Howdy Folks. Today, I present to you a 2v2 on vanilla SC within the ranks of clan OBK.
This report is all-inclusive with my MS Paint Graphics and
my crappy writings. Please wait for everything to load. Go to the supermarket and buy some cheese. So lets get started...
Vital Info
Team R-Cloak
[OBK]RedCloak - Commonly known as the webmaster of Starcraft
Legacy. Don't know much about his playing skills, but he's a Kali player, so can't be
too bad.
[OBK]rAGECLOAK - Very prejudiced against asians and likes to call them slants. Also a Kali player.
Team Random Letters
[OBK]elcapjtk - Don't know too much about him... I'm guessing he fell asleep on the keyboard
when he was trying to think of a b.net handle. From what I've read of him in other reports,
he's pretty good...
[OBK]NightC|oak - Smurfing as "Canuk~B33t4r," he had a test to study for and we had to strap
him down in a chair and tickle him with wool socks until he agreed to play.
Note: I will now refer to them just as their names, without the OBK tag.
The Map: Rivalry
There are four high-ground starts at the corners. Each has a low-ground natural that is mineral
only with three bridges connecting to it. Also, at 12:00, 3:00, 6:00, and 9:00, there are
mineral + gas expansions that have two bridges to guard. In the center, there are two gas-only
expansions.
Let's Get Started - Build Orders
Redcloak randoms to yellow zerg in the bottom right position. He goes for a 2nd hatchery in
his main, and then adds a spawning pool and an extractor simultaneously, followed by a hatchery
at his natural and a den in his main.
rAGECLOAK chooses orange zerg and gets the top left spot. He gets the early expansion at his
natural, followed by his spawning pool and a 3rd hatchery at the top og his ramp.
elcapjtk randoms to protoss and lands the top right start. He opens up with pylon,
gate, pylon, gate assimilator. He follows with a cybernetics core and a forge.
NightC|oak randoms to protoss in the bottom right position. He begins with pylon, assimilator,
gate, gate, pylon, and a shield battery in the main. Then he makes a forge.
Yeah...it's very interesting, 2 zergs vs. 2 protoss...
It's a Boring Game...and First Blood
After sunkening up his expansion, rAGECLOAK finally gets gas (no pun intended) and a den. He
also adds another hatchery at the top of his ramp.
Meanwhile, team Random Letters decides it's time to expand. Elcapjtk warps in his nexus and
defends it with zealots, while NightC|oak puts down a pylon, two cannons, and a shield battery
1st. He also defends it with 6 zealots and 2 dragoons.
Redcloak has been content to sit there and pump units. Both players on team R-Cloak slap
down 2 evo chambers each and begin their upgrades.
Around this time, Redcloak's computer decides to go haywire and disconnect. Fortunately,
He had saved "virus to c drive" just seconds before the disconnect. So after a bit of waiting,
we're back in the game.
RedCloak decides to initiate the 1st battle of the war by sending around 6 lings and 3 hydras
to NightC|oak's expansion. The expansion is well defended with 6 zealots and 2 dragoons, one cannon,
and another cannon plus a shield battery warping in.
RedCloak retreats across the Northwestern bridge...
and right towards elcapjtk's expansion! Of course, by the time he gets there, it is also
well defended with 4 dragoons and 4 zealots. Elcapjtk manages to take out the whole attacking
force losing only one zealot.
Its heating up...
Team Random Letters each warps in a robotics facility, while rAGECLOAK and RedCloak expand
to the 9:00 and 3:00 spots, respectively. Also, rAGECLOAK starts burrowing zerglings at every
open expansion. It's worthy to mentions that both R-Cloak players have just reached Lair
level and are pumping out hydras like no tomorrow.
NightC|oak finally warps in the nexus at his expansion. Elcapjtk, however, mass techs by adding
a support bay, an observatory, and a Citadel of Adun. He also attempts an expansion at the 12:00
site, but is seen by a burrowed zergling. Team R-Cloak decides to let the nexus finish before
killing it. As it finishes, each R-Cloak member sends about 8 hydras to attack. Elcapjtk drops
off a reaver at the site, killing about 12 hydras, but team R-Cloak finishes off his expansion anyway.
About right now, RedCloak sends hydras in from two of the bridges leading to elcapjtk's expansion
and proceeds to demolish the expansion.
As this is happening, he sends another control group of hydras to attack NightC|oak's
expansion. Halfway there, however, he decides to stop and burrows them at the bridge between
the 6:00 expansion and NightC|oak's natural. Meanwhile, elcapjtk is close to driving RedCloak
away, but rAGECLOAK reinforces with a control group of hydras and elcapjtk is pushed back to his main.
NightC|oak sends some reinforcements, but they are dealt with easily. He also FINALLY finishes
the tech to templar and immediately produces some which are stationed at his expansion.
He's on Fire!
Team R-Cloak finishes with elcapjtk's expansion and charges up the ramp while a nearby observer can
only...well...observe.

Minimap Update: (rAGECLOAK has just taken the 12:00 expansion)
As you can see, team R-Cloak are rallying their forces outside of NightC|oak's expansion. It is
interesting to note that rAGECLOAK has 9 hatcheries and RedCloak has 4, but RedCloak is almost matching
rAGECLOAK in production.

Lessons Learned
- When you get templar, use storm, not make archons!
- Don't let the other dude(s) expand rapidly.
- Alt text sucks.
- Caps lock owns [OBK]rAGECLOAK, but he still owns um...his clanmates.
- Vanilla still has a bit of fun left in it
