It all started when i was in -x17 as usualy, and i see froggy~monster (aka x'ds~grrr....) and Stranix, stranix is asking for a game, so i tell him i will play him.
He chooses map as lost temple game-q, and froggy~monster and some other guy both obs. Stranix then askes for a protoss vs zerg matchup, so i accept, and the game begins.
I am in an ALL zerg phase right now, so i decided i would work on my zerg vs random order. I started at 6 zerg, while stranix started at 9 protoss. I continued on my vs random order, which consists of a pool, gas, hatch all in main. Now this may sound like suicide vs a good toss, but i assure you, it will catch MANY toss off guard. Stranix double gate zealot rushed me as most toss do, but my order is timed so that when his first zealot arrives, i already have 3 hydras, and more in the making. He then retreats to outside my main (overlord can see barely see them) with his zealots. He puts up gas and core, and when hes core finishes, i retreat my ovie back to my base. I continue pumping non-stop hydras, but Stranix believes me to be going for A) Lurkers B) hydra drop. i stuck my first group of 12 hyds hiding to the north of my ramp, and rallied the remainder to the ramp. I dont want him to see how many hydras i have. I then see a probe coming up my ramp, so i retreat my hydras a little more north to be sure he wont see them, and dispatch the probe with around 8-10 hydes i had at the ramp. I wait until i get 24 hydes, (speed and range) and send them down my ramp. to prepare for attack. Stranix however had the same idea, and sent in his forces of zealots and a handful of goons. His forces met up with mine as only half of my units were down the ramp, so my hydras didnt do as well as they should have, but none the less, i still had more then enough to kill half his army while he retreated the rest to his main. I followed his remaining units to his ramp, where he was attempting to put up cannons, my hydras killed all his goons however, as 9 is a bad ramp to defend because u can hit the defending units from nearly all sides. I continued into his base, destroying it all, only to hear stranix say "I lost to a newbie, i cant believe it" and many other statements along those lines. He then proceeded to call me a hacker, stating that i saw his units coming to attack me, and moved my hydras down the ramp just in time. Froggy~monster, seemed to agree with him, and then challanged me to a p v z. It's not every day u get to play grr, so i accepted.
GAME 2 (ME VS GRR)
Grr made the game, while [xel]ninja watched. I got zerg at 9, while grr got toss at 12. I knew that my vs random 2 hatch hydra rush wouldnt fair to well vs a player such as grr, so i opted for my superior z vs p order. In many cases, an early zealot rush if done effectively can destroy zerg early expansion, so I developed an order that allowes me not to worry about rushing, and power nearly as effectively. It consists of a 13 pool, 12 hatch, 15 hatch ,15 gas order. grr scouted me with a probe about the time i was to send my drone down for exp, so i hid my drone in the corner of my base, until it was out of sight of the probe, then sent it down to expand without interuption of a probe. as soon as my pool finished, i morphed 6 zerglin, and sent them to guard my expansion, if he had rushed me, my zerglings would have got there the same time as his first zealot. i then put up my third hatch below my second to allow a walled in sunken, that would let me power. as soon as my second hatch finished i build a creep colony, but at about this time my ovie arrived in grr base, and saw a gas and 2 gates. My scouting zerglins was killed by around 5 zealots on the ramp. he then put up a core, and when it finished, i retreated my ovie. On my way out however, i saw the end of a warping in citadel, so i knew templar were in store for me. I then pumped drones until i achieved a couple more then 1 drone per patch, and put up a den at 27/27, built another drone to replace, and an ovie. my den finished and i built 9 hydras from my 3 hatches researched range upgrade, and continued building hydes. when i got 24 with speed and range, i sent in zerglin to see what he had, and saw about 20 zealots with speed upgrade running down his ramp. I attacked when i got 36 hydes, which was about 10 seconds before his psi had finished researching. i killed all his zealots and templar, and marched into his base. I then realized that he had used the mass speedy zeal strat because he thought i would 2 hatch hyd rush again. He later confirmed this to me. He then asked for another game, so i agreed.
GAME 3 (ME VS GRR)
This game I got 3, while grr got 9. I did the same 13 pool, 12 hatch below ramp, 15 hatch at exp order. I sent my starting ovie to scout 12, and my second to scout 6. I forgot to immediately send my initial ovie to the 9 spot after seeing nobody in 12, and so it was a bit delayed on its way to 9. I then sent one of my zerglins to the 9 spot, and one to 6. Only to see the one at 9 get eaten up by 2 zealots blocking the ramp on hold position. I knew he was teching at this point, and since my initial ovie wouldnt make it in time to scout his base without getting killed by a goon or sair, i retreated both my ovies back to my base. and proceeded to send my 8 zerglins all over the map (mostly around the border of his base) on patrol in key points to see any sairs or shuttles coming my way. I put up an early den in case of sairs, and made a couple of hydes, then went back to drones to fill my expansion. after my expansion had a little more then 1 per patch, i went back to hydes and got the range upgrade as soon as my speed finished. At this time i saw 2 zealots leave grrs base and kill my alert zergling below his ramp. so i sat and watched the rest of my patrol zerglins and saw a force of units (i couldnt see how large however because my zerglins only saw bits and pieces of them) coming my way.
I had all my hydes rallied to my choke, which consisted of about 20-24. he attacked all my units with a number of zealots, not sure how many, and a couple of goons, along with a reaver in a shuttle which may have had speed upgrade but im not sure. He almost lost the shuttle however as he flew right into my stationary hydras, but reatreted it, and dropped the cargo before it died. i then focus fired on the reaver, and sent in kamakazi hydras right next to it so the scarab would only hit the single hydra, this worked for the first shot, but the second grr targeted a pack oh hydes and killed 4 or 5 with one shot. The reaver then died however, as well as the rest of his troops. I had about 12 hydras at this point left, and sent them outside his expand. I also sent in one of my patroling zergling and saw a nexus a pylon and about 10 goons. i stayed outside his base however for fear of another reaver hidden somewhere. I sent in another zerglin when i had 2 control groups, and saw about 15 goons, with no reaver in sight, so i sent in my units. Grr had a gateway in front of his nexus which didnt allow a lot of his goons to get in range of my hydras, so they just ate up the gateway, and later the nexus, and again the ramp at 9 is very difficult to defend, so he lost all his goons, and i continued up his ramp to win the game.
before quiting grr said i play really wierd, which at the time i took as a complement. But after in -x17 he accused me of hacking, saying that i never scouted his base with my ovie, which i didnt, and that i saw his shuttle coming and force attacked it before it got there, which made me very angry because my hydras were stationary and his shuttle ran into them. Even after having Newbiemcnasty (a common foe) and $SUPSERSTAR$ both say i dont hack, he still didnt believe me and he then left the channel and put on dnd.
He also never ask for a Screen shot or anything, so that makes me angry. |
