore jims economy down.
- Remember to take screenshots at the end screen
- I suck at writing battle reports, mostly because of my laziness.
